In this paper, continuous-time noncooperative games in networks of double-integrator agents are explored. The existing methods require that agents communicate with their neighbors in real time. In this paper, we propose two discrete-time communication schemes based on the designed continuous-time strategy-updating rule for the efficient use of communication resources. First, the property of the designed continuous-time rule is analyzed to ensure that all agents’ strategies can converge to the Nash equilibrium. Then, we propose periodic and event-triggered communication schemes for the implementation of the designed rule with discrete-time communication. The rule in the periodic case is implemented synchronously and easily. The rule in the event-triggered case is executed asynchronously without Zeno behaviors. All agents in both cases can asymptotically reach to the Nash equilibrium by interacting with neighbors at discrete times. 5G technology is constrained by its higher frequency band and smaller coverage area, which leads to the need for operators to use technologies such as small cell base stations to increase the density of base station deployment to ensure signal coverage quality, which leads to more enormous construction costs. Therefore, it is urgent to find a safe and reliable solution that can use the existing public network to realize small cell base stations with automatic access. Based on this demand, we summarize various existing small cell base station automatic access technology solutions and their advantages and disadvantages while combing the characteristics of blockchain technology and its application solutions in similar scenarios. And then, we propose a new blockchain-based base station automatic access solution and implements the system in a practical scenario. In our solution, we innovatively introduce blockchain as an intermediate manager for small base stations and core networks, which solves traditional solutions requiring customized equipment while ensuring safety and reliability. It reduces costs and improves efficiency, but some problems are brought by the “decentralization” of blockchain waiting to be solved.

Learning from pseudo lesion: A self-supervised framework for covid-19 diagnosis

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has rapidly spread all over the world since its first report in December 2019 and thoracic computed tomography (CT) has become one of the main tools for its diagnosis. In recent years, deep learning-based approaches have shown impressive performance in myriad image recognition tasks. However, they usually require a large number of annotated data for training. Inspired by Ground Glass Opacity (GGO), a common finding in COIVD-19 patient's CT scans, we proposed in this paper a novel self-supervised pretraining method based on pseudo lesions generation and restoration for COVID-19 diagnosis. We used Perlin noise, a gradient noise based mathematical model, to generate lesion-like patterns, which were then randomly pasted to the lung regions of normal CT images to generate pseudo COVID-19 images. The pairs of normal and pseudo COVID-19 images were then used to train an encoder-decoder architecture based U-Net for image restoration, which does not require any labelled data. The pretrained encoder was then fine-tuned using labelled data for COVID-19 diagnosis task. Two public COVID- 19 diagnosis datasets made up of CT images were employed for evaluation. Comprehensive experimental results demonstrated that the proposed self-supervised learning approach could extract better feature representation for COVID-19 diagnosis and the accuracy of the proposed method outperformed the supervised model pretrained on large scale images by 6.57% and 3.03% on SARS-CoV-2 dataset and Jinan COVID-19 dataset, respectively. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

Spatiotemporal structured light has opened up new avenues for optics and photonics. Current spatiotemporal manipulation of light mostly relies on phase-only devices such as liquid crystal spatial light modulator to generate spatiotemporal optical fields with unique photonic properties. However, simultaneous manipulation of both amplitude and phase of the complex field for the spatiotemporal light is still lacking, limiting the diversity and richness of achievable photonic properties. In this work, a simple and versatile spatiotemporal holographic method that can arbitrarily sculpture the spatiotemporal light is presented. The capabilities of this simple yet powerful method are demonstrated through the generation of fundamental and higher-order spatiotemporal Bessel wavepacket, spatiotemporal crystal-like and quasi-crystal-like structures, and spatiotemporal flat-top wavepackets. Fully customizable spatiotemporal wavepackets will find broader application in investigating the dynamics of spatiotemporal fields and interactions between ultrafast spatiotemporal pulses and matters, unveiling previously hidden light-matter interactions and unlocking breakthroughs in photonics and beyond. © 2024, CC BY.

Test of macroscopic realism (MR) is key to understanding the foundation of quantum mechanics. Due to the existence of the non-invasive measurability loophole and other interpretation loopholes, however, such test remains an open question. Here we propose a general inequality based on high-order correlations of measurements for a loophole-free test of MR at the weak signal limit. Importantly, the inequality is established using the statistics of raw data recorded by classical devices, without requiring a specific model for the measurement process, so its violation would falsify MR without the interpretation loophole. The non-invasive measurability loophole is also closed, since the weak signal limit can be verified solely by measurement data (using the relative scaling behaviors of different orders of correlations). We demonstrate that the inequality can be broken by a quantum spin model. The inequality proposed here provides an unambiguous test of the MR principle and is also useful to characterizing quantum coherence. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

There have been researches revealing obvious associations between facial phenotypes and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which enables effective health assessment with the integration of model-based learning methods. However, the paucity and poor quality of available datasets hinder the development of potent algorithms to detect NCDs. To meet this challenge, we propose a method called Exemplar Diffusion Model (EDM), the objective of proposed EDM is to generate facial images that illustrate simulated non-communicable diseases, utilizing a normal facial image as input. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed EDM method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in terms of Frechet Inception Distance (FID) and Quality Score (QS), with improvements of 0.11 and 0.74, respectively. Furthermore, comprehensive ablation studies and comparative experiments prove the value of proposed EDM method in large-scale facial image dataset generation and non-communicable disease detection.

In this paper, we explore aggregative games over networks of multi-integrator agents with coupled constraints. To reach the general Nash equilibrium of an aggregative game, a distributed strategy-updating rule is proposed by a combination of the coordination of Lagrange multipliers and the estimation of the aggregator. Each player has only access to partial-decision information and communicates with his neighbors in a weight-balanced digraph which characterizes players' preferences as to the values of information received from neighbors. We first consider networks of double-integrator agents and then focus on multi-integrator agents. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy-updating rules is demonstrated by analyzing the convergence of corresponding dynamical systems via the Lyapunov stability theory, singular perturbation theory and passive theory. Freeform handwriting authentication verifies a person’s identity from their writing style and habits in messy handwriting data. This technique has gained widespread attention in recent years as a valuable tool for various fields, e.g., fraud prevention and cultural heritage protection. However, it still remains a challenging task in reality due to three reasons: (i) severe damage, (ii) complex high-dimensional features, and (iii) lack of supervision. To address these issues, we propose SherlockNet, an energy-oriented two-branch contrastive self-supervised learning framework for robust and fast freeform handwriting authentication. It consists of four stages: (i) pre-processing: converting manuscripts into energy distributions using a novel plug-and-play energy-oriented operator to eliminate the influence of noise;(ii) generalized pre-training: learning general representation through two-branch momentum-based adaptive contrastive learning with the energy distributions, which handles the high-dimensional features and spatial dependencies of handwriting;(iii) personalized fine-tuning: calibrating the learned knowledge using a small amount of labeled data from downstream tasks;and (iv) practical application: identifying individual handwriting from scrambled, missing, or forged data efficiently and conveniently. Considering the practicality, we construct EN-HA, a novel dataset that simulates data forgery and severe damage in real applications. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets including our EN-HA, and the results prove the robustness and efficiency of SherlockNet.
