Dual modality prompt learning for visual question-grounded answering in robotic surgery

With recent advancements in robotic surgery,notable strides have been made in visual question answering(VQA).Existing VQA systems typically generate textual answers to questions but fail to indicate the location of the relevant content within the *** limitation restricts the interpretative capacity of the VQA models and their abil-ity to explore specific image *** address this issue,this study proposes a grounded VQA model for robotic surgery,capable of localizing a specific region during answer *** inspiration from prompt learning in language models,a dual-modality prompt model was developed to enhance precise multimodal information ***,two complementary prompters were introduced to effectively integrate visual and textual prompts into the encoding process of the model.A visual complementary prompter merges visual prompt knowl-edge with visual information features to guide accurate *** textual complementary prompter aligns vis-ual information with textual prompt knowledge and textual information,guiding textual information towards a more accurate inference of the ***,a multiple iterative fusion strategy was adopted for comprehensive answer reasoning,to ensure high-quality generation of textual and grounded *** experimental results vali-date the effectiveness of the model,demonstrating its superiority over existing methods on the EndoVis-18 and End-oVis-17 datasets.

Personalized federated learning (PFL) has recently gained significant attention for its capability to address the poor convergence performance on highly heterogeneous data and the lack of personalized solutions of traditional federated learning (FL). Existing mainstream approaches either perform personalized aggregation based on a specific model architecture to leverage global knowledge or achieve personalization by exploiting client similarities. However, the former overlooks the discrepancies in client data distributions by indiscriminately aggregating all clients, while the latter lacks fine-grained collaboration of classifiers relevant to local tasks. In view of this challenge, we propose a Personalized Federated learning method for Enhancing Collaboration among Similar Classifiers (PFedCS), which aims at improving the client’s accuracy on local tasks. Concretely, it is achieved by leveraging awareness of the client classifier similarities to address the above problems. By iteratively measuring the distance of the classifier parameters between clients and clustering with each client as a cluster center, the central server adaptively identifies the collaborating clients with similar data distributions. In addition, a distance-constrained aggregation method is designed to generate customized collaborative classifiers to guide local training. As a result, extensive experimental evaluations conducted on various datasets demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Federated Collaborative Graph Neural Networks for Few-shot Graph Classification

Graph neural networks(GNNs)have achieved state-of-the-art performance on graph classification tasks,which aim to pre-dict the class labels of entire graphs and have widespread ***,existing GNN based methods for graph classification are data-hungry and ignore the fact that labeling graph examples is extremely expensive due to the intrinsic *** import-antly,real-world graph data are often scattered in different *** by these observations,this article presents federated collaborative graph neural networks for few-shot graph classification,termed *** its owned graph examples,each client first trains two branches to collaboratively characterize each graph from different views and obtains a high-quality local few-shot graph learn-ing model that can generalize to novel categories not seen while *** each branch,initial graph embeddings are extracted by any GNN and the relation information among graph examples is incorporated to produce refined graph representations via relation aggrega-tion layers for few-shot graph classification,which can reduce over-fitting while learning with scarce labeled graph ***,multiple clients owning graph data unitedly train the few-shot graph classification models with better generalization ability and effect-ively tackle the graph data island *** experimental results on few-shot graph classification benchmarks demonstrate the ef-fectiveness and superiority of our proposed framework.

Multi-view multi-person 3D human pose estimation is a hot topic in the field of human pose estimation due to its wide range of application *** the introduction of end-to-end direct regression methods,the field has entered a new stage of ***,the regression results of joints that are more heavily influenced by external factors are not accurate enough even for the optimal *** this paper,we propose an effective feature recalibration module based on the channel attention mechanism and a relative optimal calibration strategy,which is applied to themulti-viewmulti-person 3D human pose estimation task to achieve improved detection accuracy for joints that are more severely affected by external ***,it achieves relative optimal weight adjustment of joint feature information through the recalibration module and strategy,which enables the model to learn the dependencies between joints and the dependencies between people and their corresponding *** call this method as the Efficient Recalibration Network(ER-Net).Finally,experiments were conducted on two benchmark datasets for this task,Campus and Shelf,in which the PCP reached 97.3% and 98.3%,respectively.

