Over the last decades, several studies have demonstrated the reflectance effectiveness of middle wave infrared (MWIR) for discriminating among different types of vegetation, and estimating the total and leaf biomass of several forest ecosystems. Therefore, a MWIR aerial image capturing system for vegetation observation is urgently required. Furthermore, stitching those MWIR aerial images together is necessary for a panorama of the region of interest (ROI). Most traditional stitching algorithms for aerial images are designed for visible images, and are not suitable for infrared images that are noisy, blurry, or lack detail. In this paper, a novel real-time MWIR aerial image capturing and stitching system for vegetation observation is proposed. The proposed stitching algorithm for aerial infrared images improved from scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) and random M-least square can find a sufficient number of feature points easily and perform rapid calculations. Therefore, the proposed MWIR aerial image capturing and stitching system for vegetation observation can operate in real time.

The purpose of this paper is to study positioning control performance of the one-DOF manipulator driven by pneumatic artificial muscles using active disturbance rejection controller. Owing to the pneumatic artificial muscle's highly nonlinear and time-varying behavior, it is difficult to achieve good positioning performance. In this paper, the nonlinear and time-varying behavior of pneumatic artificial muscle is considered as disturbance to be estimated by extended state observer. Tracking differentiator is designed to get corresponding smooth signal and differential signal of reference input to avoid overshoot. A linear error feedback combining with estimated value compensation of disturbance is designed to ensure a good response of system. Moreover, stability analysis of the close-loop system is given by Lyapunov theory. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Agents aimed at accomplishing task specific goals require reasoning and learning capabilities;their internal architecture is built using artificial intelli- gence techniques like problem solving, knowledge representation or planning. But agents aimed at interacting with human users are expected to know more than that: they need to show believable behavior and social abilities. Emotions, with their influence on behavior and cognitive processes, are able to provide the required abilities. We believe that modeling human emotional mechanisms as faithfully as possible makes an agent suitable for performing in a human-agent interaction en- vironment. In this paper we present such an architecture, which aims at modeling the human affective mechanisms of primary and secondary emotions, personality and resource usage. The agent is integrated in a human-agent interaction sce- nario, showing how its affect infuences its behavior and the activities during a lesson in an e-learning system.
