Optical tweezers are tools made of light that enable contactless pushing, trapping, and manipulation of objects ranging from atoms to space light sails. Since the pioneering work by Arthur Ashkin in the 1970s, optical tweezers have evolved into sophisticated instruments and have been employed in a broad range of applications in life sciences, physics, and engineering. These include accurate force and torque measurement at the femtonewton level, microrheology of complex fluids, single micro- and nanoparticle spectroscopy, single-cell analysis, and statistical-physics experiments. This roadmap provides insights into current investigations involving optical forces and optical tweezers from their theoretical foundations to designs and setups. It also offers perspectives for applications to a wide range of research fields, from biophysics to space exploration. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Improved Water-Filling Power Allocation for Energy-Efficient Massive MIMO Downlink Transmissions

Energy Efficiency (EE) is becoming increasingly important for wireless communications and has caught more attention due to steadily rising energy costs and environmental concerns. Recently, a new network architecture known as Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) has been proposed with the remarkable potential to achieve huge gains in EE with simple linear processing. In this paper, a power allocation algorithm is proposed for EE to achieve the optimal EE in Massive MIMO. Based on the simplified expression, we develop a new algorithm to compute the optimal power allocation algorithm and it has been compared with the existing scheme from the previous literature. An improved water filling algorithm is proposed and embedded in the power allocation algorithm to maximize EE and Spectral Efficiency (SE). The numerical analysis of the simulation results indicates an improvement of 40% in EE and 50% in SE at the downlink transmission, compared to the other existing schemes. Furthermore, the results revealed that SE does not influence the EE enhancement after using the proposed algorithm as the number of Massive MIMO antenna at the Base Station (BS) increases. © 2017 Noor Shahida M. Public untargeted metabolomics data is a growing resource for metabolite and phenotype discovery;however, accessing and utilizing these data across repositories pose significant challenges. Therefore, here we develop pan-repository universal identifiers and harmonized cross-repository metadata. This ecosystem facilitates discovery by integrating diverse data sources from public repositories including MetaboLights, Metabolomics Workbench, and GNPS/MassIVE. Our approach simplified data handling and unlocks previously inaccessible reanalysis workflows, fostering unmatched research opportunities. © The Author(s) 2025.

Recently, it has become possible to easily use video teaching materials in lectures and exercises using high-performance information terminals. In this study, we design and develop playback functions for lecture videos as learning support using a learning management system. The main feature of the proposed system generates keywords from handwritten characters and lecture speech so that learners can search for playback positions related to keywords. Additionally, it becomes possible to create a highly maintainable system in a short development period using speech recognition and still-image recognition functions available on the internet. In this paper, we describe our prototype implementation and present the results of our initial evaluation. The results demonstrate that, regarding the playback of a lecture video, it is possible to use the keyword search function 20–40 min after the lecture video is released. Moreover, we implemented a playback system using a block function on Moodle so that other teaching material in the course could be viewed simultaneously.

With the development of large data age, Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with more hidden layers have more complex network structure and more powerful feature learning and feature expression abilities than traditional machine learning methods. The convolution neural network model trained by the deep learning algorithm has made remarkable achievements in many large-scale identification tasks in the field of computer vision since its introduction. This paper first introduces the rise and development of deep learning and convolution neural network, and summarizes the basic model structure, convolution feature extraction and pooling operation of convolution neural network. Then, the research status and development trend of convolution neural network model based on deep learning in image classification are reviewed, which is mainly introduced from the aspects of typical network structure construction, training method and performance. Finally, some problems in the current research are briefly summarized and discussed, and the new direction of future development is forecasted. © 2017 IEEE.

This paper presents the value of good attributes in carrying out the package classification process Furthermore, attribute selection results can be of value in determining one type of data packet traffic. In obtaining the results (data) this study uses several stages of Data Capture, Feature Extraction and Feature Selection, but in this study only focuses on the process of feature selection using the gain and Entropy Information and Naïve Bayes algorithm. The testing process by dividing raw data into parts is 70 per cent for Training data and 30 per cent for testing data. The total data used is 6632, so for the training data obtained is 4642, while the data for testing is 1990. The results obtained are for the https data package type is 9 attributes, while for the HTTP data is 10 attributes. For further research can be added using another classification method as a comparison of data.

The desire to share and unite remote digital assets motivated the development of the classical internet, the enabler of the entire 21st century economy and our modern way of life. As we enter the quantum era, it is to be expected there will be a similar demand for networking quantum assets, motivating a global quantum internet for bringing together the world's quantum resources, leveraging off their exponential trajectory in capability. We present models for quantum networking, how they might be applied in the future, and the implications they will have. Socially, economically, politically and geostrategically, the upcoming era of quantum supremacy will be as significant for the 21st century as the transistor was for the 20th. The inherently different scaling in the computational power of quantum computers fundamentally changes the dynamics of how they will operate in the future. Given their high expected initial cost, a client/server model for outsourcing computation will be essential for enabling the accessibility and proliferation of this technology, and ensuring its economic viability. We therefore anticipate the emergence of cloud quantum computing, a model for outsourcing quantum computations to the network. We argue that economic efficiency will mandate that all future quantum computers be united into a single global virtual quantum computer, offering exponentially more power to all network participants than if they were to keep their resources to themselves. This model for the allocation of computational resources is uniquely quantum, with no classical analogue, completely altering the economic landscape for the future of computation. Given the sensitivity of much of the data to which future quantum computers are going to foreseeably be applied, protocols for encrypted quantum computation will be essential - the outsourcing of computations that neither an eavesdropper nor even the server performing the computation can spy upon. This paper presents a small-gain theorem for networks composed of a countably infinite number of finite-dimensional subsystems. RF chain reduction for MIMO systems: A hardware prototype

RF chain circuits play a major role in digital receiver architectures, allowing passband communication signals to be processed in baseband. When operating at high frequencies, these circuits tend to be costly. This increased cost imposes a major limitation on future multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication technologies. A common approach to mitigate the increased cost is to utilize hybrid architectures, in which the received signal is combined in analog into a lower dimension, thus reducing the number of RF chains. In this work we present a hardware prototype implementing analog combining for RF chain reduction. The prototype consists of a specially designed configurable combining board as well as a dedicated experimental setup. Our hardware prototype allows to evaluate the effect of analog combining in MIMO systems using actual communication signals. The experimental study, which focuses on channel estimation accuracy in MIMO channels, demonstrates that using the proposed prototype, the achievable channel estimation performance is within a small gap in a statistical sense from that obtained using a costly receiver in which each antenna is connected to a dedicated RF chain. Furthermore, in the considered scenarios, this gap becomes negligible when the reduction rate, i.e., the ratio of the number of RF chains to the number of antennas, is above 62.5%. This paper analysed several alternatives of blind digital signatures,an electronic electoral system in a distributed architecture environment,in view of the persistence of blind signature problems in electoral *** objective is to recognize and propose an alternative of a blind signature scheme to improve privacy,confidentiality for the voter,and to reduce any type of vulnerability with respect to the information of the *** deductive method was used to summarize the information of the scientific articles *** resulted in a blind signature prototype based on algorithms to mitigate the vulnerabilities of voter *** was concluded that,in order to guarantee privacy and confidentiality,several blind signature schemes must be implemented together to obtain the benefits of each of them and thus reduce the risks to which the voter's information is exposed in this process.
