B-mode ultrasound tongue imaging is a non-invasive and real-time method for visualizing vocal tract deformation. However, accurately extracting the tongue’s surface contour remains a significant challenge due to the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and prevalent speckle noise in ultrasound images. Traditional supervised learning models often require large labeled datasets, which are labor-intensive to produce and susceptible to noise interference. To address these limitations, we present a novel Counterfactual Ultrasound Anti-Interference Self-Supervised Network (CUAI-SSN), which integrates self-supervised learning (SSL) with counterfactual data augmentation, progressively disentangles confounding factors, ensuring that the model generalizes well across varied ultrasound conditions. Our approach leverages causal reasoning to decouple noise from relevant features, enabling the model to learn robust representations that focus on essential tongue structures. By generating counterfactual image-label pairs, our method introduces alternative, noise-independent scenarios that enhance model training. Furthermore, we introduce attention mechanisms to enhance the network’s ability to capture fine-grained details even in noisy conditions. Extensive experiments on real ultrasound tongue images demonstrate that CUAI-SSN outperforms existing methods, setting a new benchmark for automated contour extraction in ultrasound tongue imaging. In the current field of object detection, the YOLOv7 model demonstrates significant advantages in terms of both detection speed and accuracy. However, the model shows deficiencies in focussing on key information, and its loss function's sensitivity to bounding boxes results in suboptimal performance in densely populated environments and small target detection scenarios. To address these issues, this study proposes a mask target detection method based on YOLOv7. By integrating a channel attention mechanism into the YOLOv7 model, this method enhances the model's focus on important information in images, effectively reducing interference from background factors. Additionally, the method incorporates Normalized Wasserstein Distance (NWD) into the loss function to optimize the model's evaluation of small target detection. Experimental verification shows that the improved model maintains its original detection speed while increasing the overall accuracy to 92.1%, a 2.9% improvement over the original YOLOv7 model. It achieves a 3.3% increase in the mAP.5 metric. This indicates that the optimised YOLOv7 model has superior detection capabilities, allowing it to perform mask-wearing detection tasks more rapidly and accurately in natural environments.

Out-of-distribution (OOD) detection is crucial for developing trustworthy and reliable machine learning systems. Recent advances in training with auxiliary OOD data demonstrate efficacy in enhancing detection capabilities. Nonetheless, these methods heavily rely on acquiring a large pool of high-quality natural outliers. Some prior methods try to alleviate this problem by synthesizing virtual outliers but suffer from either poor quality or high cost due to the monotonous sampling strategy and the heavy-parameterized generative models. In this paper, we overcome all these problems by proposing the Hamiltonian Monte Carlo Outlier Synthesis (HamOS) framework, which views the synthesis process as sampling from Markov chains. Based solely on the in-distribution data, the Markov chains can extensively traverse the feature space and generate diverse and representative outliers, hence exposing the model to miscellaneous potential OOD scenarios. The Hamiltonian Monte Carlo with sampling acceptance rate almost close to 1 also makes our framework enjoy great efficiency. By empirically competing with SOTA baselines on both standard and large-scale benchmarks, we verify the efficacy and efficiency of our proposed HamOS. This study addresses linear attacks on remote state estimation within the context of a constrained alarm rate. Smart sensors, which are equipped with local Kalman filters, transmit innovations instead of raw measurements through a wireless communication network. This transmission is vulnerable to malicious data interception and manipulation by attackers. The aim of this research is to identify the optimal attack strategy that degrades the system performance while adhering to stealthiness constraints. A notable innovation of this paper is the direct association of the attack's stealthiness with the alarm rate, diverging from traditional approaches that rely on the covariance of the innovation or the Kullback-Leibler divergence, which are conventional metrics that have been extensively explored in previous studies. Our findings reveal that the optimal attack strategy exhibits some structural characteristics in systems of low dimensions. The performance of the proposed attack strategy is demonstrated through numerical examples. © 2024 IEEE.

Increasing global energy consumption has become an urgent problem as natural energy sources such as oil,gas,and uranium are rapidly running *** into renewable energy sources such as solar energy is being pursued to counter *** energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources,as it has the potential to meet the world’s energy needs *** study aims to develop and evaluate artificial intelligence(AI)models for predicting hourly global *** hyperparameters were optimized using the Broyden-FletcherGoldfarb-Shanno(BFGS)quasi-Newton training algorithm and STATISTICA *** from two stations in Algeria with different climatic zones were used to develop the *** error measurements were used to determine the accuracy of the prediction models,including the correlation coefficient,the mean absolute error,and the root mean square error(RMSE).The optimal support vector machine(SVM)model showed exceptional efficiency during the training phase,with a high correlation coefficient(R=0.99)and a low mean absolute error(MAE=26.5741 Wh/m^(2)),as well as an RMSE of 38.7045 Wh/m^(2) across all ***,this study highlights the importance of accurate prediction models in the renewable energy,which can contribute to better energy management and planning.

