The purpose of this paper is to present a new GAN-ID algorithm to gener-ate interior scene intelligently based on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). Although great progress has been made when GAN algorithm applied in smart homes and smart cities, the issue of the trade-off between the accuracy and the efficiency in interior scene has been overlooked. A number of experiments were performed to check the performance and it is indicated that the results of the proposed GAN-ID has great advantages in model sample generation than other common methods when generating interior scene intelligently, which is similar to state-of-the-art. It is meaningful when it can be applied in smart cities and smart homes filed based on AIoT in the future. © 2024, J. Network Intell. All rights reserved.

In recent years, artificial intelligence and automotive industry have developed rapidly, and autonomous driving has gradually become the focus of the industry. In road networks, the problem of proximity detection refers to detecting whether two moving objects are close to each other or not in real time. However, the battery life and computing capability of mobile devices are limited in the actual scene,which results in high latency and energy consumption. Therefore, it is a tough problem to determine the proximity relationship between mobile users with low latency and energy consumption. In this article, we aim at finding a tradeoff between latency and energy consumption. We formalize the computation offloading problem base on mobile edge computing(MEC)into a constrained multiobjective optimization problem(CMOP) and utilize NSGA-II to solve it. The simulation results demonstrate that NSGA-II can find the Pareto set, which reduces the latency and energy consumption effectively. In addition, a large number of solutions provided by the Pareto set give us more choices of the offloading decision according to the actual situation.

Software systems often encounter various errors or exceptions in practice, and thus proper error handling code is essential to ensure the reliability of software systems. Unfortunately, error handling code is often bug-prone, while sufficiently testing them is challenging as such code often cannot be triggered under normal conditions. Motivated by this, recent studies have proposed to leverage software fault injection (SFI) based fuzzing to discover potential bugs in complicated error handling code. Despite the promising results achieved, their effectiveness and efficiency are still compromised in practice due to the huge search space of error sites, inadequate fuzzing guidance, and the overhead induced by context-sensitive SFI. To achieve effective and efficient testing of error handling code, this study presents AFL-FI, which first utilizes a similarity-based method to identify suspicious error sites, and then incorporates the idea of error site coverage to guide the fuzzing process. Finally, the design of lightweight context-sensitive SFI enables AFL-FI to execute test cases efficiently. We evaluate AFL-FI on eight large-scale open-source projects, and the results show that it can outperform existing state-of-the-art fuzzing tools significantly in terms of branch code coverage. More importantly, AFL-FI has discovered 13 previously unknown bugs, and all of them have been confirmed while 12 of them have been fixed. Besides, our evaluation also demonstrates that all the key designs of AFL-F I are effective that contribute significantly to its overall performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning methods have achieved remarkable results in the direction of image quality assessment tasks. However, most of the related studies focus only on image unimodal, ignoring the potential advantages that come with the development of cross-modal techniques. Cross-modal models have implied a wealth of information, which provides new research directions and possibilities in the field of image quality assessment. In this paper, the feasibility of cross-modal models in image quality assessment is first explored for the image quality binary classification task. Subsequently, the optimization prompting method is combined with the tuning of the image encoder in the cross-modal model so that the cross-modal model can be used for image quality assessment scoring. To verify the feasibility of the cross-modal model on the image quality assessment task, an empirical analysis was conducted on the binary image quality dataset PQD, and it was found that the F1 score improved by 18% over the baseline model. Further, we propose an adaptive cross-modal image quality assessment method AC-IQA. On the image quality scoring dataset, compared with the previous optimal methods, AC-IQA improves the PLCC and SROCC metrics on the TID2013 dataset by 5.5% and 9.5%, respectively, and on the KADID dataset by 6.2% and 5.2%. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

To solve the problem of ship heave motion in harsh marine environments, which affects the positioning accuracy and safety of its robotic arm, this paper adopts a PID parameter optimization method based on Tent cold light source improved sparrow search ***, utilizing Tent chaotic mapping to enhance the diversity of sparrow populations, and inspired by the fluorescence attraction effect in the firefly algorithm, this paper perturbs sparrows with a cold light source strategy to obtain better positions and improve their search ***, simulation experiments were conducted to optimize the PID control system using improved *** results showed that compared with the three population intelligent optimization algorithm, the improved algorithm had better convergence accuracy, system response speed, and ***, the improved algorithm was applied to the actual experiment of compensating for the heave direction at the end of a shipborne robotic *** comparison of the four algorithms in compensating for the height difference in the heave direction showed that the improved algorithm had the best heave compensation effect, reflecting the effectiveness of the algorithm in engineering *** provides a certain reference for the active compensation of swarm intelligence optimization algorithms in the heave direction of ships. © 2024 SPIE.

