Since the emergence of Pokémon Go in 2016, the world has been introduced to Augmented Reality (AR) games. Many IT companies have begun developing augmented reality (AR) games due to the great commercial potential in this industry. Certain products may have managed to remain viable in the market, while others were forced to close due to one or two factors. Since the emergence of Pokémon Go, no other game has managed to surpass its unprecedented success. The company responsible for developing Pokémon Go has decided to shut down one of their games due to a lack of consumer interest. The technology of augmented reality (AR) is consistently associated with the concept of immersion. Immersion is a key aspect of the game that allows users to deeply engage and feel fully involved in the experience. This study will employ a quantitative methodology, utilising a questionnaire that will be distributed to and completed by those who have engaged in augmented reality (AR) games. The data will be analysed using Smart PLS to examine the impact of user experience on immersion, which in turn influences intention. After gathering over 200 participants by spreading google form questionnaires and doing data analysis, the findings indicate that only a few aspects of user experience, namely Brand Experience and User Need Experience, have an impact on reasons. Niantic, the developer of Pokémon Go, was unable to replicate their success with a similar augmented reality game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The initial release occurred on June 21, 2019, and the shutdown took place on December 21, 2021. In the beginning, they shown a profound enthusiasm for the game but were unable to sustain it, much as Pokémon Go. According to Niantic CEO John Hanke, the primary reason for the game's shutdown was its immersion. In this paper, we first introduce the analytical R-D model of scalable video in our recent work. The R-D model is induced by the R-D analysis of Generalized Gaussian Distribution (GGD). Then we proposed a simple algorithm for constant quality reconstruction of scalable video using the analytical R-D model. It needs not any search operation. The computation complexity of the proposed algorithm is O(N), where N is the smoothed frames. Extensive experiments on MPEG-4 FGS video show the efficiency and effective of our algorithm. Since our R-D analysis and smooth algorithm are general, intuitively they can be used in SVC video.

To emulate human emotions in robots, the mathematical representation of emotion is important for each component of affective computing, such as emotion recognition, generation, and expression. In a method that learns DNN from unimodality and represents emotions by vectors of continuous values (Emotional Space), the acquired Emotional Space is likely to depend on the modality, and considering the number of dimensions of Emotional Space is necessary. In this study, we aim at the acquisition of modality independent Emotional Space. We propose a method of acquiring Emotional Space by integrating multimodalities on a DNN and combining the emotion recognition task and unification task of Emotional Space of each modality. Through the experiments with audio-visual data, we confirmed in various dimensions of Emotional Space that there are differences in Emotional Space acquired from unimodality, and the proposed method can acquire a modality independent Emotional Space. We also investigated the compatibility of the recognition and the unification score by changing the number of dimensions of Emotional Space. Finally, we indicate the proposed method can acquire sufficient Emotional Space with a small number of dimensions, such as five or six dimensions, under this paper's experimental conditions. © 2020 The institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

computer games continue to present challenging experimental fields for developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) models. With Case-Based Reasoning and Clustering, this work proposes novel cases and clusters-based reuse criteria for implementing card-playing agents with diversified playing skills. Using the game of Truco, a common game in South America, we detail how game actions are reused from past cases selected as query answers for given game problems. In doing so, the majority rule, the probability-based lottery, the probability of victory, and the number of points won reuse policies are used to select a cluster of cases. Then these policies are also used to select game actions from the cases within the selected cluster. Investigating the combined exploration of reuse policies, experiments of different natures evaluate the performance of implemented Truco bots disputing matches against each other. Players in these tournaments are equipped with varied policies and use case bases constructed differently. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for coding the stereoscopic video sequence based on the global displacement information between the left- and right-view images. MPEG-4 temporal scalable video coding scheme is employed as the baseline, in which the left- and right-view images are compressed as the base and enhancement layer, respectively. To further improve the coding efficiency, some intuitive properties of stereoscopic videos are utilized. One of the major properties lies in the global displacement between the left- and right-view images. In this paper, we propose coding the right-view image with global motion compensated prediction from the left-view image. A further main property of stereoscopic video arises from the fact that, objects simultaneously existing in the left- and right-view images usually result in the very close motion vectors. Based on the global motion information, the motion vectors of the right-view sequence can be easily predicted from that of the left-view sequence. Rate-distortion optimization is also used to select the coding mode. Experimental results show that, compared to the MPEG-4 temporal scalability algorithm for low bitrate stereoscopic video coding, the proposed algorithm can save the bitrate up to 20%. © 2003 IEEE.