In response to the challenge of limited training samples for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) target detection, a SAR image expansion method based on improved cycle generative adversarial network (CycleGAN) is proposed. First, the structure of the CycleGAN is refined to enhance training efficiency. Then, instance normalization (IN) is incorporated into the residual unit of the CycleGAN to improve the realism of generated SAR images. Finally, SAR target recognition experiments were conducted using the single shot multibox detection (SSD) detection network with VoVNet structure. The experimental results prove that the data expansion method based on CycleGAN can improve the recognition accuracy of SAR targets.

Knowledge Graph Reasoning aims to derive new insights from existing Knowledge Graphs (KGs) and address any missing or incomplete data. Existing models primarily rely on explicit information while neglecting the implicit constraints imposed by entity types on relations types. For example, when the entity type is "person-person," the relation type should be constrained to interpersonal connections like "co-worker." Based on this perspective, we introduce a priori knowledge-based approach for inferring relations types. This approach utilizes the relations type distribution across different entity types in the dataset to guide the inference process. Additionally, recognizing that mapping all different relations types to a single space can decrease inference accuracy due to the diversity of semantics, we propose a parallel spaces KG embedding model that partitions the entire KG into multiple subspaces. Each subspace is dedicated to learning information associated with a specific relation type. Experimental results on three KG reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that our model outperforms other baselines in accuracy. Importantly, our model shows significant advantages when applied to datasets with a substantial number of relations.

MR merges virtual and physical worlds, with MLLM enhancing contextual understanding and multisensory perception for smarter interactions. This study explores user behaviors and task needs through contextual inquiry and retrospective interviews (N=12), identifying key daily tasks and information requirements. A participatory design workshop (N=18) further refines interface displays and interactions based on the physical and semantic attributes of objects, resulting in a dynamic design space. By leveraging MLLM, this design space adapts to user needs, paving the way for improving intelligent perception and redefining the role of everyday objects in MR. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

A Visual Question Answering (VQA) model processes images and questions simultaneously with rich semantic information. The attention mechanism can highlight fine-grained features with critical information, thus ensuring that feature extraction emphasizes the objects related to the questions. However, unattended coarse-grained information is also essential for questions involving global elements. We believe that global coarse-grained information and local fine-grained information can complement each other to provide richer comprehensive information. In this paper, we propose a dual capsule attention mask network with mutual learning for VQA. Specifically, it contains two branches processing coarse-grained features and fine-grained features, respectively. We also design a novel stackable dual capsule attention module to fuse features and locate evidence. The two branches are combined to make final predictions for VQA. Experimental results show that our method outperforms the baselines in terms of VQA performance and interpretability and achieves new SOTA performance on the VQA-v2 dataset. © 2022 Proceedings - International Conference on Computational Linguistics, COLING. Deterministic transmission refers to the guaranteed delivery of data to its destination within a specific time frame along an optimal route, making it an indispensable prerequisite for the operation of autonomous vehicles. The in-vehicle networks (IVNs) face significant challenges in the deterministic transmission of large volumes of perception and control data from and to various vehicle components. In this paper, the cooperative scheduling and routing problem among multi-area control units (ACUs) in IVN is discussed from the view of deterministic transmission, and a ResVmix method is proposed to find the optimal two-layer assignment with ACU cooperation. The multi-cycle queuing and forwarding (multi-CQF) mechanism is employed to schedule the perceived data according to different quality of service (QoS) requirements. The cooperation among multiple ACUs enables deterministic routing of data. The two-layer optimization problems on multi-CQF and ACU are formulated as a+ decentralized partially observable Markov decision processes (Dec-POMDP) and solved using the enhanced multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) method. Simulation results demonstrate that ResVmix significantly enhances the deterministic transmission performance of IVN. Compared to traditional shortest path algorithms and state-of-the-art MADRL methods, ResVmix achieves a 22.4% increase in arrival rate and a 20.1% increase in confirmed arrivals, respectively. IEEE
