Tourism is one of Indonesia's main economic drivers because it can absorb many workers and bring in foreign exchange through tourism activities. Research related to Smart Tourism Destinations (STDs) and the technology that supports them has gained popularity and has received special attention in the last ten years. STDs show that various technologies are applied to a tourist destination, one of which aims to increase added value for the surrounding community and tourists. This study employs the systematic literature review (SLR) method to investigate smart tourism destinations and governance topics. This research aims to identify and analyze the main components of Smart Tourism Destinations Governance. Two research questions were developed and incorporated into the search term. This research resulted in 24 research papers on smart tourism destinations and governance. The result of this study is a proposed IT Governance Model, which can be a guideline for tourism's DMOs (Destination Management Organizations), tourism enterprises, IT companies that support smart tourism concepts, and policymakers (government) to improve their service to society/community. The model can be used as a guide to governing the IT implementation in smart tourism destinations projects. Limitations of this study regarding the scalability of database and keyword usage and their methodologies. Theoretical implication for scholars in the next research is that research can be conducted on how to implement this model and whether this model can be easily adopted. This future work also regarding the IT Governance Maturity Model or the measurement of IT Gov readiness in smart tourism destinations. © 2022 IEEE.

Competition for shared memory resources on multiprocessors is the most dominant cause for slowing down applications and makes their performance varies unpredictably. It exacerbates the need for Quality of Service (QoS) on such systems. In this paper, we propose a fair-progress process scheduling (FPS) policy to improve system fairness. Its strategy is to force the equally-weighted applications to have the same amount of slowdown when they run concurrently. The basic approach is to monitor the progress of all applications at runtime. When we find an application suffered more slowdown and accumulated less effective work than others, we allocate more CPU time to give it a better parity. Our policy also allows different weights to different threads, and provides an effective and robust tuner that allows the OS to freely make tradeoffs between system fairness and higher throughput. Evaluation results show that FPS can significantly improve system fairness by an average of 53.5% and 65.0% on a 4-core processor with a private cache and a 4-core processor with a shared cache, respectively. The penalty is about 1.1% and 1.6% of the system throughput. For memory-intensive workloads, FPS also improves system fairness by an average of 45.2% and 21.1% on 4-core and 8-core system respectively at the expense of a throughput loss of about 2%. © 2012 ACM.

With the proliferation of Web services, service engineers demand good automatic service composition algorithms that not only synthesize the correct work plans from thousands of services but also satisfy the quality requirements of the users. Our observation is that conventional approaches suffer from serious limitations in scalability and accuracy when addressing both requirements simultaneously. We have designed and implemented a tool QSynth to use QoS objectives of service requests as the search directives. This approach effectively prunes the search space and significantly improves the accuracy of the search results. Evaluations show that, compared to the state of the art, QSynth achieves superior scalability and accuracy with respect to a large variety of composition scenarios. Our design of QSynth won the performance championship of Web Services Challenge 2009. © 2010 IEEE.

The rapid growth in the development of Internet-based information systems increases the demand for natural language interfaces that are easy to set up and maintain. Unfortunately, the problem of deep understanding natural language queries is far from being solved. In this paper, an automated question answering system based on domain ontology and question template is proposed, which does not need deep understanding of user's questions. Ontology was employed to model the interesting domain, and properties of concepts are described by a collection of question templates. The system captures a user's intention by matching his questions to predefined templates, and return answers corresponding to template's query focus. The system has been applied to mobile service consulting area, and experimental results show that the system has high practicability as well as maintainability. © 2010 IEEE.

Traditional disease surveillance systems depend on outpatient reporting and virological test results released by hospitals. These data have valid and accurate information about emerging outbreaks but it's often not timely. In recent years the exponential growth of users getting connected to social media provides immense knowledge about epidemics by sharing related information. Social media can now flag more immediate concerns related to outbreaks in real time. In this paper we apply the long short-term memory recurrent neural network (RNN) architecture to classify tweets conveyed influenza-related information and compare its performance with baseline algorithms including support vector machine (SVM), decision tree, naive Bayes, simple logistics, and naive Bayes multinomial. The developed RNN model achieved an F-score of 0.845 on the MedWeb task test set, which outperforms the F-score of SVM without applying the synthetic minority oversampling technique by 0.08. The F-score of the RNN model is within 1% of the highest score achieved by SVM with oversampling technique. © 2017 AFNLP

There are two methods for detecting videos illegally recorded in theaters. One uses digital watermarks to identify on what dates and in what theaters such videos were recorded. The other method uses infrared light, which degrades such videos by using the difference between human and device sensitivities. However, neither method detects the act of recording a video. Therefore, these methods are not the best to prevent movies from being illegally recorded. Our previously proposed method uses reflected infrared light to identify places where surreptitious filming takes place (in this paper, we call a camera used for surreptitious filming a surreptitious filming camera (SFC)). This method focuses infrared light on places where surreptitious filming takes place and disrupts it. In addition, this method distinguishes camera lenses from other lenses, such as those for eyeglasses, to analyze the RGB of reflected infrared light. However, this method cannot capture reflected infrared light depending on a SFC's location and direction. As a result, we propose using a moving infrared detection camera (IDC) to solve these problems and a method for more effectively detecting reflected infrared light. © 2012 IEEE.

