In the context of promoting environmental wealth to visitors, this paper explores the development of a web platform, widening the visibility of local biodiversity and aiding in its preservation. We introduce a modular web platform, constructed from interconnected front-end and back-end modules and built upon open-source technologies. In the past, delivering captivating, media-rich user experiences, called for specific hardware and proprietary development tools. This study highlights how the latest in web technology, combined with contemporary web browsers (such as those supporting the WebGL standard), now allows for the rollout of these advanced services on everyday mobile devices using widely accepted web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The immersive qualities of multimedia and cutting-edge AR/VR technologies have enhanced the magic of natural sites and the attractiveness of points of interest. Under this notion, we've worked on a thorough investigation of how these paradigm-shifting discoveries might be used to make a virtual retreat for enthusiasts of ecology. The proposed platform's focus on the protection and promotion of biodiversity is the basis of not only improving the user experience but it also emerges as a tool for the preservation of the Ionian Islands' natural marvels as we delve into its architecture and capabilities. © 2023 Owner/Author.

An image can convey a thousand words. This statement emphasizes the importance of illustrating ideas visually rather than writing them down. Although detailed image representation is typically instructive, there are several contexts where simplification of image representations may be more informative. One way to provide an abstract representation of an object is via clip art, which is a simple graphic illustration of an object that can be included in documents or presentations. Clip art representation can be utilized in graphic design for concepts expression and daily life objects illustration. Furthermore, clip art had shown remarkable advantages when compared to real images in terms of editing and manipulation since clip art geometry can be easily edited in addition to the feasibility of storing it in a resolution-independent manner. However, it can be difficult to automatically create clip arts that resemble any object. Here, we propose a novel deep learning model, named ClipArtGAN, that utilizes Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to convert a photo of an object to its corresponding clip art. To our knowledge, this is the first GAN model based on Pix2Pix architecture that is capable of automatically generating clip art for any arbitrary object. Three training datasets were collected to train and compare two GAN models based on Pix2Pix and CycleGAN architectures. Our results demonstrate that the mean accuracy obtained using ClipArtGAN utilizing Pix2Pix outperforms that of CycleGAN by 58% and that of Google Images-based search by 54%. Reliability, efficiency and continuity of power energy supplied is an area which receives increasing attention as the main infrastructure of power transmission and distribution systems in many countries is ageing. Hot spot related cable failures and power interruptions have a big financial impact on the power provider. The operational parameters of a method to identify in real time hot spots on cables is investigated in this paper, which can result to timely fault prevention. This can be achieved through exploiting the optical sensing capabilities of the existing optical fibre on-grid network. The resulting parameters aim to be advantageous for the system as they increase accuracy and will enable the Remote, automated, continuous, and real time monitoring of the grid infrastructure integrity. © 2023 IEEE.

To detect the improper sitting posture of a person sitting on a chair,a posture detection system using machine learning classification has been proposed in this *** addressed problem correlates to the third Sustainable Development Goal(SDG),ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages,as specified by the World Health Organization(WHO).An improper sitting position can be fatal if one sits for a long time in the wrong position,and it can be dangerous for ulcers and lower spine *** novel study includes a practical implementation of a cushion consisting of a grid of 3×3 force-sensitive resistors(FSR)embedded to read the pressure of the person sitting on ***,the Body Mass Index(BMI)has been included to increase the resilience of the system across individual physical variances and to identify the incorrect postures(backward,front,left,and right-leaning)based on the five machine learning algorithms:ensemble boosted trees,ensemble bagged trees,ensemble subspace K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN),ensemble subspace discriminant,and ensemble RUSBoosted *** proposed arrangement is novel as existing works have only provided simulations without practical implementation,whereas we have implemented the proposed design in *** results validate the proposed sensor placements,and the machine learning(ML)model reaches a maximum accuracy of 99.99%,which considerably outperforms the existing *** proposed concept is valuable as it makes it easier for people in workplaces or even at individual household levels to work for long periods without suffering from severe harmful effects from poor posture.

Airplanes are a social necessity for movement of humans,goods,and *** are generally safe modes of transportation;however,incidents and accidents occasionally *** prevent aviation accidents,it is necessary to develop a machine-learning model to detect and predict commercial flights using automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast *** study combined data-quality detection,anomaly detection,and abnormality-classification-model *** research methodology involved the following stages:problem statement,data selection and labeling,prediction-model development,deployment,and *** data labeling process was based on the rules framed by the international civil aviation organization for commercial,jet-engine flights and validated by expert commercial *** results showed that the best prediction model,the quadratic-discriminant-analysis,was 93%accurate,indicating a“good fit”.Moreover,the model’s area-under-the-curve results for abnormal and normal detection were 0.97 and 0.96,respectively,thus confirming its“good fit”.