Image matching is a fundamental task of many computer vision problems. In this paper we present a novel approach for matching two images in the presence of image rotation, scale, and illumination changes. The proposed approach is based on local invariant features. A two-step process detects local invariant regions. Characteristic circles associated with these regions illustrate the position and radius of the regions. Then, the regions are represented by a new image descriptor. To test the new descriptor, we evaluate it in image matching and retrieval experiments. The experimental results show that using our descriptors results in effective and faster matching. © 2005 IEEE.

The selection and prioritization of software requirements represents an area of interest in Search-Based Software Engineering (SBSE) and its main focus is finding and selecting a set of requirements that may be part of a software release. This paper presents a systematic review and mapping that investigated, analyzed, categorized and classified the SBSE approaches that have been proposed to address software requirement selection and prioritization problems, reporting quantitative and qualitative assessment. Initially 39 papers returned from our search strategy in this area and they were analyzed by 18 previously established quality criteria. The results of this systematic review show which aspects of the requirements selection and prioritization problems were addressed by researchers, which approaches and search techniques are currently adopted to address these problems, as well as the strengths and weaknesses in this research area highlighted from the quality criteria. © 2014 Elsevier Inc. Manila Bay is a significant contributor to the Philippines' fish production, but its resources have been depleted due to overfishing, pollution, and damage, leading to a decline in fish catch and a shift towards less valuable species. Conventional approaches to fisheries stock assessment impose constraints on our comprehension of fish population dynamics. These limitations can be overcome through the utilization of machine learning techniques, which enable the forecasting and modeling of fisheries populations with improved accuracy and understanding. In this study, the commercial fisheries populations data collected from 2018 to 2021 in Manila Bay were used to predict the abundance of species fisheries production data using the K-NN - MLP - Logistic Regression (KNMLPR) model based on the majority voting ensemble approach. Analysis revealed that it is possible to combine the strengths of multiple models and improve overall predictive performance. The results also suggest that the k-nearest neighbors and logistic regression models have the best performance in predicting fish species population dynamics, while the neural network model shows slightly lower accuracy. This study provides valuable insights for fishery management and policymaking to support sustainable fishing practices in the region. Further research could focus on exploring additional machine learning algorithms and incorporating environmental factors to improve the prediction accuracy of the model. © 2023 IEEE.

To maintain excellence in global hyper-competitive economies in the upcoming decades, manufacturers must improve the design, development, and distribution of subsequent product generations, production technologies, equipment, and processes. High-performance computing (HPC) solves the application of significant challenges using computer modeling, simulation, and analytical technology. By using HPC technology, products design will be faster, making and testing prototypes will save time, the production process can be simplified, the cost of innovation will decrease, and high-value innovation will be quickly developed. This study uses the PRISMA method, based on predetermined keywords and analyzes the algorithms, frameworks and programming languages and the processes that are most commonly used to optimize the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). In the digital era, the demand for quick access to goods (q-Commerce) has driven retail companies to develop online shopping applications, aiming to attract more consumers. To cater to the demands of q-Commerce, specialized mobile applications that prioritize fast delivery and user-friendly experiences are crucial. However, developing and maintaining these applications present challenges in terms of speed of development and security. This research focuses on a retail company, PT X, with a q-Commerce application serving 3.5 million active users monthly. The research aims to assess PT X's capability maturity level in application development governance using the COBIT 2019 Capability Maturity Model. Additionally, the study investigates the differences in assessment methods between COBIT 2019 and previous versions. The findings contribute to understanding in which level of capability maturity that companies can achieve in developing quick commerce applications with a large user base. Findings of this research provides an overview for PT X to initiate the necessary initial steps to comply with the good application development according to COBIT 2019 standard. This research also highlights to future researchers that COBIT 2019 is primarily a framework for enterprise-level assessment and need to be adjusted to be suitable for measurements below the enterprise level. © 2023 IEEE.
