User preference learning has been around for many years. This is a common problem arise in e-commerce system, where the companies need to understand their customers in order to sell the correct products to their target customers. The user preference is also needed in the movie domain area, as the film companies who produce the movie also need to understand how the customers value their movie products, whether the market like it or not. This can help them to predict the best components for the future movie. In order to produce the recommendation to the customer, we can show a list of item in a correct order, sorted from the most relevant/the most liked one to the most irrelevant item. In this paper, we utilize the Learning to Rank (LTR) approach from information retrieval domain area to learn the user preference in recommender system domain. We applied LTR with pairwise approach from the two most popular algorithms in this area, i.e. RankNet and LambdaRank, on 25, 345 user ratings from 5, 000 movie dataset and evaluate both algorithms. We used a Neural Network architecture as the learning mechanism. We also measuring the speed performance of the two algorithms. © 2021 IEEE.

The validation of academic credits and issuance of academic degree certificates in the Brazilian education system currently occurs in a semi or completely noncomputerized way. The actual digitization of this system could make it more secure and decrease bureaucracy in terms of document validation, saving in storage and labor. Due to the recent increase in forgeries and loss of records, it is paramount that this process becomes more transparent and reliable for all involved parties. This article presents a proposal and an implementation for the digitization of degree certificates and academic credits for higher education in the Brazilian education system. A transparent model based on blockchain is proposed, in which higher education institutions register students and their academic credits in a chain of records using the Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure for identity management. This information, associated with smart contracts, enables the reliable and decentralized issuance of degree certificates through the validation of a historical database and the triggering of transactions using smart contracts. The focus of this article is the demonstration of an experiment that validates this proposal. © 2019 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

This paper proposes a harmonization between a product quality model and a software process model used in the industry, CERTICS (a national Brazilian model) and CMMI-DEV (an international model). The focus of this harmonization is on the Competence Area of Continuous Improvement of CERTICS, which addresses the key question of whether the software is the result of Continuous Improvement actions originating in the management of personnel, processes and knowledge to support and enhance their development and technological innovation. The results of the harmonization are examined step by step, as well as including a review of the harmonization, and were assisted by an expert on the CERTICS and CMMI-DEV models. Thus, this paper aims to correlate the structures of the two models to reduce the implementation time and costs, and to stimulate the execution of multi-model implementations in software development. © ISCA, CATA 2017.

This paper presents a harmonization proposal between a product quality model, the CERTICS (a national Brazilian model) and a software process model, CMMI-DEV (an international model) used in the industry. The goal of this harmonization is on the Business Management Competence Area of CERTICS, which focus whether "the software leverages knowledge-based business and it is driven by these business". The results of the harmonization also used the CMMI-SVC model assets and are examined step by step, as well as including a review of the harmonization, and were assisted by an expert on the CERTICS and CMMI-DEV models. In today's environment, financial knowledge is vital and should be possessed by everyone. Numerous people are financially disadvantaged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This serves as a reminder of the critical nature of financial investment in the future. However, many Indonesians, particularly students, are still unfamiliar with capital market investing. In reality, investing in the stock market can provide a variety of benefits, including financial security, capital appreciation, and passive income. Financial literacy concerns can result in a lack of financial awareness among pupils. Indeed, financial literacy is widely available online and can be accessed at any time and from any location. We employed a quantitative method with a non-experimental research design for this study. A questionnaire survey is used to obtain data. The goal of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between student interest in capital market investment and their digital financial literacy. As a result, extensive action is required to increase student interest in the capital market, which is precisely what this study wants to do. According to our findings, students who have access to digital financial and investment information have increased their financial literacy and developed a greater interest in investing in the capital market. Individuals are also encouraged by social media trends to try their hand at investing in the stock market. Additionally, students prefer to invest in stocks and mutual funds over other investing options. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Preference Elicitation is now considered a crucial stage in recommender system. That is the stage where we collect and query preferences of the users as part of interactive decision support system. Preference elicitation can be performed using many ways, such as asking the user explicitly to give ratings or feedbacks for some products, or implicitly observing their behaviour. Once this preference has been collected by the system, it can then be used to generate item recommendation. Using explicit feedback itself, such as rating only, has several drawbacks. Using ratings is very subjective. Two users with similar taste might give different rating to the same item. A user also may not be consistent in giving number to express their liking. In other case, a user may like an item more than the other items, but feels difficult to give lower rating on the other item, because it means that the particular item is just as bad as the one he/she does not like. By showing two different items as a pair, it will be easier for the users to pick which one is the best. In this paper, we show the result of our experiment in predicting user pairwise preferences by using their movie ratings data. We evaluated five different machine learning algorithms to predict the data in pairwise preference format. The result shows that K-Nearest Neighbour and Random Forest outperformed the other algorithms. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper proposes a mapping between two product quality and software processes models used in the industry, the CERTICS Brazilian national model and the CMMI-DEV international model. The focus of this mapping is in the Technological Development Competence Area of CERTICS, which directs the response to the key question on whether 'the software is the result of technological development in the country'. The results of mapping are presented step by step, as well as the mapping review, which had the cooperation of one expert in CERTICS and CMMI-DEV models. Thus, this paper aims to correlate the structures of the two models in order to facilitate and reduce the implementation time and costs, and to stimulate the execution of multi-model implementations in software development enterprises. © 2016 IEEE.

