It is difficult to train a trustworthy transformer model on a small image classification dataset. This research proposes a sophisticated structured knowledge distillation algorithm that uses CNNs as Transformer's sophisticated teachers, significantly lowering the number of training datasets needed. To better to develop the potential for CNN tutors, this research configures a public data set for CNN teaching as an enlightenment textbook to guide Transformer's training and avoid falling into local optimization prematurely. The distillation process then employs a 'learn-digest-self-distillation' learning strategy to enable the Transformer to assimilate CNN knowledge in a structured manner. Sufficient experiments show that the proposed method is significantly better than the direct training Transformer under the condition of limited data sets. Moreover, in order to show the practical application value, this research contributed a practical data set for the classification of smoking and calling. Cooperative coevolution (CC) algorithms, based on the divide-and-conquer strategy, have emerged as the predominant approach to solving large-scale global optimization (LSGO) problems. The efficiency and accuracy of the grouping stage significantly impact the performance of the optimization process. While the general separability grouping (GSG) method has overcome the limitation of previous differential grouping (DG) methods by enabling the decomposition of nonadditively separable functions, it suffers from high computational complexity. To address this challenge, this article proposes a composite separability grouping (CSG) method, seamlessly integrating DG and GSG into a problem decomposition framework to utilize the strengths of both approaches. CSG introduces a step-by-step decomposition framework that accurately decomposes various problem types using fewer computational resources. By sequentially identifying additively, multiplicatively and generally separable variables, CSG progressively groups nonseparable variables by recursively considering the interactions between each nonseparable variable and the formed nonseparable groups. Furthermore, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of CSG, we introduce two innovative methods: a multiplicatively separable variable detection method and a nonseparable variable grouping method. These two methods are designed to effectively detect multiplicatively separable variables and efficiently group nonseparable variables, respectively. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that CSG achieves more accurate variable grouping with lower computational complexity compared to GSG and state-of-the-art DG-series designs. © 2024 IEEE.

In complex and ever-changing traffic environments, target detection tasks require extremely high accuracy and efficiency. However, current methods still have obvious limitations in their ability to focus on key areas and the detection performance of multi-scale targets. In view of this, this paper proposes an innovative target detection model for complex traffic scenes. Specifically, the two-layer routing attention mechanism significantly enhances the model's ability to identify and detect targets by accurately focusing on key areas and effectively suppressing the interference of background noise. At the same time, the context information module combined with feature fusion integrates multi-level features, especially the fusion of low-level and high-level features, and introduces environmental context information, which significantly improves the detection accuracy of multi-scale targets in complex traffic scenes. In order to solve the problem that tiny targets are easily missed, this paper further increases the use of shallow features to improve the accuracy of tiny target detection, which significantly improves the detection accuracy of small targets. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, we conducted detailed experimental verification on the BDD100K dataset. Experimental results show that the mAP@50 index of the model has increased by 10.8%, and the mAP@50:95 index has also increased by 6.3%, while achieving high-speed real-time detection at 88.4 frames per second. This achievement fully proves that the model has successfully achieved dual optimization of accuracy and speed in complex traffic scenes, and its performance is better than other existing methods. It has broad practical application prospects, especially in the fields of intelligent transportation and autonomous driving.

Data-driven machine learning(ML) is widely employed in the analysis of materials structure-activity relationships,performance optimization and materials design due to its superior ability to reveal latent data patterns and make accurate ***,because of the laborious process of materials data acquisition,ML models encounter the issue of the mismatch between a high dimension of feature space and a small sample size(for traditional ML models) or the mismatch between model parameters and sample size(for deep-learning models),usually resulting in terrible ***,we review the efforts for tackling this issue via feature reduction,sample augmentation and specific ML approaches,and show that the balance between the number of samples and features or model parameters should attract great attention during data quantity *** this,we propose a synergistic data quantity governance flow with the incorporation of materials domain *** summarizing the approaches to incorporating materials domain knowledge into the process of ML,we provide examples of incorporating domain knowledge into governance schemes to demonstrate the advantages of the approach and *** work paves the way for obtaining the required high-quality data to accelerate materials design and discovery based on ML.

