Advertising attribution is an effective method to measure the effect of various advertisements in the era of Internet advertising. It enables scientific tracking back and refined operation of advertising by quantitatively evaluating the contribution of different advertising channels to reach the target. It is challenging to predict conversion results based on users' journey data accurately, reflect the impact of ads on user conversions, and appropriately assign attribution values to advertising channels. To achieve the above objectives, we propose an advertising attribution method based on a temporal convolutional network with an attention mechanism (Att-TCN). By mining the hidden information in time and attribution channels using the attention mechanism, our proposed method can improve the accuracy of conversion prediction and thus more rationally assign attribution values across channels. Experimental validation on a real dataset obtained from an operational commercial advertising monitoring company shows that our proposed attribution method has better accuracy than other state-of-the-art attribution methods and gives an open-ended approach to attribution value assignment.

With the maturity of depth sensors, the vulnerability of 3D point cloud models has received increasing attention in various applications such as autonomous driving and robot navigation. Previous 3D adversarial attackers either follow the white-box setting to iteratively update the coordinate perturbations based on gradients, or utilize the output model logits to estimate noisy gradients in the black-box setting. However, these attack methods are hard to be deployed in real-world scenarios since realistic 3D applications will not share any model details to users. Therefore, we explore a more challenging yet practical 3D attack setting, i.e., attacking point clouds with black-box hard labels, in which the attacker can only have access to the prediction label of the input. To tackle this setting, we propose a novel 3D attack method, termed 3D Hard-label attacker (3DHacker), based on the developed decision boundary algorithm to generate adversarial samples solely with the knowledge of class labels. Specifically, to construct the class-aware model decision boundary, 3DHacker first randomly fuses two point clouds of different classes in the spectral domain to craft their intermediate sample with high imperceptibility, then projects it onto the decision boundary via binary search. To restrict the final perturbation size, 3DHacker further introduces an iterative optimization strategy to move the intermediate sample along the decision boundary for generating adversarial point clouds with smallest trivial perturbations. Extensive evaluations show that, even in the challenging hard-label setting, 3DHacker still competitively outperforms existing 3D attacks regarding the attack performance as well as adversary quality.

SFDA-rPPG: Source-Free Domain Adaptive Remote Physiological Measurement with Spatio-Temporal Consistency

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method that uses facial video to predict changes in blood volume, enabling physiological metrics measurement. Traditional rPPG models often struggle with poor generalization capacity in unseen domains. Current solutions to this problem is to improve its generalization in the target domain through Domain Generalization (DG) or Domain Adaptation (DA). However, both traditional methods require access to both source domain data and target domain data, which cannot be implemented in scenarios with limited access to source data, and another issue is the privacy of accessing source domain data. In this paper, we propose the first Source-free Domain Adaptation benchmark for rPPG measurement (SFDA-rPPG), which overcomes these limitations by enabling effective domain adaptation without access to source domain data. Our framework incorporates a Three-Branch Spatio-Temporal Consistency Network (TSTC-Net) to enhance feature consistency across domains. Furthermore, we propose a new rPPG distribution alignment loss based on the Frequency-domain Wasserstein Distance (FWD), which leverages optimal transport to align power spectrum distributions across domains effectively and further enforces the alignment of the three branches. Extensive cross-domain experiments and ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method in source-free domain adaptation settings. Our findings highlight the significant contribution of the proposed FWD loss for distributional alignment, providing a valuable reference for future research and applications. Sampled-data control is continually under research exploration and development to optimally coordinate the limited communication resources in networked control systems. In this paper, a novel switching asynchronous sampleddata framework with double-checking consisting of two distinct sampling schemes is proposed. An established method involves designing the switching sampling scheme with event-triggered and time-triggered mechanisms. We also introduce the concept of switching event-triggered control (SETC), by which a positive minimum sampling interval can be guaranteed effectively. By an integral method and Barbalat's Lemma, sufficient conditions that ensure the stability of interconnected linear systems are derived under the SETC. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Field effect transistor (FET)-based biosensors can accurately quantify changes in weak signals and show excellent performance advantages in the detection of trace biological disease markers. Biological functionalization (biofunctionalization) is an important factor in the fabrication of FET-based biosensors, which directly affects the performance of the biosensor. However, little attention from researchers has been paid to biofunctionalization, which results in uneven performance of biosensors. Herein, MoS2-based FET biosensors are designed and fabricated using four different biofunctionalization methods. The most suitable biofunctionalization method is obtained by comparing the sensing performances of different functionalized MoS2based FET biosensors. Moreover, the working mechanism of the optimized biofunctionalization method is explored. Besides, the biofunctionalization-optimized MoS2-based FET biosensor exhibits excellent sensing performance, achieving sensitive detection of Tau protein in the concentration range of 10-2~103 pg/mL. This study provides a universal and effective strategy for the biofunctionalization optimization of two-dimensional materials-based FET biosensors. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Since the cumbersome collection process and high cost, the collected degradation of the product is basically small samples, which will affect the accuracy of reliability evaluation. It is necessary to expand the degradation to improve the accuracy of later reliability assessment. Therefore, a degradation generation and prediction method is proposed combining the time series generator adversarial network (TimeGAN) and stochastic process. Firstly, the input degradation is expanded by the sliding window to improve the later training accuracy; Then, the construction of the generator in TimeGAN is linked with the stochastic process to make the generation data more realistic. Finally, the results of degradation prediction by the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) can be obtained. Two datasets and different generation methods are adopted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results shows that the Kullback-Leibler(KL) divergence is the smallest, and the prediction error is the smallest compared with the other methods. So, the proposed method is proved that it is valid in the degradation generation and prediction, and can be used for the further reliability assessment of the product in the industrial system.