The rapid development of technology and ease of information today greatly affects all aspects of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology played an important role in maintaining community activities continued smoothly despite being hampered by several health policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many phenomena develop with new technologies in several fields, one in the economic field is e-commerce. E-commerce is a site that makes it easier for buyers to get the goods desired by the community, as well as the various interesting promos that are the attractiveness of the community to constantly shop in e-commerce so that the community applies consumptive behavior. So that the problem that will be discussed in this study is the development of e-commerce technology that affects people’s behavior in shopping which tends to be consumptive and hedonic. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact or effect of the use of e-commerce on consumptive behavior during the pandemic period and provide an overview of the potential regarding e-commerce in the future. This research method is quantitative. The data collection technique used for this study is to use a questionnaire. Thus, this research is expected to minimize the negative impacts that can be caused by the increasing consumptive behavior of society during the pandemic and provide wise e-commerce use. The results of this study can be seen from calculations using a formula that respondents tend to be more extravagant during the pandemic and for future potential, respondents will certainly enjoy the convenience provided by e-commerce. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

E-learning is used as one of the innovations in online learning, but in its implementation e-learning has limitations, especially in terms of flexibility, so that new innovations emerge, namely learning using m-learning because it is more flexible and can be accessed anywhere and anytime. The purpose of writing this study is to analyse problems and business opportunities related to the design of a mobile app-based start-up business in an e-learning system in a company and to design an information system in the form of an Android-based application to answer the analysis of existing problems and opportunities. The methodology used in this study is Rational Unified Process (RUP) with an Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) approach which is described by the notation of the Unified Modelling Language (UML). The business analysis used in the writing of this study is the Business Model Canvas (BMC), Marketing Mix, Porter's Five Forces which is complemented by Financial Analysis using the Payback Period (PP), Break Even Point (BEP), and Return on Investment (ROI). In this case, Cleva creates an application system that helps companies carry out training for their employees and helps employees to learn about technical skills and soft skills through mobile-based applications © 2021 IEEE.

People’s perspectives and behaviors altered in a variety of ways during the pandemic period, most notably in areas related to health, environment, and most notably waste management. Many people still prefer to work from home and this in turn leads to a large accumulation of garbage without having any proper means of disposal. As a result, the garbage area will serve as a breeding ground for illness. Garbage is usually composed of a residual waste generated from a product or object that has outlived its useful life, but can still be recycled into a valuable item. On this basis, the solution is to use a waste bank;it is a collection point for sorted garbage. It is claimed that using a waste bank can help in preventing the garbage accumulation. The main purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of the waste bank to end garbage accumulation. The information gathered through a review of the literature and direct interviews with multiple informants. According to the findings of the literature review, waste banks can provide a variety of benefits to users, as well as the community and surrounding environment. The proposed research study's findings show that the changes in community activity patterns contribute to an increase in garbage, and that the community plays an important role in waste control. From the performed research study, it is evident that m any individuals are interested about garbage banks and their benefits based on this presumption. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