The ability to estimate temporal relationships is critical for both animals and artificial agents. Cognitive science and neuroscience provide remarkable insights into behavioral and neural aspects of temporal credit assignment. In particular, scale invariance of learning dynamics, observed in behavior and supported by neural data, is one of the key principles that governs animal perception: proportional rescaling of temporal relationships does not alter the overall learning efficiency. Here we integrate a computational neuroscience model of scale invariant memory into deep reinforcement learning (RL) agents. We first provide a theoretical analysis and then demonstrate through experiments that such agents can learn robustly across a wide range of temporal scales, unlike agents built with commonly used recurrent memory architectures such as LSTM. This result illustrates that incorporating computational principles from neuroscience and cognitive science into deep neural networks can enhance adaptability to complex temporal dynamics, mirroring some of the core properties of human learning. Supplier selection is a critical component of Supply Chain Management (SCM), as suppliers provide raw materials or services essential for supporting a company's operations. Traditional supplier selection methods often rely on subjective assessments to determine the weighting of criteria, which can lead to biases and suboptimal decision making. To address this issue, this study combines the Logarithmic Percentage Change of Weight (LOPCOW) method with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to enhance objectivity in the supplier selection process. The LOPCOW method is used to assign criterion weights objectively based on logarithmic percentage changes, which helps minimize subjectivity, These weights are then applied using the SAW method to evaluate and rank suppliers. The results of the study show that this combined approach is more reliable for selecting suppliers objectively and accurately. The study suggests integrating other Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods to further strengthen the results while recommending the inclusion of real-time data analytics to improve the model's adaptability to dynamic market conditions. The LOPCOW-SAW approach can be applied across various industries for more effective and efficient SCM supplier selection. © 2024 IEEE.

Security datasets often exhibit significant imbalances that can introduce bias during model training, diminish sensitivity to actual attacks, and lead to a substantial number of false negatives, potentially overlooking real threats. This is particularly evident in the highly skewed distribution of the UNSW-NB18 Bot-IoT dataset. To mitigate these issues, this study proposes implementing either Random Oversampling (ROS) or Synthetic Minority Oversampling (SMOTE) in conjunction with five ensemble algorithms to develop models for predicting intrusions in the Internet of Things networks. The results show that incorporating these methods with ensemble learners significantly improves model accuracy by 1 % to 4 % across the four algorithms compared to their absence. In addition, there were dramatic increases in precision, recall, and F1-score, achieving values between 95% and 100%. © 2024 IEEE.

Recognizing the emotional content of Natural Language sentences can improve the way humans communicate with a computer system by enabling them to recognize and imitate emotional expressions. In this paper, deep learning, deep neural networks as well as Transformers were examined. Specifically, we designed and developed deep learning methods and BERT-based implementations for recognizing emotional content in user-generated data. Extensive experiments were conducted using these models on a variety of textual data and all the designed methods were evaluated. The results of the study show that BERT achieved the best overall performance, getting an F1-score of 0.86 on the Twitter Data dataset. Also, the Bi-LSTM with Attention Mechanism and Bi-LSTM using Word2vec performed quite well, achieving F1-scores of 0.83 and 0.82, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Global anxiety and depression have become 25% more prevalent, with teenagers and women being the most affected. Approximately 280 million people suffer from depression. Doctors and psychologists are able to diagnose depressive disorders through counselling sessions and ask relevant questions to the subject, despite being vulnerable to mistakes due to the examiner's lack of experience. Therefore, automated depression detection development is necessary to validate doctor and psychiatrist assessment. Electroencephalography (EEG) is considered to be a popular option for the detection and investigation of various mental disorders. In this study, a comparison and analysis of each existing brain wave is carried out, namely Alpha (8-12Hz), Beta (13-30Hz), Theta (4-8 Hz), Delta (0.5-4 Hz) and Gamma (30-50Hz). From each wave, an accuracy testing is carried out for three groups of features: linear features, nonlinear features, and a combination of linear and nonlinear features. The given results demonstrate that the combination of linear and nonlinear data consistently yields the highest accuracy outcomes across all waves. Also, the combination of theta waves and linear nonlinear features contributed the highest accuracy (84%) using LSTM as the classifier. © 2023 IEEE.
