Lithium-ion battery production is generally geared towards current demand from the main sectors: electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and energy storage. These sectors typically require the batteries to be as fresh as possible to ensure maximum lifespan and performance. Still, sometimes manufacturers work with buffer stocks and deliver batteries from different production series. In this context, the present paper examines stored batteries' capacity loss, employing an exhaustive statistical study. This study aims to establish if the capacity loss is statistically significant and can lead to battery pack unbalances.

Humans always face problems when it comes to medical check-up due to lack of time or laziness. However, lots of medical problems and fatal illnesses can be detected at earlier stages if the person is subject to continuous check-up. Hence, the idea of the proposed system is to design a tool enabling the measurement of the basic vital signs with the smallest effort possible from the person's side. Thus, this paper proposes a smart medical mirror system that acts as a normal mirror and also delivers the basic vital signs of the user such as the heart rate, SPO2, body temperature, and Body Mass Index (BMI). The system takes five seconds for initialization and starts the measurements and displays the results. The user will not lose time as this check-up can be performed every morning while the person is wearing his clothes and getting ready to start his daily activities. The system was tested by multiple users having different body statuses. The recorded values showed very small differences with the exact ones. At the end, the system was able to meet the user specifications concerning its portability, sensitivity, accuracy and, most importantly, its low cost. © 2020 IEEE.

The paper considers ways to improve the quality of information support for airspace control systems and air traffic control with the help of wide-area multi-position monitoring systems. A comparative analysis has shown that the accuracy of estimating air object coordinates by the wide area multilateration system under consideration is significantly higher than that provided by currently available wide area multilateration systems. It is shown that the introduction of active and passive methods for creating wide-area multi-position observation systems significantly broadens the number of available air object coordinate estimation techniques and, as a result, enhances the quality of information support by providing its users with the opportunity of choosing an optimal estimation method for various primary measurements of received signal parameters. Active wide area multilateration systems significantly expand the number of methods available for solving the problem of adequate information support to airspace control system users;use of secondary surveillance radar aircraft responders allows estimating air object coordinates by both single-position and multi-position method. © 2020 IEEE.

In general, failure data is obtained in the automotive industry during the warranty period. If these contain the expression of a service life characteristic for each failure, statements can be made about the reliability and availability of the systems. For this purpose, estimation methods are used to adapt empirical lifetime distributions to theoretical lifetime distributions. By means of the distribution characteristics, a prognosis of the reliability and availability to be expected is also possible beyond the observation time. In addition to the data basis to be investigated, which is available completely in test bench and experimental trials or re-censored in the field, various methods can be used for estimation. In the past, several methods have been used, such as the estimators according to Eckel [1], Kaplan-Meier [2] or the estimators according to Pauli [3]. In general, a field failure is subject to several stresses, which can be described by expressions of several lifetime characteristics. For this application case, which occurs in the automotive industry, the known estimation methods, [1]–[3], cannot be used. In this paper, the necessity of multidimensional estimation methods will be introduced first. Then, a new estimation method for multidimensional metrics is presented. In a further step, mathematical proof is given that the new method can provide realistic results. Finally, two example data sets from bench testing and field are presented. Furthermore, some recommendations for the use of the new method are concretized in this context.

