Evolutionary reinforcement learning algorithms (ERLs), which combine evolutionary algorithms (EAs) with reinforcement learning (RL), have demonstrated significant success in enhancing RL performance. However, most ERLs rely heavily on Gaussian mutation operators to generate new individuals. When the standard deviation is too large or small, this approach will result in the production of poor or highly similar offspring. Such outcomes can be detrimental to the learning process of the RL agent, as too many poor or similar experiences are generated by these individuals. In order to alleviate these issues, this paper proposes an Adaptive Evolutionary Reinforcement Learning (AERL) method that adaptively adjusts both the standard deviation and the evaluation process. By tracking the performance of new individuals, AERL maintains the mutation strength within a suitable range without the need for additional gradient computations. Moreover, the proposed AERL approach early terminates unnecessary evaluations and discards experiences arising from poor individuals, thereby resulting in enhanced learning efficiency. Empirical assessments conducted on a variety of continuous control problems demonstrate the effectiveness of the AERL method.

Existing 3D point cloud-based facial recognition struggles to fully leverage both global and local information inherent in the 3D point cloud data. In this paper, we introduce the PointFaceFormer, the first Transformer model designed for 3D point cloud face recognition. It incorporates an attention mechanism based on dot product and cosine functions to construct a similarity Transformer architecture, which effectively extracts both local and global features from the point cloud data. Experimental results demonstrate that PointFaceFormer achieves a recognition accuracy of 89.08% and a verification accuracy of 76.93% on the large-scale facial point cloud dataset Lock3DFace, which is a new state-of-the-art in 3D face recognition. Furthermore, PointFaceFormer exhibits excellent generalization performance on cross-quality datasets. Additionally, we validate the effectiveness of the attention mechanism through ablation experiments, which justify the effectiveness of the proposed modules.

In this paper, we present a new approach to estimate the pose of an object being manipulated by a multi-fingered robotic hand. The method utilizes advanced tactile sensors with high spatial resolution to optimize the estimation of the object's pose using an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) based approach. We defined and derived the state and measurement equations, as well as evaluated the estimation accuracy in grasping tasks. The approach is able to effectively account for the pose transition caused by tactile pushing, and the mapping from the object's pose to the contact position and normal direction as measured by the tactile sensor. The method was evaluated in multiple grasping experiments in simulation scenarios. Results show that the estimation can converge towards the ground truth in a relatively short period of time, with displacement and rotation errors remaining within acceptable levels. This new method has the potential to improve the accuracy and reliability of robotic grasping and manipulation tasks. © 2023 IEEE.

Multimodal Sentiment Analysis is a burgeoning research area, leveraging various modalities to predict the sentiment score. Nevertheless, previous studies have disregarded the impact of noise interference on specific modal sentiments during video recording, thereby compromising the accuracy of sentiment prediction. In this paper, we propose the Guided Circular Decomposition and Cross-Modal Recombination (GCD-CMR) model, which aims to eliminate contaminated sentiment features in a fine-grained way. To achieve this, we utilize tailored global information specific to each modality to guide the circular decomposing process in the GCD module, to produce a set of sentiment prototypes. Subsequently, in the CMR module, we align cross-modal sentiment prototypes and remove the contaminated prototypes for recombination. Experimental results on two publicly available datasets demonstrate that our model surpasses state-of-the-art models, confirming the effectiveness of our proposed method. In Information Centric Networking(ICN)where content is the object of exchange,in-network caching is a unique functional feature with the ability to handle data storage and distribution in remote sensing satellite *** up cache space at any node enables users to access data nearby,thus relieving the processing pressure on the ***,the existing caching strategies still suffer from the lack of global planning of cache contents and low utilization of cache resources due to the lack of fine-grained division of cache *** address the issues mentioned,a cooperative caching strategy(CSTL)for remote sensing satellite networks based on a two-layer caching model is *** two-layer caching model is constructed by setting up separate cache spaces in the satellite network and the ground *** caching of popular contents in the region at the ground station to reduce the access delay of users.A content classification method based on hierarchical division is proposed in the satellite network,and differential probabilistic caching is employed for different levels of *** cached content is also dynamically adjusted by analyzing the subsequent changes in the popularity of the cached *** the two-layer caching model,ground stations and satellite networks collaboratively cache to achieve global planning of cache contents,rationalize the utilization of cache resources,and reduce the propagation delay of remote sensing *** results show that the CSTL strategy not only has a high cache hit ratio compared with other caching strategies but also effectively reduces user request delay and server load,which satisfies the timeliness requirement of remote sensing data transmission.

Medical report generation is crucial for clinical diagnosis and patient management, summarizing diagnoses and recommendations based on medical imaging. However, existing work often overlook the clinical pipeline involved in report writing, where physicians typically conduct an initial quick review followed by a detailed examination. Moreover, current alignment methods may lead to misaligned relationships. To address these issues, we propose DAMPER, a dual-stage framework for medical report generation that mimics the clinical pipeline of report writing in two stages. In the first stage, a MeSH-Guided Coarse-Grained Alignment (MCG) stage that aligns chest X-ray (CXR) image features with medical subject headings (MeSH) features to generate a rough keyphrase representation of the overall impression. In the second stage, a Hypergraph-Enhanced Fine-Grained Alignment (HFG) stage that constructs hypergraphs for image patches and report annotations, modeling high-order relationships within each modality and performing hypergraph matching to capture semantic correlations between image regions and textual phrases. Finally,the coarse-grained visual features, generated MeSH representations, and visual hypergraph features are fed into a report decoder to produce the final medical report. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DAMPER in generating comprehensive and accurate medical reports, outperforming state-of-the-art methods across various evaluation metrics. Explainable recommendation systems, which can produce high-accuracy recommendations and help users make quick decisions, have become a hotspot in research field. Most of existing research algorithms committed to improving the accuracy of recommendation, but ignored the interpretability of recommendation. We propose a semantic recommendation algorithm through Reinforcement Learning and weighted meta-paths which analyzes and selects the meta-path, and uses Reinforcement Learning network to train the weight of meta-path. This method can effectively solve data sparsity, improve the accuracy of recommendation, and increase interpretability. Compared with the baseline method, indicators of the recommended methods for integrating Reinforcement Learning with Heterogeneous Information Networks have been greatly improved, as verified and compared on a real MovieLens 1M dataset. Experimental results prove that the algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy and interpretability of the recommendation. © 2022 SPIE.

Health has recently faced many challenges, including improving a healthy environment and reducing human life's dangers and economic crises. The last pandemic COVID-19 had badly affected survivor sectors with infection and lockdown exigence. Scientists proposed several solutions to reduce the negative impact of a such pandemic by proposing systems for earlier detection of viruses. The use of metamaterials as an emerging technology in the biosensors field allows a high accuracy. This paper presents a method for detecting and capturing airborne viruses using metasurface technology. The goal is to develop a system that can identify and capture these viruses using FET sensors. The accuracy of the detection is tied to the concentration of aerosols. The model proposes a guided flow of aerosols that positively impacts the detection of viruses through the FET biosensor. The simulation results based on Concentration and airflow velocity delays prove the proposed model's performance. © 2022 IEEE.
