Incomplete multi-view clustering (IMVC) has garnered increasing attention in recent years due to the common issue of missing data in multi-view datasets. The primary approach to address this challenge involves recovering the missing views before applying conventional multi-view clustering methods. Although imputation-based IMVC methods have achieved significant improvements, they still encounter notable limitations: 1) heavy reliance on paired data for training the data recovery module, which is impractical in real scenarios with high missing data rates;2) the generated data often lacks diversity and discriminability, resulting in suboptimal clustering results. To address these shortcomings, we propose a novel IMVC method called Diffusion Contrastive Generation (DCG). Motivated by the consistency between the diffusion and clustering processes, DCG learns the distribution characteristics to enhance clustering by applying forward diffusion and reverse denoising processes to intra-view data. By performing contrastive learning on a limited set of paired multi-view samples, DCG can align the generated views with the real views, facilitating accurate recovery of views across arbitrary missing view scenarios. Additionally, DCG integrates instance-level and category-level interactive learning to exploit the consistent and complementary information available in multi-view data, achieving robust and end-to-end clustering. Machine learning is an useful approach estimating the state-of-health (SOH) of the lithium-ion batteries and had been successfully implemented on battery management systems (BMS). However, the SOH estimation accuracy of the machine learning relies highly on the similarity of training dataset and battery data of estimation. In other words, the machine learning approach may fail if the battery of estimation is operated in a different condition from the condition set for collecting the training dataset. This paper aims on solving such a problem by proposing a transfer component analysis-random forest regression (TCA-RF) approach. The robustness of this proposed approach is ensured by the random forest regression, which is an ensemble learning approach. The generalization of this proposed approach is enhanced by transfer component analysis since it achieves the domain adaption with well transformation of features between two datasets. Two battery ageing datasets collected in different operating conditions are selected in this paper to validate the success of the proposed work, where these two datasets are collected by the Center for Advanced Life Cycle engineering (CALCE) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Prognostics Center of Excellence (PCoE). The proposed work is further compared with multiple commonly adopted intelligent algorithms to showcase the high performance of the proposed work. The experimental results shows that the proposed TCA-RF approach has a better accurate SOH estimation comparing to other estimation algorithms by 2% to more 50%. © 2022 IEEE.

REGULARIZED HIGHER-ORDER TAYLOR APPROXIMATION METHODS FOR COMPOSITE NONLINEAR LEAST-SQUARES

In this paper, we develop a regularized higher-order Taylor based method for solving composite (e.g., nonlinear least-squares) problems. At each iteration, we replace each smooth component of the objective function by a higher-order Taylor approximation with an appropriate regularization, leading to a regularized higher-order Taylor approximation (RHOTA) algorithm. We derive global convergence guarantees for RHOTA algorithm. In particular, we prove stationary point convergence guarantees for the iterates generated by RHOTA, and leveraging a Kurdyka-Lojasiewicz (KL) type property of the objective function, we derive improved rates depending on the KL parameter. When the Taylor approximation is of order 2, we present an efficient implementation of RHOTA algorithm, demonstrating that the resulting nonconvex subproblem can be effectively solved utilizing standard convex programming tools. Furthermore, we extend the scope of our investigation to include the behavior and efficacy of RHOTA algorithm in handling systems of nonlinear equations and optimization problems with nonlinear equality constraints deriving new rates under improved constraint qualifications conditions. Finally, we consider solving the phase retrieval problem with a higher-order proximal point algorithm, showcasing its rapid convergence rate for this particular application. Numerical simulations on phase retrieval and output feedback control problems also demonstrate the efficacy and performance of the proposed methods when compared to some state-of-the-art optimization methods and software. In today's world, connectivity and performance-driven technology are rapidly advancing each year, and new platforms and mechanisms are being utilized to enhance the security and performance of databases and cloud computing, which are trending in the global market. This examination focused on customer information security in cloud computing, i.e., information stockpiling security issues and how to control unapproved access to data by proposing access control; valuable measures were characterized subsequently, and an entrance control show was prescribed. Cloud computing can be described as an innovation that depends on the web and the sharing of resources. It has an adaptable foundation that customers can use with much of a stretch. With its wide event relationship, there are numerous obstacles to continuing with cloud computing because of security issues, mostly considering customer data security. The proposed study helped hesitant clients sensibly continue forward in the cloud while understanding the dangers of cloud computing. The research objective is to examine the security techniques employed in cloud technology to improve its performance by utilizing data mining within a unified cache system. We will apply the Apriori algorithm as a proposed solution to be used in a single cache while considering the security measures in the cloud. The study expects to apply this method to all cloud providers and vendors by entering data into a single cache mechanism that can be extended into different components and implemented using SPSS modelers to improve the security of the database.