Context: Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are increasingly self-adaptive, i.e. they have the ability to introspect and change their behavior. This self-adaptation process must be considered when modeling the safety and security aspects of the ***: This study collects and compares security attacks and safety hazards on self-adaptive systems (SAS) described in the literature. In addition, mitigation and treatment strategies as well as the modeling and analysis approaches are ***: We conducted a systematic literature review on 21 selected papers. The selection process involved a database search and snowballing methodologies. The coding scheme to analyze the content of the papers was obtained through our research questions, existing domain-specific taxonomies, and open ***: Safety and Security are not jointly modeled in the context of self-adaptive systems. The adaptation process is often not considered in the attack and hazard analysis due to naïve assumptions and modeling. The proposed approaches are mostly verified and validated through ***: A thorough and joint modeling approach for safety and security in self-adaptive systems is still an open challenge that needs to be addressed. There are many research papers devoted to the state identification problem of finite state machines (FSMs) which are widely used for analysis of discrete event systems. A deterministic complete reduced FSM always has a homing sequence (HS) but a number of non-deterministic FSMs not necessarily have a preset HS;nevertheless, those FSMs can still have an adaptive HS. Moreover, adaptive HS can be shorter than the preset. If each state can be an initial state of a complete FSM, i.e., an FSM is non-initialized, then a shortest adaptive HS (if it exists) has polynomial length in the number of FSM states. We show that it is not the case for weakly-initialized FSMs: such FSMs can have a shortest adaptive HS of exponential length in the number of FSM states/transitions. However, the experimental evaluation shows that the non-polynomial upper bound for a shortest adaptive HS was never reached for randomly generated weakly-initialized two-input FSMs. © 2020 IEEE.

Nowadays in Ukraine, there is a need for automation and removal of human from the processes of decision making on civil law regulation of contract for the provision of in vitro fertilization, which can significantly increase the correctness of the concluded contract in terms of civil law and medical law. So, the purpose of this study is the development of an intelligent agent for support of decision making on civil law regulation of contract for the provision of in vitro fertilization. The method of activity of intelligent agent for support of decision making on civil law regulation of contract for the provision of in vitro fertilization was first developed in this paper, which concludes that the content of the contract for the provision of in vitro fertilization is correct or incorrect, as well as a recommendation to conclude a contract (if its content is correct) or to revise the contract (if its content is incorrect). © 2020 IEEE.

The details of future failures of systems that are serially produced are important for the remanufacturing departments to frame an optimal strategy for the post series supply. The existing one-dimensional and two-dimensional reliability prediction models predict field failures as a function of time based on the stress which the components/systems experience in the field until failure. In day-to-day situations the failure forecasts depend on many external factors like registration delay, which is the delay between the production of a system and its registration in market, reporting delay, which is the delay between the field failure and its reporting time, the export of vehicles to other countries or permanent damage caused to the vehicles. The improvement procedures are integrated into the existing reliability forecast models to reduce the incompleteness of the warranty data due to the influence of external factors using MATLAB. The verification process is to compare the forecasted field failures by the existing models with the actual field failures. The prognosis is carried out based on different failures data sets. With the help of sales data from Original Equipment Manufacturers, the forecasted failures Year to Date are verified. Remanufacturing, a popular term in the automotive industry, helps to reduce the need for raw materials, increase profitability, is an effective solution to the challenges of postal items and also benefits the environment. For the remanufacturing department, the reliability and failure rate of serial products is particularly important, and therefore the accurate prediction of failure rates is also important. It must be ensured that the product meets its reliability requirements. Existing one, two and three dimensional reliability prediction models predict field failures as a function of time, based on the stress experienced by the components/systems in the field until failure. The existing models have been extended to include the parameters that allow us to predict the reliability of refurbished systems. Improvements such as registration delays, reporting delays and the corrected candidate calculation, which deals with whether the product is still within the warranty period after the observation period, are present in the models and are applied to the systems. This reduces the incompleteness of warranty data due to the influence of external factors with MATLAB. The reliability of systems can be predicted with the lifetime prediction and further conclusions can be drawn for future development. In the verification process, the predicted field failures of the models are compared with the real field failures. ©ESREL2020-PSAM15 Organizers.

The purpose of this study is increasing the usability of the user interfaces (UI) by ensuring their compliance with Gestalt principles. The developed method of evaluating the compliance of the UI with Gestalt principles provides: quantitative evaluation of the compliance of the UI with each of the Gestalt principles;quantitative evaluation of the compliance of the UI to all Gestalt principles in the complex;selection of elements of the UI, which meet to the largest and smallest quantity of Gestalt principles;the formation of the set of UI elements, which require further re-work in order to provide them the compliance with Gestalt principles;increase of compliance of the UI with the Gestalt principles (by 15% for the real UI of webpage for selling the jewelry). © 2019 IEEE.
