Few-shot learning aims to learn latent patterns from few training examples and has shown promises in practice. However, directly calculating the distances between the query image and support image in existing methods may cause ambiguity because dominant objects can locate anywhere on images. To address this issue, this paper proposes a Semantic Alignment Metric Learning (SAML) method for few-shot learning that aligns the semantically relevant dominant objects through a "collect-and-select'' strategy. Specifically, we first calculate a relation matrix (RM) to "`collect" the distances of each local region pairs of the 3D tensor extracted from a query image and the mean tensor of the support images. Then, the attention technique is adapted to "select" the semantically relevant pairs and put more weights on them. Afterwards, a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) is utilized to map the reweighted RMs to their corresponding similarity scores. Theoretical analysis demonstrates the generalization ability of SAML and gives a theoretical guarantee. Empirical results demonstrate that semantic alignment is achieved. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets validate the strengths of the proposed approach and demonstrate that SAML significantly outperforms the current state-of-the-art methods. The control systems of multi-channel multiphase queuing systems are considered. The control system is based on the methodology of optimal aggregation, therefore there are no restrictions on the form of the functions "costs, output" and probability distribution functions. The methods of optimal aggregation solve the optimization problem for continuous, discrete and integer functions of the class "costs, output". Processes for servicing the flow of objects has two modes: the absence and presence of queues. Software modules for analyzing and predicting of the requirements flow, optimal service in the presence and absence of queues are developed.

Cable driven parallel manipulator are known by their low costs and numerous applications. However despite of all research interests and developed methods they are not yet vastly used in action. The reason for this, is their limiting requirements for accurate assembly and installation process. The main goal of this paper is to propose a suitable control method by which the robot could appropriately be controlled, requiring no accurate calibrations or precise sensors. As it is well known, uncertainty in kinematics equations can lead to loose cables in redundant robots controlled through joint space controllers. In this paper a simple but very effective joint space controller is proposed that addresses the problem of loose cables by a wave based control method by employing a novel force feedback scheme. Indeed, a new conceptual framework for controlling deployable cable driven parallel manipulators is introduced by which such robots are greatly empowered at real-world scenarios. Finally, the performance of the proposed controller and its effectiveness is verified through some practical experiments showing that the proposed controller outperforms conventional cascade topologies in terms of much smoother tracking performance.

Research and development related to smart city is evolving as a response to the issues faced by cities mostly in developing countries. However, prior studies are mostly focused on technical perspective which alone cannot lead to a sustainable society. Accordingly, this study develops a trivial approach that identifies crucial dimensions to be considered in achieving and improving city potential in being a smart city. Moreover, a qualitative research method was adopted by carrying out a single case study to confirm the identified dimensions. The data was collected through archival research technique and semi-structured interviews from practitioners based in Malaysia. Findings from this study indicate that cities should incorporates governance, mobility, living, facilities, services, environmental, social, economic, technologies and information to achieve a sustainable, prosperous and inclusive future for its citizens. Significantly, the developed trivial approach can be adopted by sustainable city managers in planning, designing, deploying and monitoring of sustainable city goals towards a sustainable society for future generations to come.
