Semantic matching is widely used in many natural language processing tasks. In this paper, we focus on the semantic matching between short texts and design a model to generate deep features, which describe the semantic relevance between short "text object". Furthermore, we design a method to combine shallow features of short texts (i.e., LSI, VSM and some other handcraft features) with deep features of short texts (i.e., word embedding matching of short text). Finally, a ranking model (i.e., RankSVM) is used to make the final judgment. In order to evaluate our method, we implement our method on the task of matching posts and responses. Results of experiments show that our method achieves the state-of-the-art performance by using shallow features and deep features. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Critical path selection is very important in delay testing. Critical paths found by conventional static timing analysis (STA) tools are inadequate to represent the real timing of the circuit, since neither the testability of paths nor the statistical variation of cell delays caused by process variation is considered. This paper proposed a novel path selection method considering process variation. The circuit is firstly simplified by eliminating non-critical edges under statistical timing model, and then divided into sub-circuits, while each sub-circuit has only one prime input (PI) and one prime output (PO). Critical paths are selected only in critical sub-circuits. The concept of partially critical edges (PCEs) and completely critical edges (CCEs) are introduced to speed up the path selection procedure. Two path selection strategies are also presented to search for a testable critical path set to cover all the critical edges. The experimental results showed that the proposed circuit division approach is efficient in path number reduction, and PCEs and CCEs play an important role as a guideline during path selection. This paper presents a feature weighting schema to improve the performance of Information-Theoretic Co-clustering (ITCC). The new algorithm, named as Feature Weighting Information-Theoretic Co-clustering (FWITCC), weights each feature with the mutual information shared by the features and the documents. The weighting schema makes informative features more important and noisy features less important, so that it can improve the qualities of resulted clusters. Experimental results on both synthetic data sets and 20Newsgroup data sets have demonstrated that our new approach has better clustering performance than (ITCC). © 2009 IEEE.

High-performance libraries, the performance-critical building blocks for high-level applications, will assume greater importance on modern processors as they become more complex and diverse. However, automatic library generators are still immature, forcing library developers to manually tune library to meet their performance objectives. We are developing a new script-controlled compilation framework to help domain experts reduce much of the tedious and error-prone nature of manual tuning, by enabling them to leverage their expertise and reuse past optimization experiences. We focus on demonstrating improved performance and productivity obtained through using our framework to tune BLAS3 routines on three GPU platforms: up to 5.4x speedups over the CUBLAS achieved on NVIDIA GeForce 9800, 2.8x on GTX285, and 3.4x on Fermi Tesla C2050. Our results highlight the potential benefits of exploiting domain expertise and the relations between different routines (in terms of their algorithms and data structures). © 2011 IEEE.

Immersive learning has gained significant attention with the rising trend of spatial computing, particularly in the after-pandemic era. Numerous research has explored the potential of immersive learning in higher education, primarily on the educational sector. However, prior research has frequently focused too narrowly on the effects of technology and neglected to address the crucial element influencing successful immersive learning in higher education. This study seeks to pinpoint the crucial element contributing to the development of immersive learning experiences. The methodology uses a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2018 up to 2023 to investigate the critical factors of immersive Learning in Higher Education. From the 728 papers initially retrieved, 274 were considered potential candidates, and ultimately, 86 articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results reveal that the critical factors include learning design, technology, immersion, engagement, interactivity, and usability. Academic interests will benefit from this SLR's consequences as institutions create models for designing suitable immersive learning, especially within the context of higher education. © 2023 IEEE.

Spinal functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) is a newly emerging non-invasive imaging technique that has been introduced to study the Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent (BOLD) changes in the spinal cord associated with a certain activity or even at rest. Spinal fMRI is also used to assess the treatment of many dysfunctions affect the spinal cord such as spinal cord injury (SCI) and Multiple sclerosis (MS). The purpose of this paper is to propose a literature review of spinal fMRI studies performed on healthy human volunteers. The studies reviewed are divided based on the paradigm being performed during image acquisition into (1) studies under activities and stimulus which are further classified according to the type of the stimuli, and (2) studies at resting state. Moreover, the limitations of spinal fMRI and how to tackle them are discussed. © 2019 IEEE.