The Sixth International Workshop on Persistent Object Systems was held at Les Mazets des Roches near Tarascon, Provence in southern France from the fifth to the ninth of September 1994. The attractive context and autumn warmth greeted the 53 participants from 12 countries spread over five continents. Persistent object systems continue to grow in importance. Almost all significant uses of computers to support human endeavours depend on long-lived and large-scale systems. As expectations and ambitions rise so the sophistication of the systems we attempt to build also rises. The quality and integrity of the systems and their feasibility for supporting large groups of co-operating people depends on their technical founda tion. Persistent object systems are being developed which provide a more robust and yet simpler foundation for these persistent applications. The workshop followed the tradition of the previous workshops in the series, focusing on the design, implementation and use of persistent object systems in particular and persistent systems in general. There were clear signs that this line of research is maturing, as engineering issues were discussed with the aid of evidence from operational systems. The work presented covered the complete range of database facilities: transactions, concurrency, distribution, integrity and schema modifica tion. There were examples of very large scale use, one involving tens of terabytes of data. Language issues, particularly the provision of reflection, continued to be important.

Film industry becomes one of the largest amongst the other economic sectors worldwide nowadays. This industry also has a significant impact in the global economic market. Many movies have been produced each year. However, some movies still fail to reach break-even points every year. Players in this industry need to think carefully when spending most of their money to make a great and successful movie in the market. Several attempts also need to be made to estimate the success performance before a movie can be released. On the audience side, there is an indicator that we can use to decide that a movie is good by looking to its ratings. The industry can use this rating systems as a factor to be considered when evaluating the past movie performances to make better movie for the next production. This study aims to predict the movie ratings and find the most important features which correlate to the ratings. We performed an experiment on IMDb dataset which contains 5,043 movie metadata on four models of machine learning, Linear Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). From the experiment, Random Forest achieves the best performance amongst the four models. © 2020 IEEE.

The Information Age has revolutionized the way students learn in the classroom. The United States Military Academy (USMA) emphasizes the importance of Information Technology (IT) through an academy-wide IT specific goal. This goal supports the USMA's mission of producing Army Officers who can respond effectively to technological changes in the defense of our nation. Courses augmented with IT can be daunting for cadets who lack the experience and confidence level to succeed in the course. As a result, these types of courses are avoided by cadets if at all possible. This is not an option for an aspiring officer who will lead the soldiers of tomorrow on a digitized battlefield. Since 1990, cadets have been issued a computer which has played a central role in bringing the power of IT to all graduates of the Military Academy. Integration of IT in the curriculum begins early with every cadet receiving a laptop computer. An integrated software package is included to support any course of instruction. Cadets receive two courses in IT, one in their freshman year and one in their junior year. The freshman course teaches the cadet the basic functionality of the laptop, a basic programming language, and creating a basic website. The junior course builds on the freshman course by teaching the cadets to create an advanced website, design and build a network, manage a database, and create an information system. IT plays a central role in several overlap courses between engineering and the humanities in such areas as information warfare, terrorism, and the legal aspects of intellectual property rights. What makes this approach unique is the methodical diffusion of IT into course design which removes the barrier between learning and the implementation of IT as an academic multiplier. An academy-wide committee consisting of 12 members is responsible for examining collected data to see how well the Military Academy is meeting its LT goal. In distributed simulation, the purpose of multi-resolution methods is to allow simulation integration getting consis- tent views of different resolutions. In these methods, chal- lenges in the treatment of aggregation and disaggregation can be found, such as synchronization of events and objects, and data reliability when occurs a change of resolu- tion. Doctrines are the basis for operations involving different resources (human and material) with different roles to succeed in operation, and multi-resolution in distributed simulation can take advantage of this factor to ensure the reliability of aggregation and disaggregation processes. The aim of this paper is to propose a new strategy for treatment of multi-resolution, which builds converting rules from doctrine dynamic rules. The multi-resolution converter uses dynamic rules to describe aspects of the doctrine in the ag- gregation and disaggregation processes, increasing the reliability of multi-resolution distributed simulations. This strat- egy was implemented on a High Level Architecture (HLA) federation with virtual and constructive Commercial Off- The-Shelf (COTS) simulators. The experiments showed the exibility of this strategy on managing different doctrines. © 2017 ACM.
