In recent years, the distributed-observer-based distributed control law has shown powerful ability to arbitrarily approximate the centralized control performance. However, the traditional distributed observer requires each local observer to reconstruct the state information of the whole system, which is unrealistic for large-scale scenarios. To fill this gap, this paper develops a greedy-idea-based large-scale system partition algorithm, which can significantly reduce the dimension of local observers. Then, the partitioned distributed observer for large-scale systems is proposed to overcome the problem that the system dynamics are difficult to estimate due to the coupling between partitions. Furthermore, the two-layer Lyapunov analysis method is adopted and the dynamic transformation lemma of compact errors is proved, which solves the problem of analyzing stability of the error dynamic of the partitioned distributed observer. Finally, it is proved that the distributed control law based on the partitioned distributed observer can also arbitrarily approximate the control performance of the centralized control law, and the dimension of the local observer is greatly reduced compared with the traditional method. The simulation results show that when the similarity between the physical network and the communication network is about 80%, the local observer dimension is greatly reduced by 90% and the relative error between the performance of the distributed control law and that of the centralized control law is less than 1%. © 2024, CC BY.

Prototype learning is widely used in face recognition, which takes the row vectors of coefficient matrix in the last linear layer of the feature extraction model as the prototypes for each class. When the prototypes are updated using the facial sample feature gradients in the model training, they are prone to being pulled away from the class center by the hard samples, resulting in decreased overall model performance. this paper, we explicitly define prototypes as the expectations of sample features in each class and design the empirical prototypes using the existing samples in the dataset. We then devise a strategy to adaptively update these empirical prototypes during the model training based on the similarity between the sample features and the empirical prototypes. Furthermore, we propose an empirical prototype learning (EPL) method, which utilizes an adaptive margin parameter with respect to sample features. EPL assigns larger margins to the normal samples and smaller margins to the hard samples, allowing the learned empirical prototypes to better reflect the class center dominated by the normal samples and finally pull the hard samples towards the empirical prototypes through the learning. extensive experiments on MFR, IJB-C, LFW, CFP-FP, AgeDB, and MegaFace demonstrate the effectiveness of EPL. Model-Driven Inverse Lithography Via Hypergraph Convolutional Neural Networks and its Experimental Demonstration

Inverse lithography technology (ILT) is a pivotal approach to correct the optical proximity effect in a lithography process by optimizing the mask pattern at the pixel level. However, traditional ILT algorithms are computationally intensive due to the huge data volume throughput. This paper proposes a novel ILT method based on model-driven hypergraph convolutional network (MHGCN) to improve the computational efficiency and lithography image fidelity simultaneously. In the MHGCN framework, a dense concentric circular sampling (DCCS) template is first used to extract the feature matrices of the target layout, which are then imported to a hyperedge graph convolutional network (encoder) to predict the ILT result. Then, a lithography-model-based decoder is used to calculate the wafer image of the ILT mask. A low-cost unsupervised training method of the network is developed through the collaboration between the encoder and decoder. To demonstrate the proposed method, a digital-micromirror-device (DMD) maskless lithography testbed is established, and the imaging model of the testbed is calibrated based on a set of training layout patterns. The superiority of the proposed method in both of optimization capacity and computational efficiency are proved by the simulation and experimental results. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

To address the challenges of gesture recognition accuracy within human-computer interaction technologies, and to overcome the limitations of single-modal biometric feature recognition - which often falls short in practical applications, this paper introduces a multimodal feature fusion classification algorithm, sEMG-vision Tra. This algorithm aims to integrate different types of biometric data, thereby enhancing the robustness and effectiveness of gesture recognition. Initially, we utilize the Mediapipe framework to extract skeletal point data from images of the human hand. The next process involves calculating distance and angle features between skeletal points, as well as extracting time-domain features from surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals. Following this, features from these two modalities are concatenated along the feature dimension and then linearly projected onto the target dimension. To effectively capture the intricate interrelationships among these features, we employ a multi-layer Transformer encoder for encoding the combined features. The encoded features are subsequently mapped to the final output dimension. The effectiveness of our approach is demonstrated through validation on a custom dataset. This algorithm's key contribution lies in the fusion of two distinct modal features, images and EMG signals, to achieve a more holistic and precise feature representation. By this, it significantly enhances our ability to capture the essential information for applications like gesture recognition or human-computer interaction. The algorithm showcases exceptional performance, achieving a noteworthy accuracy rate of 95.56% on a custom dataset.