Language-queried target sound extraction (TSE) aims to extract specific sounds from mixtures based on language queries. Traditional fully-supervised training schemes require extensively annotated parallel audio-text data, which are labor-intensive. We introduce a parallel-data-free training scheme, requiring only unlabelled audio clips for TSE model training by utilizing the contrastive language-audio pre-trained model (CLAP). In a vanilla parallel-data-free training stage, target audio is encoded using the pre-trained CLAP audio encoder to form a condition embedding, while during testing, user language queries are encoded by CLAP text encoder as the condition embedding. This vanilla approach assumes perfect alignment between text and audio embeddings, which is unrealistic. Two major challenges arise from training-testing mismatch: the persistent modality gap between text and audio and the risk of overfitting due to the exposure of rich acoustic details in target audio embedding during training. To address this, we propose a retrieval-augmented strategy. Specifically, we create an embedding cache using audio captions generated by a large language model (LLM). During training, target audio embeddings retrieve text embeddings from this cache to use as condition embeddings, ensuring consistent modalities between training and testing and eliminating information leakage. Extensive experiment results show that our retrieval-augmented approach achieves consistent and notable performance improvements over existing state-of-the-art with better generalizability. © 2025 IEEE.

With rapid urbanization, smart cities have become essential for enhancing urban management and sustainability by integrating technological, social, and institutional innovations. Among these innovations, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications and electric vehicles (EVs) play a critical role in reducing carbon emissions and optimizing urban mobility. To address the existing gaps in holistic V2X integration, this paper presents a novel eco-assistive fog-based traffic management system (EAFTMS) that leverages a four-tier architecture (IoT, fog, cloud, and application) for scalable, real-time traffic optimization. A key innovation of this system is the AI-driven point exchange system (PES), designed to incentivize sustainable behaviors such as reducing unnecessary vehicle usage and promoting green lifestyle choices. Unlike conventional models, the proposed framework incorporates real-time behavioral monitoring, rewards-based sustainability programs, and V2X-enabled dynamic traffic control. Empirical validation demonstrates that EAFTMS outperforms existing models, including support vector regression (SVR), achieving a 30% reduction in latency, a 40% improvement in response time, a 25% increase in traffic flow efficiency, and a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions. These results highlight the framework’s potential to set new standards in intelligent green cities by offering scalable, practical, and environmentally impactful solutions to urban transportation challenges. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Leveraging a number of inner capacitors/inductors, hybrid-clamped multilevel converters (MLCs) normally face great challenges among good performance (proper charge/discharge of these devices), high efficiency (maintaining low losses) and high power density (compact profile). On the other hand, these multiple-device energy-processing requirements have been addressed well in some promising multi-port converters (MPCs), and, therefore, inspire us to implement well-developed compact MPCs to facilitate the voltage/current level generation process in hybrid-clamped MLCs. Though recently, some researchers started to integrate active cells into hybrid-clamped MLCs and improve capacitor voltage control and generate extra output levels, the systematic synthesis method is still unclear and rarely discussed in the literature. To address this gap, we propose a systematic synthesis method for those hybrid clamped MLCs that can benefit from embedding well-developed MPCs. The approach can be applied for both voltage-source and current-source hybrid-clamped MLCs, covering emerging MLCs. In particular, we also derived and verified a new mixed hybrid MLC family through an emerging current-fed dual-input isolated multi-port converter. This topology features both current-source and voltage-source benefits and is ideal for future renewable generation integration.

The modern space industry requires autonomous and high-precision control systems for scientific and commercial missions. Strapdown inertial navigation systems based on laser gyroscopes play a key role in spacecraft control, especially in environments where satellite navigation is unavailable. In this paper, ring lasers with an active medium made of a helium-neon mixture, their design and operating modes are investigated. The influence of voltage on the ignition electrodes (4.2-5 kV) on the breakdown time of the active medium has been analyzed. It was found that increasing the voltage reduces the breakdown time, providing reliable activation of gyroscopes. The experimental results allowed to determine the optimal ignition parameters that increase operation reliability and reduce production losses. This contributes to the development of highly efficient spacecraft control systems, opening up new prospects for deep space exploration and control of satellite systems. © 2025 IEEE.
