An Improved Structure for Academic Information Services through AI Chatbots

Academic information service is the most critical factor that must be considered in a university. Service quality is an important indicator affecting all academics’ satisfaction and loyalty. Improvement of information services on campus has been a lot of research focusing on academics. Meanwhile, the software aspect has received less attention. Researchers have previously discussed information service frameworks but have not accommodated future needs. Software that must be considered can quickly respond to the user, one of which is a chatbot. Chatbots can be used to solve problems related to question-and-answer services, especially for academic institutions that do not have specific resources to handle this work. With chatbots, redundant user questions can be handled automatically. Chatbots are increasingly being offered as an alternative source of customer service. For a user to use a chatbot for this purpose, the user must trust the chatbot to provide the necessary support. To overcome this knowledge gap, a framework can integrate software, stakeholders, and academics in higher education. Therefore it is necessary to conduct new research to help answer future needs. © 2023 School of Science, IHU. All rights reserved.

Digital Image Processing (DIP) is the ability to manipulate digital photographs via algorithms for pattern detection, segmentation, enhancement, and noise reduction. In addition, the Internet of Things (IoT) acts as the eye and system for all DIP in various applications. It can possess a camera or another image sensor in order to capture real-time data from its environment. All vital data is processed by image processing in such a way that it recognizes the object, detects an anomaly, and automatically decides in real-time. In addition, in an IoT system, the median filter is the technique used for noise reduction by substituting the value of the pixel with the central value of the surrounding pixels. It provides speed and efficiency for quick analysis in all IoT systems. However, the images can get corrupted, especially in resource-constrained IoT devices with small cameras, because of random glitches. Moreover, using new quantum technology like atomic-scale silicon dangling bond (DB) logic circuits, which have advanced in fabrication and become a strong contender for field-coupled nano-computing, can solve previous problems in IoT systems. In this paper, we propose a unique quantum CSM based on two new proposed Mux and De-mux. The proposed CSM can be used for computational circuits like median filter circuits (MFC) in a wide range of digital circuits, specifically IoT devices. The proposed design is verified and validated using the powerful SiQAD tool. When comparing CSM to the newest designs, the suggested quantum circuit uses 85% less energy and takes up 61% less area. © 2014 IEEE.

This work presents a dual band epsilon negative(ENG)metamaterial with a bilateral coupled split ring resonator(SRR)for use in C and X band wireless communication *** traditional split-ring resonator(SRR)has been amended with this engineered *** proposed metamaterial unit cell is realized on the 1.6 mm thick FR-4 printed media with a dimension of 10×10 *** resonating patch built with a square split outer *** interlinked inner rings are coupled vertically to the outer ring to extend its electrical length as well as to tune the resonance *** simulation is performed using CST studio suite 2019 to design and performance *** transmission coefficient(S21)of the proposed unit cell and array configuration exhibits two resonances at 6.7 and 10.5 GHz with wide bandwidth extended from 4.86 to 8.06 GHz and 10.1 to 11.2 GHz,*** permittivity is noted at frequencies between 6.76–9.5 GHz and 10.5–12 GHz,consecutively,with near-zero refractive index and *** optimal EMR value depicts the compactness of the proposed *** 1×2,2×2 and 4×4 arrays are analyzed that shows similar response compared to the unit *** results of the 2×2 array shows the close similarity of S21 response as compared to *** observed properties of the proposed unit cell ascertain its suitability for wireless communications by enhancing the gain and directivity of the antenna system.

Wind power is one of the sustainable ways to generate renewable *** recent years,some countries have set renewables to meet future energy needs,with the primary goal of reducing emissions and promoting sustainable growth,primarily the use of wind and solar *** achieve the prediction of wind power generation,several deep and machine learning models are constructed in this article as base *** regression models are Deep neural network(DNN),k-nearest neighbor(KNN)regressor,long short-term memory(LSTM),averaging model,random forest(RF)regressor,bagging regressor,and gradient boosting(GB)*** addition,data cleaning and data preprocessing were performed to the *** dataset used in this study includes 4 features and 50530 *** accurately predict the wind power values,we propose in this paper a new optimization technique based on stochastic fractal search and particle swarm optimization(SFSPSO)to optimize the parameters of LSTM *** evaluation criteria were utilized to estimate the efficiency of the regression models,namely,mean absolute error(MAE),Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),coefficient of determination(R2),root mean squared error(RMSE).The experimental results illustrated that the proposed optimization of LSTM using SFS-PSO model achieved the best results with R2 equals 99.99%in predicting the wind power values.

