The All-Electric of modern military equipment has become an important trend, in the field of aircraft the traditional servo control focus on the exact control of the motor. With the development of power electronics technology, a high-power motor has expanded into a multiphase kind which cast off the limitation of traditional three-phase motors. The multiphase motor has more control resources and fault-tolerant control ability under the fault condition, which has practical meaning for high safety and high-reliability applications in an airborne environment. The multiphase motor can be controlled by a series of phase-shift carriers, which can reduce DC current ripple more effectively than the traditional carrier-based pulse width modulation, but it needs to find the optimal phase shift angle. In this paper, the optimal carrier phase shift angle is analyzed mathematically which can be used for both under health and single open-phase fault of a dual three-phase motor, and the simulation result illustrates that the carrier phase shift method used in this paper has the DC current ripple optimization effect. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this note, we present the synthesis of secure-by-construction controllers that address safety and security properties simultaneously in cyber-physical systems. Our focus is on studying a specific security property called opacity, which characterizes the system's ability to maintain plausible deniability of its secret behavior in the presence of an intruder. These controllers are synthesized based on a concept of so-called (augmented) control barrier functions. We propose conditions that facilitate the construction of the desired (augmented) control barrier functions and their corresponding secure-by-construction controllers. To compute these functions, we propose an iterative scheme that leverages iterative sum-of-square programming techniques. This approach enables efficient computation of these functions, particularly for polynomial systems. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our results through a case study of a vehicle. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a major subfield of machine learning that focuses on the interaction between humans and computers through several techniques, including topic modeling, which extracts and generates topics from large amounts of unstructured data on the web. Topic modeling uncovers hidden patterns and contextual meanings in web pages, allowing for the categorization, clustering, recommendation of relevant content, detection of emerging trends, and improved information retrieval. The benefit of topic models relies on their performance to detect and generate topics;however, the evaluation of applying topic modeling on web content data remains lacking in current studies. The absence of examining such performance evaluations hinders understanding performance variability across different web pages, the development of refined models, and the ability to keep pace with emerging patterns in the dynamic online environment. This study presents a comprehensive performance evaluation of the benchmark topic models when applied to web content data. It presents a comparison of topic models using four topic coherence metrics, providing an in-depth performance analysis. The evaluation is conducted on a public dataset consisting of 2 million web pages, providing a substantial basis for assessing the strengths and limitations of these models in the context of web data. Additionally, this study examines the utilization of NLP techniques for topic generation within the context of web content and sheds light on the challenges and issues associated with generating topics from web content data, highlighting potential research prospects and the need for future work in the field of web topic modeling using natural language processing. © 2023 IEEE.

Brain-inspired computing methods have shown remarkable efficiency and robustness compared to deep neural networks (DNN). In particular, HyperDimensional Computing (HDC) and Vision Transformer (ViT) have demonstrated promising achievements in facilitating effective and reliable cognitive learning. This paper proposes SpatialHD, the first framework that combines spatial transformer networks (STN) and HDC. First, SpatialHD exploits the STN, which explicitly allows the spatial manipulation of data within the network. Then, it employs HDC to operate over STN output by mapping feature maps into high-dimensional space, learning abstracted information, and classifying data. In addition, the STN output is resized to generate a smaller input feature map. This further reduces computing complexity and memory storage compared to HDC alone. Finally, to test the model's functionality, we applied spatial HD for image classification, utilizing the MNIST and Fashion-MNIST datasets, using only 25% of the dataset for training. Our results show that SpatialHD improves accuracy by ≈ 8% and enhances efficiency by approximately 2.5x compared to base-HDC. © 2023 IEEE.

Developing upon open system architecture, Software-Defined Spacecraft, as a new generation of spacecraft, can support payload plug-and-play, application software loading as needed, and system function reconfiguration on demand. Therefore, the Software-Defined Spacecraft is able to solve the design and application limitations of traditional specific-designed spacecraft, making it become a significant developing trend of future spacecraft. Regarding to the software defined spacecraft bus, this paper analyzes the requirements for avionics system on the aspects of space field development, technology development and corresponding applications. Feature selection (FS) analyzes the most important features to enhance classification accuracy during preprocessing. The objective of FS techniques is to reduce the number of input variables and computational load to achieve optimal classification performance. However, finding the best features is challenging due to high dimensionality, with many features but limited data samples. Metaheuristic optimization algorithms (MOAs) are crucial in creating the best subset of features through exploration and exploitation phases. This study experiments with Teaching-Learning-based Optimization (TLO) as MOA from several diverse binary medical datasets. TLO draws attention to its excellence in improving performance with minimal features. TLO is a fairly straightforward algorithm without algorithm-specific parameters, with rapid convergence and implementation yet effectiveness. In this study, we have also conducted four classifiers to obtain the best model for minimizing the features and maximizing the performance of the model, i.e., decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), k-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), and support vector machine (SVM) with the default parameter of each classifier. As the result, TLO shows its excellence in achieving minimal features, but still outstanding performance with 100% accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and precision. TLO is successfully applied to varying diverse medical datasets with varying number of features. © 2024 IEEE.

Carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNTFETs) have been ideal nanoelectronics in semiconductor technologies with exceptional electrical properties. Scaling the CNT -FET fabrication enables the expansion of the application fields. However, placing nanotubes with uniform alignment and controlled density to the electrode contacts has been the maj or challenge in massive manufacturing. Here, we introduce the in-place inkjet-printing method for fabricating CNTFETs with controlled numbers of connected CNTs at a single CNT level. A picoliter (pL) drop of CNT ink is printed to the pre-patterned electrode arrays in parallel over a four-inch silicon wafer, allowing adaptive manufacturing without additional lithographic processes. Drops form thin films on the metal electrode patterns driven by the surface tension flow, diluting the surface density of CNT on the one-micrometer channel gap and avoiding bundled coffee ring edges. Finally, single CNTs are correctly bridged to the electrodes with high statistical yield. This process enables reproducible and high-throughput single CNT deposition, integrating into the FET manufacturing process, and can be used for versatile nanoelectronics applications, such as biosensors. © 2023 IEEE.

A Stability Condition for Asynchronous and Aperiodic Sampled-Data Cyber-Physical systems Under DoS Attacks

This paper is concerned with the stability problem of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) exposed to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. In-depth analysis and discussion are made under practical constraints of asynchronous and aperiodic sampling with measurement errors. DoS attacks, which are supposed to be aperiodic, interrupt communication on control channels. A sufficient condition in terms of DoS attack duration and frequency is derived to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the system by combining the Lyapunov’s method, inequality techniques and an iterative method. The stability result is applicable to the estimation of the maximum allowable sampling intervals which are closely related to the convergence speed, and characterizes the trade-off between communication resources and stability performance. Finally, the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis is verified by two simulation examples. © 2023 IEEE.
