This paper studies one particular aspect of providing communication security: firewall technology. This article provides a security framework in the form of packet filtering model within the firewall technology system and its components can be designed and evaluated. This paper introduces a reference model based on packet filtering firewall technology. All components are governed by a centralized security policy and they can be deployed in a distributed fashion to achieve scaling. This packet filtering firewall design is proven technology that provides confidentiality, integrity and availability in own information and network resources. The required design implement to set-up packet filtering firewall for network to protect and unauthorized access to our network. We describe the filtering process design depends on its underlying network technologies. The resulting security mechanism can be used as a bastion-host in the construction of firewall system.

Hybrid electric vehicles use control strategies to distribute the torque requested by the driver between the internal combustion engine and the electrical motor. Many different types of control strategies have been proposed, but in general it is impossible to determine which control strategy performs best if the future driving conditions are unknown. In this paper, we introduce two learning-based control strategies which use an arbitrary set of basic control strategies in order to minimize the fuel consumption of the hybrid electric vehicle. Our simulation results show that the fuel consumption of the learning-based control strategies are comparable to the fuel consumption of the best basic control strategy in the set even without a priori knowledge of the driving conditions.

The event-based control of Integrator Plus Time Delay (IPTD) processes is investigated in this study. A two Degree-Of-Freedom (2-DOF) structure with simple tuning methods is proposed to cope with the set-point tracking and the load disturbance rejection tasks. A stability analysis is conducted and a simple tuning methodology is provided. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the approach.

This paper presents a novel point-cloud descriptor for robust and real-time tracking of multiple objects without any object knowledge. Following with the framework of incremental model-free multiple object tracking from our previous work [5][7][6], 6 DoF pose of each object is firstly estimated with input point-cloud data which is then segmented according to the estimated objects, and incremental model of each object is updated from the segmented point-clouds. Here, we propose Joint Color-Spatial Descriptor (JCSD) to enhance the robustness of the pose hypothesis evaluation to the point-cloud scene in the particle filtering framework. The method outperforms widely used point-to-point comparison methods, especially in the partially occluded scene, which is frequently happened in the dynamic object manipulation cases. By means of the robust descriptor, we achieved unsupervised multiple object segmentation accuracy higher than 99%. The model-free multiple object tracking was implemented by using a particle filtering with JCSD as a likelihood function. The robust likelihood function is implemented with GPU, thus facilitating real-time tracking of multiple objects.

This work proposes an event-based PI control scheme focused on FOPTD (First Order Plus Time Delay) processes with simple tuning methods. The scheme, called for short predictive SSOD-PI or PSSOD (Predictive Symmetric Send On Delta)-PI, which only considers two degree of freedom to determine the expected rate of events as well as the set-point and load disturbance rejection responses. The event-based system is characterized by defining its architecture, a stability analysis, and by providing simple ad-hoc tuning rules. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the approach.

The design of event-based controllers for systems with unknown states is investigated in this paper. The case of general quadratic triggering conditions that depend on the estimated state given by a Luenberger observer is studied. Novel frameworks are proposed for continuous and periodic event-based control providing criteria for asymptotic stability with the form of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). The frameworks are tested in simulation through a challenging system, such as the double rotary inverted pendulum.
