sEMG (surface electromyography) signal control of bionic prostheses has been widely studied over the past few years. In particular, sparse sEMG signals are rapidly developing in the field of gesture recognition for their convenience, noninvasiveness, and ease of access. However, compared with high-density EMG signals, sparse EMG signals lack rich feature information, which in turn affects gesture recognition accuracy. In order to reduce the loss of feature information of sparse EMG signals in the spatio-temporal dimension, this paper proposes a hybrid neural network Res-LSTM combining residual network and long short-term memory network. The ordinary convolutional blocks in the CNN network are replaced with residual blocks, and the final fully connected layer is removed and a constant mapping layer is added to adequate extraction of spatial feature information of the data. The Res layer’s output is utilized as the input for the long and short-term memory (LSTM) network, which further extracts the features of the data in the temporal dimension, and finally completes the categorization output through a fully connected layer. The average accuracy of 91.11% for gesture-motion classification was verified by training on a homebrew dataset;and tested on a public dataset, NinaPro DB1, with an average accuracy of 91.03%. The experimental findings indicate that the proposed Res-LSTM network framework contributes to solving the problem of lack of feature information of sparse sEMG signals and improves the pattern recognition accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The complexity and diversity of smart grid systems increase the likelihood of anomalies in communications between devices in the system, and how these anomalies are detected is critical to the security of the grid system. However, the distribution of traffic types in the grid is often highly unbalanced, with the total amount of normal traffic data often far outweighing the anomalous data. This imbalance compromises the effectiveness of the detection model and poses a significant threat to the overall security of the grid. This paper improves on traditional conditional generation adversarial neural networks and designs a new approach to overcome this obstacle and enhance the security of smart grid systems. In the generator part, the spatial features of the data are captured by convolutional neural networks, and the temporal features of the data are captured by gated recurrent units. By integrating these two components into the generative network, we can generate synthetic data with both temporal and spatial features, thus enhancing the minority class samples. By incorporating the augmented minority data into the training process, the proposed approach enables the detection model to understand the distribution of features of the minority anomaly samples more accurately. This improved learning accuracy translates into improved model performance, resulting in higher detection rates for previously under-represented anomalies. In addition, our approach effectively addresses the inherent bias towards traffic types with higher flows typically observed in asymmetric datasets, thus providing a more equitable and comprehensive security solution for smart grid systems.

Distinguishing the manifestations of pulmonary nodules poses a significant challenge in the medical field, demanding the expertise of experienced radiologists. This complexity results in the high cost and inadequacy of sample labeling. In response, this study introduces a reinforcement learning approach, denoted as TriCaps-RL, for the classification of pulmonary nodules based on CT signs. This approach initially employs the Q-value loss to train a single CapsNet. When the performance of the CapsNet plateaus and further enhancement becomes challenging, the loss function is progressively replaced by a triplet metric to augment performance. Consequently, a more nuanced differentiation among various types of pulmonary nodules is achieved. The proposed method can improve its performance through interactions with radiologists during their CT image reading process, thereby mitigating the shortage of radiologists and addressing the time-consuming issue of training sample labeling in medical image research. This paper delves into the fine-grained classification of pulmonary nodules using deep reinforcement learning based on CT imaging signs. In comparison to previous studies that primarily concentrate on the benign/malignant classification of lung nodules, this fine-grained classification of nodules founded on CT imaging signs proves to be more valuable for medical practitioners in making accurate diagnostic decisions. © 2024, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. As the mean-time-between-failures(MTBF)continues to decline with the increasing number of components on large-scale high performance computing(HPC)systems,program failures might occur during the execution period with high *** successful execution of the HPC programs has become an issue that the unprivileged users should be *** the user perspective,if the program failure cannot be detected and handled in time,it would waste resources and delay the progress of program ***,the unprivileged users are unable to perform program state checking due to execution control by the job management system as well as the limited ***,automated tools for supporting user-level failure detection and autorecovery of parallel programs in HPC systems are *** paper proposes an innovative method for the unprivileged user to achieve failure detection of job execution and automatic resubmission of failed *** state checker in our method is encapsulated as an independent job to reduce interference with the user *** addition,we propose a dual-checker mechanism to improve the robustness of our *** implement the proposed method as a tool named automatic re-launcher(ARL)and evaluate it on the Tianhe-2 *** results show that ARL can detect the execution failures effectively on Tianhe-2 *** addition,the communication and performance overhead caused by ARL is *** good scalability of ARL makes it applicable for large-scale HPC systems.

The annotation of Open Reading Frames (ORFs) is a crucial step in gene annotation, as it precisely delineates the specific regions of expressed genes. However, small Open Reading Frames (smORFs), in comparison to ORFs, are shorter in length, exhibit lower expression abundance, and are more challenging to predict. Particularly in the presence of noise in prokaryotic data and limited availability of positive sample data, the difficulty of prediction is amplified. Therefore, it is necessary to study smORF prediction methods. However, current machine learning models use limited data for modeling and overlook the existence of undiscovered positive samples within the negative samples. Additionally, they do not incorporate prior knowledge that can be calibrated to enhance the 3-nt periodicity. This work utilizes a multimodal VAE for data dimensionality reduction and employs a GAN to generate latent vectors for data augmentation. It incorporates PU learning to leverage unknown samples and combines Riboseq data from experiments with and without antibiotic treatment. Additionally, an adversarial training mechanism is employed to enhance the model’s robustness.

The main objective of this work was to find the association rules between factors affecting user satisfaction in software project by using an association rule discovery technique. Data from 191 software projects were collected and association rules between 15 Selected factors were discovered by FP-growth algorithm. Primarily, 281 association rules were discovered. Rules that were not directly related to user satisfaction were filtered out by simple criteria. In the end, 11 final association rules that passed those criteria were obtained with an average confidence value of 65.30%. These rules can incorporated in the planning and administration of a software project to gain utmost user satisfaction © 2021 IEEE.

To reasonably improve the missing attribute data and effectively integrate sample data and uncertain expert knowledge, this paper proposes a new fault diagnosis method based on a belief rule base (BRB). In the case of missing attribute data, the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method is used to complete the missing attribute data, and the fault diagnosis method of the multi-UAVs is constructed by using other complete attribute data as the input information of BRB. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experimental simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

Most of the detection methods against DDoS attacks are based on periodic detection, which leads to high communication overhead, untimely detection, and slow attack response. This paper proposes a passive abnormality detection approach. First, we record the two flow-table characteristics of the regular switches. Then, based on dynamic threshold method and Grubbs outlier test method, we make a determination of abnormal switches. This method reduces the amount of data duplication and regular traffic collection. Moreover, we use Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to evaluate the performance of the passive anomaly detection method.
