High-fidelity kinship face synthesis has many potential applications, such as kinship verification, missing child identification, and social media analysis. However, it is challenging to synthesize high-quality descendant faces with genetic relations due to the lack of large-scale, high-quality annotated kinship data. This paper proposes RFG (Region-level Facial Gene) extraction framework to address this issue. We propose to use IGE (Image-based Gene Encoder), LGE (Latent-based Gene Encoder) and Gene Decoder to learn the RFGs of a given face image, and the relationships between RFGs and the latent space of Style-GAN2. As cycle-like losses are designed to measure the $\mathcal{L}_{2}$ distances between the output of Gene Decoder and image encoder, and that between the output of LGE and IGE, only face images are required to train our framework, i.e. no paired kinship face data is required. Based upon the proposed RFGs, a crossover and mutation module is further designed to inherit the facial parts of parents. A Gene Pool has also been used to introduce the variations into the mutation of RFGs. The diversity of the faces of descendants can thus be significantly increased. Qualitative, quantitative, and subjective experiments on FIW, TSKinFace, and FF-Databases clearly show that the quality and diversity of kinship faces generated by our approach are much better than the existing state-of-the-art methods.

Large scale artificial intelligence (AI) models possess excellent capabilities in semantic representation and understanding, making them particularly well-suited for semantic encoding and decoding. However, the substantial scale of these AI models imposes unacceptable computational resources and communication delays. To address this issue, we propose a semantic communication scheme based on robust knowledge distillation (RKD-SC) for large scale model enabled semantic communications. In the considered system, a transmitter extracts the features of the source image for robust transmission and accurate image classification at the receiver. To effectively utilize the superior capability of large scale model while make the cost affordable, we first transfer knowledge from a large scale model to a smaller scale model to serve as the semantic encoder. Then, to enhance the robustness of the system against channel noise, we propose a channel-aware autoencoder (CAA) based on the Transformer architecture. Experimental results show that the encoder of proposed RKD-SC system can achieve over 93.3% of the performance of a large scale model while compressing 96.67% number of parameters. With the development of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology, Dynamic SLAM has been a challenging research topic. This paper presents a dynamic probability fusion SLAM (DPF-SLAM) algorithm, which adds a semantic segmentation thread and a dense reconstruction thread to ORB-SLAM2. We integrate dynamic prior probability obtained by semantic segmentation with dynamic probability obtained by dynamic point detection, which can decrease the effect of dynamic objects on the localization accuracy and meanwhile achieve the dense reconstruction of a static background. We evaluate DPF-SLAM system on the public TUM RGBD dataset. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better localization accuracy than DS-SLAM and ORB-SLAM2, which are two relatively new algorithms in this area, and can obtain a good dense reconstruction effect. Moreover, through the performance comparison with our previous work, it is found that the algorithm speed and positioning accuracy are improved. © 2022 IEEE.

The task of detecting fraud in credit card transactions is crucial to ensure the security and stability of a financial system, as well as to enforce customer confidence in digital payment systems. Historically, credit card companies have used rule-based approaches to detect fraudulent transactions, but these have proven inadequate due to the complexity of fraud strategies and have been replaced by much more powerful solutions based on machine learning or deep learning algorithms. Despite significant progress, the current approaches to fraud detection suffer from a number of limitations: for example, it is unclear whether some transaction features are more effective than others in discriminating fraudulent transactions, and they often neglect possible correlations among transactions, even though they could reveal illicit behaviour. In this paper, we propose a novel credit card fraud detection (CCFD) method based on a transaction behaviour-based hierarchical gated network. First, we introduce a feature-oriented extraction module capable of identifying key features from original transactions, and such analysis is effective in revealing the behavioural characteristics of fraudsters. Second, we design a transaction-oriented extraction module capable of capturing the correlation between users' historical and current transactional behaviour. Such information is crucial for revealing users' sequential behaviour patterns. Our approach, called transactional-behaviour-based hierarchical gated network model (TbHGN), extracts two types of new transactional features, which are then combined in a feature interaction module to learn the final transactional representations used for CCFD. We have conducted extensive experiments on a real-world credit card transaction dataset with an increase in average F1 between 1.42% and 6.53% and an improvement in average AUC between 0.63% and 2.78% over the state of the art. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Accurate prediction of aeroengine Remaining Useful Life (RUL) is critical for ensuring flight safety, minimizing maintenance costs, and improving operational efficiency. This study proposes a novel model, the Fourier-Enhanced Inverted Transformer with Graph-Augmented Spatiotemporal Modeling (FIT-GSTM), to enhance RUL prediction performance. FIT-GSTM combines an inverted Transformer with a Spatiotemporal Graph Convolutional Network (STGCN) to effectively capture global spatiotemporal dependencies across multi-sensor data. To further enrich feature representation, the model incorporates Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to extract frequency-domain information and fuses it with time-domain features, enhancing robustness to noise. Additionally, the integration of Memory Tokens and Reversible Instance Normalization (RevIN) strengthens the model's ability to retain long-term dependencies and adapt to heterogeneous data distributions. Experimental evaluations on the C-MAPSS dataset demonstrate that FIT-GSTM achieves superior RUL prediction accuracy and generalization compared to existing methods, highlighting its potential for real-world deployment in aeroengine health management. © 2025 ISA

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has achieved remote diagnosis and real-time health monitoring through intelligent sensor devices and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, providing great convenience for analyzing medical conditions between doctors and patients. However, sensitive information such as patient medical data may face security challenges such as data leakage and abuse during transmission in the IoMT. To ensure the confidentiality and unforgeability of medical data transmission, scholars have proposed many cryptographic schemes. With the development of quantum computers, schemes based on traditional cryptographic primitives have become insecure. Existing cryptographic schemes for IoMT cannot simultaneously meet the security requirements of high communication performance, low computational overhead, and resistance to quantum attacks. Therefore, we propose an efficient module-lattice-based certificateless online/offline signcryption (MLCLOOSC) scheme resistant to quantum attacks while meeting the confidentiality and unforgeability requirements under Type I and Type II attacks. Compared with five recent CLOOSC schemes, theoretical analysis, and experimental test results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the other five schemes regarding computational and communication costs and security. Therefore, our scheme is more suitable for application in IoMT scenarios. © 2014 IEEE.