Nighttime Semantic Segmentation (NSS) is essential to many cutting-edge vision applications. However, existing technologies overly rely on massive labeled data, whose annotation is time-consuming and laborious. In this paper, we pioneer a new task focusing on exploring the potential of training strategy and framework design with limited annotation to achieve high-performance NSS. Insufficient information at very low labeling budgets can easily lead to under-optimization or overfitting of the model. Our solution comprises two main components: i) a novel region-based active sampling strategy called Contextual-Aware Region Query (CARQ), which identifies highly informative target nighttime regions for labeling;and ii) an innovative Fragmentation Synergy Active Domain Adaptation framework (FS-ADA), which progressively broadcasts the limited annotation to the unlabeled regions, achieving high performance with a minimal annotation budget. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art UDA-NSS & ADA-SS methods across four day-to-nighttime benchmarks, and generalizes well to foggy, rainy, & snowy scenes. In particular only with 1% target nighttime data annotation, our method is on par with the mainstream fully-supervised methods on the BDD100K-Night val dataset. Automating smart Internet of Things devices in modern homes using context-based fuzzy logic

Internet of Things (IoT) is mainly used to connect different embedded objects over the internet to make communication between them possible. With the help of IoT, devices find a way to interact, work together, and study from each other's experiences just like humans do. IoT finds its way in applications such as smart home, smart city, healthcare, agriculture, and so on. The name smart home arises due to the automation of the normal home appliances to make it smart. When the devices of the normal smart home are connected via the internet, they become a part of the IoT. The smart home should ensure the following characteristics such as security, comfort, convenience, and energy saving. The article presents a technique for IoT controlled devices in a smart home using context-based fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is mainly used to monitor and analyze the real-time data collected from the sensors in the smart homes from various environments. Context-based fuzzy logic uses a multivalued logic principle which differs from the normal Boolean logic, where the truth value lies between only zero and one (ie, true or false). The proposed smart home is implemented in a real case scenario where it yields an accuracy of 90.5%, response time of 6.41 milliseconds, and an F-measure of 97%. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals LLC.

On January 7,2025,an Ms6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County,Xigaze City,Xizang Autonomous *** epicenter,located near the Shenzha-Dingjie fault zone at the boundary between the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the Indian Plate,marked the largest earthquake in the region in recent *** Shenzha-Dingjie fault zone,situated at the boundary between the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the Indian Plate,is a key tectonic feature in the India-Eurasia collision process,characterized by active structural deformation manifested as both thrust and strike-slip *** study analyzed the disaster characteristics induced by the earthquake using differential synthetic aperture radar interferometry (D-InSAR) to process Sentinel-1 satellite data and derive pre-and post-earthquake surface deformation ***,high-resolution optical remote sensing data,UAV imagery,and airborne Li DAR data were employed to analyze the spatial distribution of the surface rupture zone,with field investigations validating the *** results include:(1) Potential landslide hazard points identified through optical image interpretation did not show secondary landslide activity upon field verification;(2) D-InSAR revealed the co-seismic surface deformation pattern,providing detailed deformation information for the Dingri region;(3) Integration of LiDAR and optical imagery further refined and validated surface rupture characteristics identified by optical-InSAR,indicating a predominantly north-south rupture ***,surface rupture features extending in a near east-west direction were observed on the southeast side of the epicenter,accompanied by some infrastructure damage;(4) Surface rupture was most severe in high-intensity seismic areas near the epicenter,with the maximum surface displacement approximately 28 km from the *** earthquake-induced surface deformation zone spanned approximately 6 km by 46 km,with deformation concentrated primarily on the western side

With the high integration of power electronic technologies in microgrids,the reliability assessment considering power electronic devices has become a hot ***,so far no research has considered the impact of the operation failure probability of power electronic equipment on the overall reliability of the *** paper aims to construct a holistic operation failure rate model of power electronic systems based on the overall reliability assessment of islanded microgrid with high penetration of renewable energy sources(RESs).In addition,to improve the reliability of islanded microgrid,the conventional battery energy storage system(BESS)is replaced by the hybrid energy storage system(HESS).Based on the proposed model,the operation failure models for the power electronic modules in microgrid are built and tested,and then the sensitivity analysis is performed for exploring the influence of various factors on the reliability of the microgrid.

The natural bijection between a proposed circuit design and its graph representation shall allow any graph optimization algorithm deploying into many-core systems efficiently. However, this process suffers from the exponentially growing overhead and heavy memory footprint with the signal propagation. To conquer the unique challenge, we systematically study the simulation with millions of gates, and identify that the processing complexity could grow exponentially from the signal inputs, the skewness of the computational graph stays. Thus, we present ZhouBi, a fast and scalable gate-level simulation framework to fully exploit the parallelism from many-core systems. ZhouBi contributes in threefolds, (I) a graph representation that colors gate-level netlists and identifies skew partitions based on the graph skewness; (II) A set of heuristic algorithms that picks opportunistic and conservative algorithms to accelerate the simulation; (III) A system facility that supports selective mapping between simulation and many-core, providing a tradeoff between the risk of concurrent simulation fail and performance gain. We have prototyped ZhouBi and evaluated it with practical baselines. ZhouBi can achieve a 27.6× performance gain, as compared to the state-of-the-practice Veriwell without compromising any correctness. Our framework supports large graphs enabling scale-out gate-level simulations for chip design.