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have demonstrated remarkable performance in classification and regression tasks on RGB-based pathological inputs. The network's prediction mechanism must be interpretable to establish trust in the clinical routine. One principal approach to interpretation is feature attribution. Feature attribution methods identify the importance of input features for the output prediction. Building on the Information Bottleneck Attribution (IBA) method, we recognize the RGB's input regions with high mutual information with the network's output for each prediction. IBA identifies input regions that have sufficient predictive information. In this paper, we introduce "IBATree", a novel approach that combines IBA with decision trees to enhance both the interpretability and accuracy of DNNs in cancer cell classification. Our method leverages the information bottleneck framework to inject noise into feature maps and then isolates the most informative features for model predictions while maintaining high classification performance. We evaluated our proposed approach on three datasets - CNMC, ISBI2016, and BreaKHis - demonstrating competitive accuracy and producing clear interpretations. This makes IBATree particularly suitable for clinical applications, where understanding the rationale behind predictions is crucial. Our results show that IBATree provides reliable predictions and valuable insights into feature importance, paving the way for its application in various biomedical domains. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an approach to software development which uses a generative AI Model as compiler to translate human language requirements into high-level programming language. We propose an executable human-language module specification and a tool to support it, which has been used successfully for human-language UI test automation. We anticipate further development of this approach to enable complex software to be programmed in human language, allowing for more intuitive and efficient software development. © 2023 IEEE.

Automated skin lesion classification in dermoscopy images remains challenging due to the existence of artefacts and intrinsic cutaneous features, diversity of lesion morphology, insufficiency of training data, and class imbalance problem. To address these challenges, we propose a new densely connected convolutional network termed AttDenseNet-121, which is obtained by integrating the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) into DenseNet-121. CBAM is a simple yet efficient attention module, which is further improved by adding a novel pooling layer (multiscale-pooling) to effectively enhance its attention capability. The optimized CBAM strengthens the representation power of DenseNet-121 by emphasizing meaningful features and suppressing unnecessary ones, thus significantly enhancing the classification performance. Besides, to handle the imbalanced dataset, we employ an improved focal loss function rather than the traditional cross-entropy loss function to train AttDenseNet-121. The improved focal loss is calculated from a different perspective compared with the original focal loss. It makes the distribution of positive samples and negative samples in each batch the same as that in the original data, successfully mitigating the negative influence of class imbalance on this multi-class classification task. We conduct extensive experiments on the public benchmark dataset (HAM10000) and the results indicate that our proposed method achieves superior performance compared with that of the baselines and state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Traditional deep learning models firmly rely on a large amount of labeled data during pre-training. Whereas it lacks generalization in the face of unfamiliar categories. Recently, few-shot learning is a hot topic in computer vision to classify unseen classes with limited labels. A representative approach is to extract features from the support and query sets, respectively, and compare similarities via metric learning. However, convolutional neural networks often focus only on a local region and ignore the global region, which severely reduces the accuracy of the matching. Specifically, in this paper, we pile lightweight attention-based blocks in the embedding module, which combines an adaptive kernel size 2D convolutional network with a cross-channel attention mechanism to encode multi-scale features and implicitly increase the receptive field. The SE-relation module chooses to construct learnable non-linear comparators to compare the relationship utilizing channel information. Finally, we show experimental results on standard few-shot testing benchmarks such as mini-ImageNet and tiered-ImageNet to demonstrate effectiveness. © 2023 ACM.

Fast mode decomposition for few-mode fiber based on lightweight neural network

In this paper,we present a fast mode decomposition method for few-mode fibers,utilizing a lightweight neural network called *** method can quickly and accurately predict the amplitude and phase information of different modes,enabling us to fully characterize the optical field without the need for expensive experimental *** train the MobileNetV3-Light using simulated near-field optical field maps,and evaluate its performance using both simulated and reconstructed near-field optical field *** validate the effectiveness of this method,we conduct mode decomposition experiments on a few-mode fiber supporting six linear polarization(LP)modes(LP01,LP11e,LP11o,LP21e,LP21o,LP02).The results demonstrate a remarkable average correlation of 0.9995 between our simulated and reconstructed near-field lightfield *** the mode decomposition speed is about 6 ms per frame,indicating its powerful real-time processing *** addition,the proposed network model is compact,with a size of only 6.5 MB,making it well suited for deployment on portable mobile devices.

Cloud computing (CC) refers to the transmission, storage, and processing of any type of information at a location that is not owned or controlled by the information owner. This information can be stored and accessed anytime, from anywhere, and using any device. However, several challenges threaten the deployment of cloud computing technology within organizations, including user privacy, data integrity, and managing the retention of the vast amount of data that will be stored and analyzed in this environment. In recent years, various data integrity checking systems and data storage mechanisms have been proposed to address these diverse challenges. Nevertheless, some protocols do not guarantee data confidentiality against auditors during the auditing process, while others do not provide batch auditing. Additionally, the majority of these protocols do not support the deduplication technique. Therefore, in this research work, the security features of blockchain technology and those of multi-agent systems (MAS) have prompted us to propose models that enable both data deduplication, saving storage space, and data integrity auditing, efficiently verifying the accuracy of data outsourced to CC environments. Implementation findings indicate that the suggested system is highly feasible and applicable in real-world scenarios. © 2024 by the authors of this article.