Currently, many researchers aim to achieve automatic depression level prediction via speech and video behavior analysis. However, previous works have struggled to decompose audio and video sequences into the information related to and unrelated to depression scores, hindering the model’s perception of depression cues. Besides, previous works implement multimodal fusion using attention mechanisms or linear layers, but failed to simultaneously consider the Euclidean relationship among tokens and the non-Euclidean relationship among channels, which bring limitations in capturing depression cues. In response to the above issues, we propose a depression scale dictionary decomposition framework, which mainly includes a Bidirectional Dictionary Decomposition (BDD) module and a Bidirectional Multimodal Fusion (BMF) module. The BDD module can use the dictionaries generated based on the depression scale to semantically decompose audio and video sequences into the information related to and unrelated to depression scores along token and channel dimensions for promoting depression cue perception. Moreover, considering the respective characteristics of tokens and channels, the BMF module uses linear layers and graph convolution to achieve cross-modal mixing, which is used to aggregate audio and video sequences for predicting depression levels. The validation on AVEC 2013, AVEC 2014 and DAIC-WOZ datasets demonstrates our method’s superiority. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

FIRE: A Dataset for Feedback Integration and Refinement Evaluation of Multimodal Models

Vision language models (VLMs) have achieved impressive progress in diverse applications, becoming a prevalent research direction. In this paper, we build FIRE, a feedback-refinement dataset, consisting of 1.1M multi-turn conversations that are derived from 27 source datasets, empowering VLMs to spontaneously refine their responses based on user feedback across diverse tasks. To scale up the data collection, FIRE is collected in two components: FIRE-100K and FIRE-1M, where FIRE-100K is generated by GPT-4V, and FIRE-1M is freely generated via models trained on FIRE-100K. Then, we build FIRE-Bench, a benchmark to comprehensively evaluate the feedback-refining capability of VLMs, which contains 11K feedback-refinement conversations as the test data, two evaluation settings, and a model to provide feedback for VLMs. We develop the FIRE-LLaVA model by fine-tuning LLaVA on FIRE-100K and FIRE-1M, which shows remarkable feedback-refining capability on FIRE-Bench and outperforms untrained VLMs by 50%, making more efficient user-agent interactions and underscoring the significance of the FIRE dataset. Comprehensive insights into electrical properties enhancement of boron‑sulfur co-doped diamond via ion implantation: First principles calculation and experimental validation

Diamond presents great potential for applications as high‑temperature and high-power electronic devices as a new generation of semiconductor material. However, the inherent low electrical conductivity limits diamond applications. This study aims to reveal the conductive mechanism of boron (B)‑sulfur (S) co-doped diamond for conductivity enhancement with density-functional theory (DFT) calculations and ion implantation experiments. Firstly, the effects of B-S co-doping on diamond's electrical properties are investigated by analyzing the band structure and electron transport at different doping ratios using DFT. Secondly, Precision doping into single-crystal diamond is achieved via ion implantation, followed by annealing to remove lattice defects. Thirdly, the lattice integrity after doping is assessed by Raman spectroscopy, the chemical compositions and bonding states are analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the electrical properties of the co-doped diamonds are evaluated by Hall effect measurements. First-principles calculations show that B-S co-doping also generates additional acceptor and donor energy levels that couple, leading to more uniformly distributed impurity levels, a narrower band gap, altered electron transitions, and coupling in specific orbitals. These modifications imply that a B:S co-doping ratio of 1:2 may be favorable for enhanced carrier activation and improved electrical transport behavior. Based on first-principles calculations and Hall effect experiments the optimal conductivity occurs at a B:S ratio of 1:2, which gives better conductivity compared to single doping or other ratios. These findings Preliminary provide complementary theoretical and experimental evidence supporting the modulation of electrical conductivity through B-S co-doping. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

EATKG: An Open-Source Efficient Exact Algorithm for the Two-Dimensional Knapsack Problem with Guillotine Constraints

This paper addresses the Two-Dimensional Knapsack Problem with Guillotine Constraints, which is a famous NP-hard problem and is commonly encountered in industries where rectangular raw materials are cut into smaller pieces using guillotine cuts. We propose an efficient exact algorithm (EATKG) to solve this problem, which incorporates advanced techniques and novel elements, including an adapted preprocessing procedure, two enhanced upper bounds, an improved bidirectional tree search approach, and an iterative combination enumeration process. These components effectively balance the computation of upper and lower bounds and handle the issue of memory overflow. We extensively evaluate EATKG on eight classic benchmark sets, comprising 1,277 instances. Our algorithm solves 87% of the instances with an average computing time of 7 seconds, and 93% with an average computing time of 49 seconds. Moreover, EATKG efficiently solves nearly all small- and medium-sized instances, providing better solutions for 46 instances and tighter upper bounds for 109 instances. These results demonstrate the superior performance of our algorithm compared to leading algorithms. To support future research, we have made the source code for the proposed algorithm, along with the corresponding instance data, aggregated results, and detailed solutions, publicly available. This will facilitate further investigations and comparisons of solution methods. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.
