This paper presents some considerations regarding the prediction of the electrical energy consumption. It is well known that the central element of a microeconomic analysis is represented by the economical agents actions, actions that follow their own interest such as: the consumer – maximization of his satisfaction, the producer – maximization of his profit. The study case is focused on the prediction of the sold energy in Banat region. The goal of this study case is to optimize the electrical energy quantity purchased from the producer by the energy distributor in Banat region. The prediction is based on neural networks. There are used feed-forward and Elman type neural networks. In order to enhance the prediction accuracy there have been used both linear and nonlinear preprocessing units. The aspects considered in this paper can be extrapolated in any general case of prediction-based application, not only in the already stated case of electrical energy. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. Currently there is no reliable mechanism available to allow continuous monitoring of all process conditions and leather characteristics inside the closed reactors during leather processing, so no real control. Conditions inside the reactors can only be monitored by stopping the reactor to sample the solution and leather. The automation systems for leather industry rely on stale centralised architecture, a critical point of failure imposing operational bottleneck. To improve the efficiency of leather manufacturing process the paper proposes a multi-agent system (MAS) architecture that is fault tolerant, and that provides high flexibility and agility needed by the turbulent environment of leather industry.

N-grams are a building block in natural language processing and information retrieval. It is a sequence of a string data like contiguous words or other tokens in text documents. In this work, we study how N-gram can be computed efficiently using a MapReduce for distributed data processing and a distributed database named Hbase This technique is applied to construct the training and testing processes using Hadoop MapReduce framework and Hbase. We proposed to focus on the time cost and storage size of the model and exploring different structures of Hbase table. By constructing and comparing a different table structures on training 100 million words for unigram, bigram and trigram models we suggest a table based on half ngram structure is a more suitable choice for distributed language model. The results of this work can be applied in the cloud computing and other large scale distributed language processing areas.

Road traffic is considered as a complex system organized in a decentralized structure composed of three levels. At the highest level of complexity we have a traffic region, considered as a part of a city's road infrastructure. At the next level, the region is decomposed into traffic objects represented by road sections and intersections. At the last level of complexity we have the road segments that are parts of a road section. The traffic is considered in a macroscopic representation and the modeling for the different components of the road region is achieved by employing techniques from fluid mechanics. The results are verified in simulation, based on traffic data. © 2013 IEEE.

The current situation of environmental resources requires their efficient usage through efficient process control. But, process control can not be achieved without an essential component: the communication between all devices, such as sensors, controllers, actuators, programming stations etc. The aim is to achieve the irrigation process of plants in greenhouse conditions. Therefore, it is submitted a comprehensive application that proposes to be a distributed control system including data acquisition and processing, both local and remote monitoring of the process parameters. The distributed system is based on modern equipment: Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMI, Memsic e̅Ko Pro wireless sensors network, level sensors for irrigation tanks and actuators such as on/off valves and pumps. In terms of communication between equipments, an industrial bus and protocols were used - Profinet and wireless communication. The software part is provided by TIA Portal with STEP 7 and WinCC flexible RT and LOGO! Soft Comfort for programming the automation devices. ModbusTCP was used to develop the communication protocol between central devices.

It has been recently suggested that concrete processes occurring on the Sun (e.g. sunspots) significantly affect the tropical cyclogenesis. Despite this finding the current understanding of the processes that generate tropical cyclones is still limited. We herewith present a new complex monitoring tool for the collection and storage of relevant environmental information to solve the problem of the tropical cyclone prediction. More specifically, a three-level methodology for making decisions on the dynamical evolution of the ocean-atmosphere system is suggested. This methodology is based on a recently proposed environmental instability indicator and the use of sequential analysis process within which a stage of training is established, when all boundaries are located. Effectiveness of this methodology is assessed by examination of several examples of tropical hurricanes. More specifically, it is demonstrated how this tool can be employed to monitor the tropical hurricanes, like Katrina (2005), Irene (2011) and Isaac (2012).

In this paper we propose a supervised multi-agent control strategy for leather manufacturing processes. In a tannery numerous processes are performed and in order to control them we use an agent for each process. Due to the control from distance, the systems are affected by varying communication delays which can affect the quality of the final product. The supervisor is used to adjust, by using the fuzzy logic, the command provided by each agent. Simulation results are presented. The results show performance improvement when our control strategy is used.

The paper will present the implementation of numeric systems for process control and it will explain the problems that arise from the independent way of development of the actual control tasks - oriented to control theory away from the real time system- oriented to operating system theory. It will then be described the effects o running such control on an on-the-shelf resources deprived hardware environment, and the way these can be surpassed using co-designed control theory.

In this paper are presented some new concepts of control applied in Power systems. Are given the architectures and methodologies based on the agents theory. The complexity of Power systems is included into a new paradigm - Complex Adaptive systems - and the modelling and control of Power systems based on intelligent agents are considered. Some concepts on hierarchical and heterarchical architectures which include different intelligent techniques are also presented in this paper.
