Logic locking proposed to protect integrated circuits from serious hardware threats has been studied extensively over a decade. In these years, many logic locking techniques have been proven to be broken. The state-of-the-art logic locking techniques, including the prominent corrupt and correct (CAC) technique, are resilient to satisfiability (SAT)-based and removal attacks, but vulnerable to structural analysis attacks. To overcome this drawback, this paper introduces an improved version of CAC, called CAC 2.0, which increases the search space of structural analysis attacks using obfuscation. To do so, CAC 2.0 locks the original circuit twice, one after another, on different nodes with different number of protected primary inputs using CAC, while hiding original protected primary inputs among decoy primary inputs. This paper also introduces an open source logic locking tool, called HIID, equipped with well-known techniques including CAC 2.0. Our experiments show that CAC 2.0 is resilient to existing SAT-based, removal, and structural analysis attacks. To achieve this, it increases the number of key inputs at most 4× and the gate-level area between 30.2% and 0.8% on circuits with low and high complexity with respect to CAC. © 2024 IEEE.

Factors have always played an important role in stock analysis, but they are only effective for specific problems in specific scenarios. Therefore, constructing factors timely and quickly for different scenarios is an urgent problem to be solved. Although some experts have constructed factors, they need to manually construct factors for each scenario, and the construction process consumes time and effort. The annual report is an important and common scenario. It is an important form of information disclosure and financial reporting. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for automatically constructing factors based on genetic programming that combines expert experience for this scenario. It incorporates the knowledge and insights of experts in the field of stock analysis into the process of automati-cally constructing factors, and continuously adjusts and improves the combination of factors through genetic programming to adapt to the needs of the scenario. The effectiveness of this method is verified through empirical analysis and its advantages in specific scenarios are demonstrated. © 2024 IEEE.

Integrating supercapacitors with solar energy harvesters offers a solution to the escalating energy demands of smart devices, providing an alternative to traditional batteries. This new approach ensures efficiency in capturing solar power and storing it in the supercapacitor by using the ability to charge and discharge rapidly. This approach shall bring a drastic change in energy storage and reduce most of the burdens associated with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in conventional energy converters by addressing the challenges of intermittent outdoor solar exposure. In the field of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), the demand for Human Action Recognition (HAR) is growing. Due to the limitations of portability and privacy of traditional sensors, many endeavors have made significant progress in 3D skeleton-based action recognition. However, existing methods ignore potential higher-order semantic information between joints and fail to perceive rapidly changing dynamic details, resulting in frequent confusion of actions with similar motion trajectories. To alleviate this issue, we propose a novel learning confusion representation network (LCR-Net). Specifically, a progressive feature enhancement module is first designed to utilize self-attention to gradually aggregate lower-order features to higher-order features, emphasizing the relative movement between body parts. Second, we design the enhanced spatiotemporal convolution to explore the potential spatio-temporal dependencies between joints by adding a mask matrix and an attention fusion mechanism. To further perceive the spatiotemporal relationships in subtle changes, we divide the interactive sparse-dense pathways at different spatio-temporal resolutions and enhance the complementary information between the two pathways through feature interaction. Finally, the frequency excitation learning module is proposed to efficiently learn the importance of different frequencies by cross-channel modeling, promoting the compactness of actions within classes and the separability of confusion actions. In addition, the lightweight LCR-Net+ is achieved through model compression optimization to meet the deployment requirements of IoT systems. Comprehensive experiments conducted on three public datasets (NTU-RGB+ D60&120, NW-UCLA) demonstrate the superior performance of our model. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

Virtual experiences can significantly influence our perception and behavior in the real world, shaping how we interact with and navigate physical environments. In this paper, we examine the impact of learning navigation routes in an immersive virtual environment (IVE) on navigation performance and user experience in a corresponding real-world indoor setting. We developed a guide system with two distinct audiovisual representations: a human agent guide and a symbol-based guide. A preliminary user study (N = 10) was conducted to evaluate the system. While no significant differences were observed between the two guide conditions, the findings reveal valuable insights into user-perceived confidence and enjoyment during real-world navigation tasks. Contrary to our expectations, the symbol-based guide elicited slightly higher positive scores compared to the human agent guide. We discuss these findings and outline directions for future research. © 2025 IEEE.