Backdoor attacks in federated learning (FL) face challenges such as lower attack success rates and compromised main task accuracy (MA) compared to local training. Existing methods like distributed backdoor attack (DBA) mitigate these issues by modifying malicious clients’ updates and partitioning global triggers to enhance backdoor persistence and stealth. The recent full combination backdoor attack (FCBA) further improves backdoor efficiency with a full combination strategy. However, these methods are mainly applicable in small-scale FL. In large-scale FL, small trigger patterns weaken impact, and scaling them requires controlling exponentially more clients, which poses significant challenges, while simply reverting to DBA may decrease backdoor performance. To overcome these challenges, we propose the self-adaptive distributed backdoor attack (SADBA), which achieves similar performance to FCBA with a lower percentage of malicious clients (PMC). It also adapts more flexibly through an optimized model poisoning strategy and a self-adaptive data poisoning strategy. Experiments demonstrate SADBA outperforms state-of-the-art methods, achieving higher or comparable backdoor performance and MA across various datasets with limited PMC. Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines have emerged as highly effective strategies in the prophylaxis and treatment of diseases. mRNA design, a key to the success of mRNA vaccines, in-volves finding optimal codons and increasing secondary structure stability to lengthen mRNA half-life, ultimately enhancing protein expression. Despite receiving widespread attention, most methods primarily rely on manual design, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. While optimization approaches can alleviate this issue, existing methods still exhibit critical limitations caused by conflicts between codon usage and mRNA structural stability, compounded by the vast design space of mRNA resulting from the presence of synonymous codons. In this paper, a novel multi-objective evolutionary optimization-based mRNA design method is proposed. We first formulate the mRNA design problem as a multi-objective optimization problem and then develop an Elite Archive-Assisted Multi-Objective Evolutionary algorithm for mRNA Design, namely EAA-MOED, by incorporating a novel elite archive-assisted method into a weighted optimization framework to improve search efficiency. Experimental studies, involving two state-of-the-art mRNA design methods and five well-known MOEAs, show the competitiveness of the proposed EAA-MOED in mRNA design.

Real-world data often have a long-tailed and open-ended distribution. A reliable practical machine learning system need to learn from the majority classes and also generalize to minority *** achieve this, acknowledge the minority and the novel class samples, and avoid misclassifying them into one of the majority classes are of great significance. Long-tailed Open Set Recognition aims to learn from the naturally distributed long-tailed and open-ended data, by using the easy-gained head class samples to learn the fundamental information, and also try to improve the out-of-distribution generalization ability by identifying the tail class and open-set class samples as novelty to avoid the misclassification. The key challenges for long-tailed open set recognition is the tail and open-set sensitivity, since they can be easily biased towards dominant classes and perform ineffectively on close-set dataset classes. Inspired by techniques on open set recognition, in this paper, we propose a Class-aware Input Preprocessing (CLAIP) approach to improve the detection of the Out-of-distribution samples by perturbing the input images. In this approach, we employ two techniques to leverage its performance. First, we introduce the middle class samples as auxiliary data during the network training process to force each category's boundaries. Second, we add a Class-aware Input Preprocessing module that can be easily plugged into the testing process by perturbing the salient regions of the input images to further improve the out-of-distribution generalization. The experimental results show that CLAIP achieves high quality and significant performance compared to the existing solutions. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Reinforced Heterogeneous Graphlet Design for Knowledge Graph Representation Learning

Knowledge Graphs have been practical tools to represent and integrate plentiful structural and semantic information in mainstream industrial scenarios. While promising, the heterogeneity and complexity of KGs pose a formidable obstacle, especially for graph representation learning. Most existing KG embedding models omit the dynamic high-order connectivity patterns, and heavily rely on the handcrafted patterns to handle the complex semantic relationships, thereby limiting their ability to adaptively capture nuanced and intricate relationships of knowledge graphs in different tasks. To fill this gap, we present ReHGD — a model designed for KGs that focuses on adaptively designing typed graphlets through a cooperative Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning algorithm. This approach can learn more discriminative graph representations tailored to specific downstream tasks. Specifically, ReHGD engages in the creation of typed graphlets through a two-stage process: it (1) establishes a reinforced chain design module to generate chains without predefined rules, and (2) employs a buffer-aware sampling technique to derive episodic chains from prior experiences. Subsequently, motifs are deduced by applying commute count and Hadamard product operations to the episodic chain-based subgraphs. Finally, ReHGD utilize chain and motif aggregations to learn graph representations. Experimental results on three real-world KGs show that ReHGD outperforms baselines on entity classification. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
