Given partially-controllable and partially-observable discrete-event systems, an approach is proposed to model their control system and to design a controller. Via the Petri-net tool, two state-space models are obtained for them based on state-feedback and event-feedback, respectively. According to the former, the maximally-permissive controller is designed when a plant to be controlled is observable and partially-controllable. According to the latter, the maximally-permissive controller is designed when a plant is partially observable. An example is used to illustrate the theoretic results.

We consider the classical 3-state Moore-Greitzer model, which is commonly used for approximating dynamics of deviations of flow and pressure variables in an axial compressor from their nominal steady-state values. The linearization of the nonlinear system is not controllable and, therefore, even local asymptotic stability cannot be achieved using methods of linear control theory. We propose a family of parametrized partial-state feedback control laws and derive sufficient conditions to guarantee global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. The stability analysis uses the integral quadratic constraints technique for the case of non-strict frequency condition and novel arguments for characterization of ω-limit sets.

Recently, methods for control Configuration Selection (CCS) using weighted graphs have been introduced. These methods were integrated in a software tool which allows systematic CCS in industry processes by choosing a simplified model with a reduced structure on which control will be based. This paper addresses the extension of these graph-based methods to be applied to integrating systems, which often appear in industry processes, e.g. at storage vessels. The extension is based on restricting the analysis to a set of frequencies of interest which omits the infinite DC-gain. The results are validated and illustrated using a real-life case, namely the secondary heating system of a pulp & paper mill.

It is important to distinguish overlapped cell for tracking and segmentation biological cells from images. In this research, a novel or comprehensive method is provided with morphological features of cell and minimum distance for overlapped cells separation (OCS). it's necessary to say that this algorithm is not based on type and number of Overlapped cells. In this presented method based on a distance chart. At first, every cell or rectangle of cell is separated of the original image. Also, multiplex cell is distinguished by using minimum perimeter polygon (MPP) method. Distance chart is achieved on the base of morphological procedure and Computing of cell boundary distance to Cell middle axis in different epochs. By achieving the absolute minimum distance chart, candidate cutting points is detected and separated. Experimental results show the offered method is very effective and the work shows great assistance for the cell Cytoplasm segmentation. At the end, recognition accuracy and 97.4% separation for cells is achieved by this method.

Cell dynamics and motion stages are very important issues in the biological cell investigation. in this novel method, we propose a novel method based on Kalman filter and second momentum for tracking cells on Sequential Microscopic Images. In proposed manner at first, we select a cell and cut covering rectangle. in the next step, we predict rectangle center of the cell in Next frame based on a modeling of velocity-acceleration using Kalman filter. The rectangle with triple covering area of previous cell rectangle and predicting center by Kalman filter is considered as a searching area. So, if all objects in the search areas have second momentum error less than threshold, it is selected as a chosen cell and we continue this process till all cells are track. OKF (optimized Kalman filter) algorithm uses second momentum for detecting cells because;value of second momentum doesn't change with rotating cells or changing size. OKF method removes cell after tracking in every frame. So, tracking has an acceptable and excellent precision for tracking in another cell. Also, the algorithm finds cells between frames by changing the reference frame and removing were tracked cells. Performance results of OKF show the proposed method is very admissible, effective method and the work shows great assistance for the cell Cytoplasm tracking. Finally, cells tracking with 98.17% accuracy were achieved by using OKF algorithm.

In this paper, the accuracy of soft computing technique in solar radiation prediction based on series of measured meteorological data (monthly mean sunshine duration, monthly mean maximum and minimum temperature) taking from Iseyin meteorological station in Nigeria was examined. The process, which simulates the solar radiation with support vector regression (SVR), was constructed. The inputs were monthly mean maximum temperature (Tmax), monthly mean minimum temperature (Tmin) and monthly mean sunshine duration ( $$ \bar{n} $$ ). Polynomial and radial basis functions (RBF) are applied as the SVR kernel function to estimate solar radiation. According to the results, a greater improvement in estimation accuracy can be achieved through the SVR with polynomial basis function compared to RBF. The SVR coefficient of determination R 2 with the polynomial function was 0.7395 and with the radial basis function, the R 2 was 0.5877.

In electric and hybrid-electric vehicles, the inverter output voltage is limited by available DC-link voltage, which restricts the vehicle speed and acceleration. Therefore the fundamental component of the motor voltage should be increased by operating inverter in the six-step mode at high speeds. Although hysteresis based direct torque control (DTC) is a straightforward approach and has several advantages, this method cannot work in the six-step mode. In this paper a new hysteresis based DTC with over modulation ability for interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSM) is suggested. In this method, unlike the previously proposed methods, the calculation of the voltage vector or flux reference in different phase angles is not necessary. In the proposed method, the flux trajectory is changed by adjusting the non-switching area and modifying switching table, and thus a seamless transformation between high-frequency switching and six-step square wave is possible. Also in this paper, the dynamic model for an electric vehicle is developed which its traction motor is controlled by proposed DTC. The simulation results prove that the proposed method modify the vehicle performances, notably. These results show that the vehicle with proposed method has a higher top speed and better acceleration. Also it is shown, that the proposed method can improve the vehicle efficiency for various driving cycles. In addition the results confirm the torque discontinuity does not appear in the whole range of vehicle speed.