Formalization of Android Activity-Fragment Multitasking Mechanism and Static Analysis of Mobile Apps

The multitasking mechanism between activities and fragments plays a fundamental role in the Android operating system, which involves a wide range of features, including launch modes, intent flags, task affinities, and structured activities containing fragments. All of them are being widely used in Android apps, both open source and commercial ones. In this article, we present a formal semantics of the Android multitasking mechanism between activities and fragments, which accommodates all the important features and gives insofar the most comprehensive and accurate formalization. In particular, our semantics is formulated based on multi-stack systems, and fully captures the behavior of task stacks and activity stacks regarding fragments. Based on the semantics, we provide new static analysis algorithms, which are both multi-stack aware and fragment sensitive, thus achieve more precise static analysis for Android apps. We validate our approach by extensive experiments on both open source and commercial Android apps. The results highlight the benefits of the considering the semantics of the multitasking mechanism between activities and fragments in static analysis, and confirm the efficacy of our approach. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

QAAS:quick accurate auto-scaling for streaming processing

In recent years,the demand for real-time data processing has been increasing,and various stream processing systems have *** the amount of data input to the stream processing system fluctuates,the computing resources required by the stream processing job will also *** resources used by stream processing jobs need to be adjusted according to load changes,avoiding the waste of computing *** present,existing works adjust stream processing jobs based on the assumption that there is a linear relationship between the operator parallelism and operator resource consumption(e.g.,throughput),which makes a significant deviation when the operator parallelism *** paper proposes a nonlinear model to represent operator *** divide the operator performance into three stages,the Non-competition stage,the Non-full competition stage,and the Full competition *** our proposed performance model,given the parallelism of the operator,we can accurately predict the CPU utilization and operator *** with actual experiments,the prediction error of our model is below 5%.We also propose a quick accurate auto-scaling(QAAS)method that uses the operator performance model to implement the auto-scaling of the operator parallelism of the Flink *** to previous work,QAAS is able to maintain stable job performance under load changes,minimizing the number of job adjustments and reducing data backlogs by 50%.

Optimizing Monitoring Utility of Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles Considering Adverse Effects

For Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) monitoring tasks, capturing high quality images of target objects is important for subsequent recognition. Concerning the problem, many prior works study placement/trajectory planning for UAVs to maximize the quality of captured images. However, all of them overlook a fact that UAV monitoring may cause a huge risk/annoyance on living objects. In this paper, we investigate the novel problem of oPtimizing uncrewed aErial vehicles plAcement by Considering both monitoring utility and adverse Effects (PEACE). We propose an approach to solve PEACE, which is proved to be NP-hard. Overall, our approach achieves a 1- 1/e-Ε approximation ratio. First, we approximate the original problem of PEACE as a classical problem of Monotone Submodular function Maximization under a Uniform Matroid constraint (MSMUM) with a controlled gap. Then, for MSMUM, we propose a combination of algorithms achieving a 1-1/e approximation and O(n log n) time complexity considering the correlation among the UAV monitoring strategies. The proposed algorithms outperform existing algorithms for MSMUM through theoretical analysis and experimental results. Extensive simulations and field experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, achieving performance gains of 9.0% to 1434.5% compared to existing methods. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

In recent years, microservice architectures have benefited from low coupling and high cohesion characteristics, allowing flexible on-demand deployment of complex applications and simplifying the difficulty of developing and maintaining large software systems. However, there is limited research on quality models and testing methods for microservice architectures, which leads to the problem that microservice architecture applications are difficult to test and evaluate. This paper analyzes the main problems when microservice architecture applications face quality measurement and software testing, further improves and refines the quality model of microservice architecture applications on the basis of the existing ISO software product quality model, and introduces testing methods for microservice architecture applications, which can provide reference for the construction of microservice architecture applications. © 2023 IEEE.
