In data mining, frequent-pattern mining methods are used for handling binary databases. Utility mining addresses this limitation by considering the item utilities and quantities when discovering the high utility itemsets. In addition, to make these high utility patterns more human-explainable, we use the fuzzy-set theory to the utility mining algorithms. However, real-world databases are usually dynamic. That is, new transactions may be intermittently added, and the corresponding mined knowledge needs to be updated. This paper uses the famous incremental strategy, fast update (FUP), to modify high fuzzy utility itemsets from new coming data. We implement the FUP strategy on the Apriori-based approach for maintaining up-to-date high fuzzy utility *** also conducted experiments to demonstrate that the incremental algorithm significantly outperforms the Apriori-based batch mining method. © 2022 ACM.

This paper proposes an attitude controller utilizing the sliding mode technique for a coaxial tilt-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (CTRUAV) in the presence of external disturbances. The CTRUAV features two servos that empower two pairs of coaxial rotors to tilt independently, along with a rear rotor. This sophisticated configuration sets it apart from regular unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and imposes stringent requirements on the attitude controller design. A nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode controller (NFTSMC) is designed to achieve high speed, accuracy, and robust attitude tracking performance to address these challenges. The finite-time convergence property of NFTSMC is theoretically proved, and the singularity issue is addressed. The effectiveness of the developed control system is validated through comparative simulations and real-time experiments.

In this paper,we review existing approaches to integrating small gain and small phase analysis for feedback stability of dynamical systems,and give a brief outlook for possible future directions in exploring this *** gain analysis has been very successful and popular in control theory since 1960s,while the small phase analysis for multiple-input-multiple-output systems has not been well understood until recently and is now gradually taking ***,there have been attempts to analyzing feedback stability via the integration of gain and phase information over decades,including the combination of small gain with positive realness as well as that with negative *** combinations can be subsumed into a recently proposed framework for gain-phase integration,which brings in new geometrical methods and also sheds new lights on several future directions.

microRNAs play an important role in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Recently, viral microRNAs have been discovered in several viruses, including Hepatitis B virus. This brief work explores bioinformatics tools for viral/host miRNA research and provides insights into the roles of miRNAs in HBV infection, offering an overview of this field, in order to facilitate the selection of the most suitable bioinformatics tools according to individual needs and research goals. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of magnetic resonance (MR) Image has become more significant when treating rectal cancer. Rectal cancer can be staged more accurately with MRI, which serves as a great tool for choosing the most suitable course of action. Image pre-processing is used to improve the quality of image and making it better for analysis and further processing. The study carried out in this paper is concentrated on pre-processing methods like Gaussian and Sobel filtering. The filtering techniques were implemented on Pelvic MR images obtained from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal. The findings suggest that Sobel filtering had a superior output image quality, indicating its potential as a preferred preprocessing technique for enhancing Pelvic MR images in rectal cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. The output image efficiency is calculated by Peak to Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE). © 2024 Owner/Author.

By using Typhoon HIL simulator, a simulation research method of data injection attack against secondary control DC microgrid is established, which reveals the important influence of the attack function on the effectiveness and covertness of the attack. Firstly, a decentralized four-node DC microgrid system using TCP/IP Modbus protocol for communication is built in Typhoon HIL simulator, then, a microgrid security testing experimental platform based on the man-in-the-middle attack as a network attack method is built in Kali Linux system, which can carry out timed single-and multi-links data injection attacks and replay attack on the above four-node DC microgrid. The paper designs a variety of data injection attack schemes to study the impact of data injection attacks on voltage and current control in this DC microgrid, including single-link attack, multi-link composite attack, and replay attack using different attack functions. By controlling the main parameters of the attack function, the amplitude of the fluctuation of the output voltage generated by the attack can be controlled, which can produce a more covert and effective attack effect.

As the utilization of supercapacitors in power system applications continues to increase, it is important to observe their behavior under transient and long-term operations in order to understand their impact on power grids. A real-time reconfigurable hardware testbed (HTB) is a power network emulator that provides flexibility to study various power system scenarios. This paper presents an emulation of a supercapacitor for a photovoltaic (PV) system on the HTB platform such that its dynamic behavior during power system scenarios can be observed. The developed emulator on the HTB is verified by comparing the emulation results with the model developed in MATLAB/Simulink. The experimental results of the emulator are consistent with the simulation results under the grid support scenarios. This supercapacitor emulator can be potentially used for various power system scenarios in addition to the PV applications presented in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

When studying string vibrations, the linear wave equation is most often used. This does not take into account the dependence of the string tension force on the amplitude. For metals, even with a slight elongation, the tension force will increase significantly, which will affect the speed of propagation of transverse waves and the frequency of vibrations. The speed of transverse vibrations is limited by the tensile strength of the material. Thus, for high-strength silicon-chromium-manganese steel, the ratio of the speed of longitudinal waves to the maximum speed of transverse waves is approximately equal to 10. For other materials, this ratio is much larger, so we will assume that longitudinal deformations at each moment of time have time to be evenly distributed along the length of the string, because during one transverse vibration a large number of longitudinal vibrations occur. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper considers the distributed leader-follower stress-matrix-based affine formation control problem of discrete-time linear multi-agent systems with static and dynamic leaders. In leader-follower multi-agent formation control, the aim is to drive a set of agents comprising leaders and followers to form any desired geometric pattern and simultaneously execute any required manoeuvre by controlling only a few agents denoted as leaders. Existing works in literature are mostly limited to the cases where the agents’ inter-agent communications are either in the continuous-time settings or the sampled-data cases where the leaders are constrained to constant (or zero) velocities or accelerations. Here, we relax these constraints and study the discrete-time cases where the leaders can have stationary or time-varying velocities. We propose control laws in the study of different situations and provide some sufficient conditions to guarantee the overall system stability.
