This study focuses on the exploration of five novel π-conjugated organic compounds for potential incorporation into organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The molecular structure of these compounds follows a D-Di-D setup, with a carbazole acting as the D component, and the specific Di component varying based on the donor utilized. Through analysis at the DFT/B3LYP/6-31G (d, p) level, including the determination of HOMO–LUMO energy values, after optimizing the molecules' ground state, the frontier molecular orbital (FMO) was studied using Egap band gap. Utilizing the TD-DFT and ZINDO method the optical properties like absorption (λmax) and emission (λem) were explored. Based on SILVACO-TCAD software, the estimated current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of the two most efficient molecules were obtained. The indices of the studied molecules calculated from these interactions indicates that the molecules have sufficient properties which allow these molecules to be considered promising candidates for use in OLED devices as high-performing active materials.

Auction is efficient for spectrum allocation in future dynamic spectrum access networks. Truthful or strategy-proof auction is favorable since every bidder only needs to bid his true valuation and the auctioneer assigns spectra to bidders who value them most. Existing truthful spectrum auction schemes however either generate very low revenue for the auctioneer or need extra prior distribution information on the true valuation of bidders. Low revenue generation could discourage the auctioneers from leasing their spectra and it is usually hard to get prior information on bidders' true evaluations on the spectra. In this paper, we propose a class of truthful spectrum auction schemes which bring higher revenue for the spectrum owners and do not need any prior information at the same time. We present both theoretical and simulation results of our proposed auction schemes.

The SUBNET neural network architecture has been developed to identify nonlinear state-space models from input-output data. To achieve this, it combines the rolled-out nonlinear state-space equations and a state encoder function, both parameterised as neural networks The encoder function is introduced to reconstruct the current state from past input-output data. Hence, it enables the forward simulation of the rolled-out state-space model. While this approach has shown to provide high-accuracy and consistent model estimation, its convergence can be significantly improved by efficient initialization of the training process. This paper focuses on such an initialisation of the subspace encoder approach using the Best Linear Approximation (BLA). Using the BLA provided state-space matrices and its associated reconstructability map, both the state-transition part of the network and the encoder are initialized. The performance of the improved initialisation scheme is evaluated on a Wiener-Hammerstein simulation example and a benchmark dataset. The results show that for a weakly nonlinear system, the proposed initialisation based on the linear reconstructability map results in a faster convergence and a better model quality.

Large language models (LLMs), such as GPT3.5, GPT4 and LLAMA2 perform surprisingly well and outperform human experts on many tasks. However, in many domain-specific evaluations, these LLMs often suffer from hallucination problems due to insufficient training of relevant corpus. Furthermore, fine-tuning large models may face problems such as the LLMs are not open source or the construction of high-quality domain instruction is difficult. Therefore, structured knowledge databases such as knowledge graph can better provide domain background knowledge for LLMs and make full use of the reasoning and analysis capabilities of LLMs. In some previous works, LLM was called multiple times to determine whether the current triplet was suitable for inclusion in the subgraph when retrieving subgraphs through a question. Especially for the question that require a multi-hop reasoning path, frequent calls to LLM will consume a lot of computing power. Moreover, when choosing the reasoning path, LLM will be called once for each step, and if one of the steps is selected incorrectly, it will lead to the accumulation of errors in the following steps. In this paper, we proposed an method of reasoning on efficient knowledge paths (RoK). This method can integrated and optimized the pipeline for selecting reasoning paths from KG based on LLM, which can reduce the dependency on LLM. In addition, we propose a simple and effective subgraph retrieval method based on chain of thought (CoT) and page rank which can returns the paths most likely to contain the answer. We conduct experiments on three datasets: GenMedGPT-5k [14], WebQuestions [2], and CMCQA [21]. Finally, RoK can demonstrate that using fewer LLM calls can achieve the same results as previous SOTAs models.