software modeling is a powerful tool in the design and implementation of high-quality software systems. Models can be used from high-level design to formal code generation, with various applications in between. Often, software models are initially created informally, by sketching on a whiteboard or paper during the early design phase of the system, and eventually converted into formal models using advanced modeling tools. The formalization of sketches into actual model components can be time-consuming, error-prone, and laborious. To address these shortcomings, we present SkeMo, an environment for real-Time model component generation from sketch-based inputs. We curated a sketch dataset of 3000 images of various class diagram components and implemented a powerful Convolution Neural Network to classify input sketches as model components. We integrated our sketch classifier into an existing web-based model editor and added a touch interface to support sketch-based modeling. We evaluated the SkeMo environment in two ways: Through ten-fold cross-validation of the image classifier and collection of metrics and feedback from a 20-participant user study. Based on our results, sketch-based modeling demonstrates significant promise as an intuitive interface that is both easy to use and allows for faster model creation among most users. © 2023 IEEE.

To eliminate the negative effects of existing methods such as social distance rule violation, slow test time and to create a pre-diagnosis method, deep learning and sound analysis work has been carried out for the Covid-19 disease, which has turned into a pandemic. For this purpose, experiments were performed on the crowdsourced Coswara dataset for Covid-19 Detection from Cough, Breath and Speech Sounds with Short-Time Fourier Transform and a CNN Model. On Coswara dataset, Covid-19 tested samples were selected and the CNN model was trained on different type of sounds. The best result was achieved with cough-heavy sound type as 0.980 precision, 0.998 AUC, 0.990 F1-score on test set. © 2023 IEEE.

Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) is a natural language processing (NLP) technique to determine the various sentiments of a customer in a single comment regarding different aspects. The increasing online data content generated by interested customers and reviewers motivated researchers and data scientists to conduct ABSA. ABSA has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its versatility in e-commerce, social media, and customer feedback analysis. However, ABSA faces several significant challenges, including determining the aspects and their sentiment polarities (positive, negative, or neutral) in a given text. Moreover, ABSA faces particular challenges in non-English languages such as Arabic due to the lack of resources and mature models. Typically, ABSA tackles one or more of the ABSA research tasks: (T1) aspect term extraction, (T2) aspect term polarity, (T3) aspect category identification, and (T4) aspect category polarity. To identify the aspects and their corresponding sentiment polarities in a given text, accurate and efficient NLP techniques are required. Despite growing interest in Arabic ABSA, the lack of annotated datasets and pre-trained models has hindered its development. In this research, we have collected a dataset of Arabic game reviews and annotated them using three annotators, and then we trained an ABSA deep learning model based on the BERT pre-trained model combined with zero-shot learning (ZSL) to tackle all the four aforementioned tasks. Our best performing model achieved a high accuracy on all four tasks with an accuracy of 91.61% on T1, 90.99% on T2, 79.08% on T3, and 88.17% on T4. Finally, we compared our model’s accuracy with the state-of-the-art Arabic-based ABSA models on different datasets. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Collaborative graph contrastive learning for recommendation

Recently, Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) using aggregating neighborhood collaborative information have shown effectiveness in recommendation. However, GNNs-based models suffer from over-smoothing and data sparsity problems. Due to its self-supervised nature, contrastive learning has gained considerable attention in the field of recommendation, aiming at alleviating highly sparse data. Graph contrastive learning models are widely used to learn the consistency of representations by constructing different graph augmentation views. Most current graph augmentation with random perturbation destroy the original graph structure information, which mislead embeddings learning. In this paper, an effective graph contrastive learning paradigm CollaGCL is proposed, which constructs graph augmentation by using singular value decomposition to preserve crucial structure information. CollaGCL enables perturbed views to effectively capture global collaborative information, mitigating the negative impact of graph structural perturbations. To optimize the contrastive learning task, the extracted meta-knowledge was propagate throughout the original graph to learn reliable embedding representations. The self-information learning between views enhances the semantic information of nodes, thus alleviating the problem of over-smoothing. Experimental results on three real-world datasets demonstrate the significant improvement of CollaGCL over state-of-the-art methods. © 2025 – IOS Press. All rights reserved.

Critical circumstances, natural disasters or pandemics like COVID 19 gave rise to the wide applicability of E-learning into education system. Efficient and fair online assessment is very important to utilize the inevitable benefits of E-learning.. In order to make it efficient, the trend of assessment has shifted from the subjective type to the objective type assessments which is mainly based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), generation of MCQs is a tedious, tiresome and time consuming task. To cater this dire need, this study proposes an automated Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) generation by utilizing state of the art transformer based model T5 for the task of question generation and a lexicon based approach Sense2vec for the task of distractor generation. It also presented a domain specific lecture text based test data for performing evaluation on the task of domain specific lecture text based MCQ generation. © 2022 IEEE.
