The paper describes the energy consumption from the battery based on the current measurements for various cases, i.e., speed (PWL adjustment) and loads. The main purpose of the research is to have additional and reliable information about power consumption and battery life estimation for autonomous guided vehicles (AGV). The authors propose a two-step algorithm. In the first step, a linear classifier was proposed. Then, the KNN classifier was tested; however, it did not give satisfactory results, so it was finally decided to use the random forest to estimate the load and PWL. The time domain current measurement is evaluated, and the beforementioned algorithms process the selected statistical measures. It has been proven that a two-step algorithm allows for achieving high accuracy. Based on the current observation, the paper is a good starting point for further investigation of the AGV because it is usually implemented in the AGV – so it does not require additional hardware. Moreover, it can lead to better energy management and increase battery lifetime.

This paper examines the Uber data breach of September 2022, where the Lapsus$ group exploited multi-factor authentication (MFA) fatigue to compromise contractor credentials. The attackers gained access to internal systems, demonstrating the sophistication and persistence of modern Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). Using the ACRE framework, which focuses on later stages of the cyber kill chain, we highlight how effective Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) can systematically detect and analyse such attacks. The ACRE framework provides tools to collect, process, and analyse threat data, enabling organisations to identify APT activity and mitigate risks proactively. By applying ACRE to the Uber breach, this study demonstrates its capacity to uncover critical intelligence and improve defensive strategies. The case underscores the importance of intelligence-driven approaches in addressing the complexities of contemporary cyber threats and enhancing organisational resilience. © 2025 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Learn to Bid as a Price-Maker Wind Power Producer

Wind power producers (WPPs) participating in short-term power markets face significant imbalance costs due to their non-dispatchable and variable production. While some WPPs have a large enough market share to influence prices with their bidding decisions, existing optimal bidding methods rarely account for this aspect. Price-maker approaches typically model bidding as a bilevel optimization problem, but these methods require complex market models, estimating other participants’ actions, and are computationally demanding. To address these challenges, we propose an online learning algorithm that leverages contextual information to optimize WPP bids in the price-maker setting. We formulate the strategic bidding problem as a contextual multi-armed bandit, ensuring provable regret minimization. The algorithm’s performance is evaluated against various benchmark strategies using a numerical simulation of the German day-ahead and real-time markets. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. The present paper deals with data-driven event-triggered control of a class of unknown discrete-time interconnected systems(*** systems).To this end,we start by putting forth a novel distributed event-triggering transmission strategy based on periodic sampling,under which a model-based stability criterion for the closed-loop network system is derived,by leveraging a discrete-time looped-functional *** the model-based criterion with a data-driven system representation recently developed in the literature,a purely data-driven stability criterion expressed in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)is ***,the data-driven stability criterion suggests a means for co-designing the event-triggering coefficient matrix and the feedback control gain matrix using only some offline collected state-input ***,numerical results corroborate the efficacy of the proposed distributed data-driven event-triggered network system(ETS)in cutting off data transmissions and the co-design procedure.

Nowadays, we can observe a growing interest in sustainable buildings. Sustainable development cannot be achieved without introducing innovations in green building;therefore, innovations are important component of sustainable engineers’ job. Innovative, sustainable buildings have numerous advantages, but it should be remembered that their design, and construction is more complex and associated with higher risk and uncertainty than traditional buildings. The goal of this work is to propose a new model of risk management which is based on fault tree analysis and Fuzzy sets theory. Sixteen unwanted events in innovative, sustainable building projects were identified, a fuzzy fault tree was developed. The application of the proposed approach was shown on one example of innovative, sustainable building in Poland. Two variants of project execution were compared: with and without introducing risk management strategy. Application of fuzzy sets by using linguistic variables by experts when assessing risks of particular unwanted events enabled to decrease uncertainty and avoid problems with obtaining the crisp values of the basic events probability. Application of the proposed model allowed us to identify the critical risks of the project, calculate top event risk, and compare the project’s risk level after introducing risk management strategies. In text mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP), extracting emotions from textual data is gaining rapid attraction. The proliferation of online content and the freedom of expression on social media platforms has compelled the advancement of more sophisticated methods for the automatic identification of unwanted content. The One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN) performs best for feature extraction, while the Long Short-Term Memory Network (LSTM) is well-known for extracting sequential features and classification of textual data. This study proposes a novel solution by combining 1D-CNN with LSTM. Utilizing a context-aware model, this study aims to enhance the detection of immoral posts, including hate speech and other forms of immoral content on social media platforms. Various posts are extracted from social media, which are then processed using Glove word embedding models. It depicts the word representations in the text, which yields the form of a real-valued vector determining the words' meaning. The 1D convolution utilizes a filter window over the input time-series data to extract features. Relying on the acquired parameters of the filters, they act as feature extractors. This feature extraction technique allows the model to distinguish detailed patterns and nuances from the textual contents of posts. The sequential processing capabilities of the LSTM network enable an in-depth examination of the text, capturing temporal relationships and context, which is critical for successful content categorization. To validate the proposed model, we utilized a benchmark dataset, called the Twitter dataset. The proposed model achieved the highest accuracy of 95.37% and outperforms state-of-the-art works. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

In the contemporary era of information technology, the exponential surge in data has rendered colossal potential value, which would be fully unlocked through data circulation and sharing. However, when the data contains sensitive information, special attention must be paid to the data privacy and security problem for data sharing. A feasible solution is to incorporate blockchain technology into the data sharing system, and the new challenge is how to provide fair rewards for data owners to motivate them to contribute data. To address this challenge, in this paper, we first design a blockchain-based data sharing system to enhance the trust and reliability of the data shared among participants. Then we propose an incentive allocation method based on the Shapley value, which comprehensively incorporates each participant’s contribution while ensuring fairness for the allocation. Finally, multiple numerical simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanism. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.

Eye-tracking technology has long been a valuable tool across various domains, and recent advancements in neural networks have significantly expanded its versatility and potential. However, real-world applications continue to face challenges such as accommodating users’ natural movements, variations in lighting, occlusions of the eyes, and the limited availability of large, open-source datasets for training models. To address these issues, we developed a comprehensive pipeline that produces a lightweight and efficient model, requiring only an RGB camera as external hardware, making it easily deployable on standard PCs. Key input features include facial images, eye regions, head pose angles, the Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR), and a face grid that determines the face’s location within the camera’s frame. The model was trained using a custom dataset, in which participants were instructed to fixate on both randomly positioned points and the standard 9-point grid commonly employed in eye-tracking calibration. The resulting system was integrated into a real-time application, offering fast and accessible gaze tracking, making it well-suited for studies requiring rapid gaze assessments across broad regions of the screen, such as psychometric research and Human-computer Interaction (HCI) tasks. Its design is particularly advantageous for gaze laterality studies, which explore hemispheric dominance and attentional bias in cognitive and emotional processing, key concepts relevant to ADHD and dyslexia. Moreover, the system’s capabilities naturally extend to emotional and decision-making tasks, where broad-area gaze tracking can support the analysis of preference formation and attentional patterns without the need for specialized hardware. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors. This paper expounds on the development status and relevant works of control and guidance methods of the aerospace vehicle in recent years. The control difficulties and the solutions in the related results are introduced briefly. Moreover, the guidance methods are then expounded in detail according to the flight phases of the whole flight mission. Guidance methods are usually included in each phase, and the corresponding trajectory design theories are also introduced where necessary.