The Smart Power Grid (SPG) is pivotal in orchestrating and managing demand response in contemporary smart cities, leveraging the prowess of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Within the immersive SPG environment, the ubiquitous deployment of smart meters stands as a testament to their paramount importance in the realm of vigilant monitoring and oversight. These smart meters are installed on high-tension electricity lines and transmit information about electricity outages and other issues to the utility center. To access services from utility centers, smart meters need to communicate securely over a public channel, even though the network itself is insecure. However, potential attacks from adversaries ( Ad) can exploit this communication. Therefore, protecting this communication is of utmost importance. Several privacy-preserving authentication protocols designed for SPG have been introduced in the literature. Nevertheless, a significant number of these protocols exhibit vulnerabilities to diverse security attacks. This article introduces a lightweight and anonymous authentication protocol specifically designed to address these concerns in the SPG environment. Our protocol ensures both security and efficiency, surpassing other comparable protocols in terms of its lightweight nature. By employing both formal and informal analysis, we showcase the robustness of our protocol against significant attacks while remaining lightweight. The proposed protocol provides added security features and incurs 23.8879% lower computation cost than related protocols. Consequently, our protocol is highly suitable for implementation in the SPG system. © 2020 IEEE.

Humans sense of touch consists in a complexity of sensors and nervous system. The information inferred by this system enables the daily dexterous manipulation tasks. In biological systems, there is no conscious prioritization of sensors while performing tactile exploration and the selection of exploratory movements is driven by learning instincts and data gathered by previous movements. The development of artificial systems tries to mimic such systems with engineered sensors and strategies for movement selection. This paper presents a data-driven analysis to the problem of sensor selection in the contour following for shape discrimination task. This task consists of a 4-DOF robotic finger exploring a set of 7 synthetic shapes. The data collected from the motors, inertial measurement unit, and magnetometer was analyzed applying principal component analysis and a multilayer perceptron neural network. Results show the variation of classification rate depending on the fingertip material and sensor considered. It is worth to observe that the magnetometer was the most robust in both cases. © 2015 IEEE.

Image-guided surgery (IGS) involves using surgical instruments tracking system to guide the surgeon during invasive surgical procedures. The use of preoperative or intraoperative images is very essential in providing navigation for different medical applications. In this paper, a literature review of different imaging modalities that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD) is proposed. The imaging modalities discussed include x-ray fluoroscopy, coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), fractional flow reserve (FFR), cardiac single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) and ultrasound. Additionally, pseudoaneurysms, which can result from percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) procedure, are reviewed as well as the treatment procedure. Finally, a comparison between the different imaging modalities is carried out, based on the number of papers that have been published, in addition to the sensitivity and specificity for each modality according to PubMed and Web of science databases. © 2019 IEEE.

Universities can employ information technology as one means of achieving their goals and objectives. Universities can get advantages from information technology, such as effective resource management and information management for decision-making. However, don't forget that the campus must consider what technology is appropriate to assist them achieve their goals, particularly in the current industrial era 4.0 where technology is available with many different choices. The campus requires an enterprise architecture in order to design, manage, and coordinate information technology infrastructure, applications, and processes strategically and thoroughly. The adoption of enterprise information system architecture (EA) is also intended to improve the quality of services provided to internal and external stakeholders. In this case, Enterprise Architecture can help an organization to match its information technology resources with business processes and strategies to achieve their goals. This research was conducted using TOGAF ADM, also known as the Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method. This method offers best practices for creating enterprise architecture and emphasizes several steps that include creating an architectural vision, information systems, business architecture modeling to help XYZ campus manage all their information technology. © 2023 IEEE.