Anomaly detection from medical images is badly needed for automated diagnosis. For example, medical images obtained with several modalities, such as magnetic resonance (MR) and confocal microscopy, need to be classified for anomaly detection. The MR images may contain tumors that need to be detected with anomaly detection techniques. In MR imaging, brain tumors are represented as areas composed of abnormal cells that need to be detected. On the other hand, confocal microscopy can be used for retinal imaging. Hence, there is a need to apply classification techniques for diagnosing diseases of the eye, such as Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), which leads to exudates in different regions of the retina. The detection of exudates is necessary for the diagnosis of DR. In this paper, two models are presented for the classification of MR and retinal images. Much research has been done in this area, but it did not achieve high accuracy of classification in an acceptable time. In addition, the previous models did not consider both types of image modalities considered in this paper. The suggested models are Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (Conv-LSTM). They are used to classify normal and abnormal cases of both brain tumor and DR diseases. The CNN model is composed of six convolutional layers and six max-pooling layers. A soft-max activation function takes the classification decision. The proposed Conv-LSTM model is composed of three stages: pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. The deep learning model performance is better than those of traditional networks. The CNN gives an accuracy of 94.26% for DR classification and 95.8% for brain tumor classification, while the Conv-LSTM gives the maximum accuracy of 96.41% for DR classification and 97.4% for brain tumor classification. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Digital Image Processing (DIP) is a scientific discipline with techniques for processing images using computers. The digital image is expressed in a two-dimensional matrix. The research object is keratitis on the cornea. The keratitis image was obtained using a slit lamp photo at Rs. Padang Aye Center (PAC), based on the results ofthe diagnosis by looking at the development of the infiltrate or also called hypopyon, by measuring the ulcer borders horizontally and vertically with the aim of evaluating improvements that respond to treatment. The clinical results obtained cannot determine the extent and circumference of the keratitis layer area that responds to keratitis as a whole. The images used were 206 slit lamp images of keratitis. This research provides knowledge in the form of contrast values in the Active Contour method, resulting in an update called Contras Adjustment (CA)/CAimg, in correctly segmenting keratitis objects and providing measurements of the area and circumference of the keratitis area. The results of this study were from 206 slit lamp images, 195 slit lamp images of keratitis that detected keratitis correctly and 11 slit lamp images of keratitis that could not be detected, resulting in an accuracy of 95%. © 2024 IEEE.

This article is devoted to the determination of the fractal size of the damaged part of the human brain on the basis of images obtained from MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). There are various mathematical methods for determining the size of fractal structures, this article uses two variants of the cell counting method and describes the analysis of errors in determining the fractal size of the damaged part of the human brain. The article shows that the damaged part of the human brain has a fractal structure and that it has a fractal dimension. Fractal measurement has also been used to determine the size of the damaged part of the human brain, unlike common methods. In determining the fractal scale, cases of changes in human body organs were not taken into account. In the article, the determination of the size of the damaged part of the human brain is studied on the basis of mathematical formulas. Two different variants of the special cell counting method were used to calculate the fractal measurements, as well as the corresponding number of experimental results. In addition, these measurements were used to assess the extent to which patients suffered brain damage and to provide information on the practical application of these fractal measurements. © 2024 ACM.

Kinship recognition is becoming an important path in the evolution of biometric recognition research. Over the past decade, notable progress has been achieved in this emerging field attracting more researchers to exploit new methods for its branches. The most common use case is facial kinship recognition with its two variants: verification and identification. In this paper, we propose a novel kinship verification network based on a self-calibrated attention model and residual blocks to expand the fields-of-view through the attention stack for producing more discriminative features. In addition, we extend our work to build a kinship identification network based on joint learning of self-calibrated verification ensembles. Experimental results on benchmark datasets are demonstrated to show the effectiveness of our proposed scheme when compared to state-of-the-art solutions on the kinship identification track. © 2023 IEEE.

Jordan has a high and growing level of traffic accidents reaching 160,600) accidents in 2021, (11,241) of them had human injuries, (589) deaths, and (320) million JOD losses. Road traffic accidents are currently the 8th leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for about 1.35 million fatalities annually. Understanding the primary causes of these accidents and the circumstances in which they occur is essential if governments throughout the world are to put policies in place to limit the number of fatalities brought on by traffic accidents. This project has two objectives: (i) to learn more about Jordan's present road accident situation by performing an exploratory study on several road accident datasets, and (ii) to investigate the effectiveness of various machine-learning techniques in predicting the severity of road accidents in Jordan. The dataset entities were collected, collated, explored, and prepared for use in the model. To assess their predictive performance, five different classification algorithms were trained and tested. The findings of the present study demonstrate that the best algorithm was Logistic Regression, which had an accuracy of 98.1%. © 2023 IEEE.

Increasingly available ultrastructural data from a continuously growing diversity of experimental conditions are driving new opportunities for fruitful neuroscientific hypotheses tested in intracellular compartments such as the nanoscale roles of, e.g., the mitochondria. Reliable morphological statistics are based on achieving highly accurate semantic segmentations of EM images. The state-of-the-art deep CNNs can be somewhat brittle;they tend to provide coarse and high-frequency-oscillatory solutions with discontinuities and false positives even for simple mitochondria segmentation. Historically, the current state-of-the-art in medical image segmentation would involve some variant of the encoder-decoder architecture, such as the U-Net architecture. The SAM does not perform as well, since it has not been explicitly trained for the task and does not demonstrate user-interactive, over one billion annotations mostly for natural images. However, the SAM may be applied to segment anything, including medical image segmentation challenging new datasets. This work is aimed at the difficult task of implementing domain adaptation in mitochondria segmentation within EM images obtained from various tissues and species, using deep learning. We do a systematic study to assess SAM's ability to perform segmentation in medical images, measure its performance on volumetric EM datasets, and show that it is powerful at segmenting instances even under challenging imaging conditions. We provide a fine-tuning SAM which can be naturally trained by SAM at an exemplary scale, benefiting from a diverse and large dataset over one million image masks in 11 modalities. This model would be able to perform precise segmentation for a wide range of targets under various imaging conditions, at the level of performance of specialized U-Net models, or even better.