Texture defect detection has wide applications in both textiles and industry, where traditional defect detection methods focus on costly manual labeling and defect samples are complex to collect in real-world industrial scenarios. Furthermore, labeling errors are common in datasets from industrial scenarios, and the problem still needs to be explored. Therefore, we propose a novel texture defect detection method. It has two stages;the defective samples are synthesized in the first stage. In the second stage, we represent normal samples using a self-supervised learning method. Then, we construct a single classifier based on this learned representation. Subsequently, the model is trained to distinguish between normal and defective samples within the embedding space. To increase the robustness of our method, we adopt a novel strategy to construct defective samples and compute the feature similarity through a similarity-weighted aggregation method to achieve defect detection, which is more robust to noise. Experimental results on the DAGM2007 dataset show that our method performs comparably to the leading texture defect detection methods without label noise. In contrast, in the presence of noise, our method can effectively minimize the impact of noise on model performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Image captioning is a vision-language task that targets at describing an image by generating a coherent sentence automatically. This technology allows computers to understand and describe images like humans, enabling further processing of images. It combines computer vision and natural language processing, which has broad applications. This paper investigates the use of vision-language pre-trained models for image captioning. In this article, an encoder-decoder hybrid model based on PVT and BERT is pre-trained on a large number of image-text pairs, possessing both understanding and generation capabilities. It consists of three components: 1) an image encoder and a text encoder to extract image and text features respectively;2) a multi-modal encoder to align the two modalities;and 3) a text decoder to generate text descriptions. This paper focuses on enhancing the image encoder of the model, which is crucial for image captioning models as it extracts high-resolution image features. Reducing training time and computational costs can also improve the applicability of pre-trained models. Improvements are made to the original model by modifying the ViT model architecture of the image encoding module. A feature pyramid structure and a spatial reduction attention mechanism is introduced to extract high-resolution image features while reducing computational complexity and memory usage, thereby enhancing the universality of the model. The model adopts a pure Transformer architecture, discarding the convolutional structure, and achieves excellent performance. © 2023 IEEE.

As software engineering advances and the code demand rises, the prevalence of code clones has increased. This phenomenon poses risks like vulnerability propagation, underscoring the growing importance of code clone detection techniques. While numerous code clone detection methods have been proposed, they often fall short in real-world code environments. They either struggle to identify code clones effectively or demand substantial time and computational resources to handle complex clones. This paper introduces a code clone detection method namely Toma using tokens and machine learning. Specifically, we extract token type sequences and employ six similarity calculation methods to generate feature vectors. These vectors are then input into a trained machine learning model for classification. To evaluate the effectiveness and scalability of Toma, we conduct experiments on the widely used BigCloneBench dataset. Results show that our tool outperforms token-based code clone detectors and most tree-based clone detectors, demonstrating high effectiveness and significant time savings. © 2024 ACM.

In this paper, we investigate the issues of real-time sensor scheduling and state estimator design within large-scale sensor network systems. Specifically, data redundancy sometimes occurs in large-scale sensor arrays due to the excessive proximity of sensing units in the spatial domain, leading to high similarity in their measurement data. Currently, it is difficult to account for such redundancy in sensor scheduling algorithms found in existing literature, where the optimal subset of sensors is generally selected by optimizing objective functions formulated from certain performance criteria. To tackle this problem, we introduce an event-based sensor scheduling strategy, the triggering condition of which is designed founded on the similarity of sensor data, so as to identify the most informative subset of sensors for state estimation. To evaluate the impact of the sensor scheduling protocol on system observability, we propose a new notion of E(varepsilon)-observability, based on which an observability criterion is derived. In addition, we have designed a set-valued state estimation algorithm, which takes into account the intricate measurement information structure inherent within the sensor selection mechanism. The performance enhancement of the proposed estimator is also investigated. Finally, numerical experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation algorithm and to verify the performance improvement. © 2024 IEEE.

Video person re-identification is receiving academic interest. However, the practical application of the algorithm is hardly supported because of prohibitive annotated data. Hence, the study for unlabeled data will lead to an attractive alternative. This work explores an innovative strategy, namely, learning to cluster unlabeled person in the video through graph convolutional networks. In this paper, we find that the possibility of inter-frame linkage can be inferred from context. Therefore, a pose-guided topology linkage clustering framework is proposed. Our framework consists of three modules: (i) a pose-guided representation module;(ii) a pose-guided embedding module;(iii) a link prediction module. Firstly, the representation coding alone is performed at the level of relational induction bias, embedding the implicit pose structure information in image features. Then, based on the consideration of the topology relationship between adjacent and cross-frame, graph convolutional network is introduced to infer the likelihood of linkage between frame nodes. Experiments show that the method demonstrates excellent scalability in addition to being an effective response to person clustering in case of changes, and does not need the number of clusters as a prior. © 2023 IEEE.
