The decision tree ensembles use a single data feature at each node for splitting the data. However, splitting in this manner may fail to capture the geometric properties of the data. Thus, oblique decision trees generate the oblique hyperplane for splitting the data at each non-leaf node. Oblique decision trees capture the geometric properties of the data and hence, show better generalization. The performance of the oblique decision trees depends on the way oblique hyperplanes are generate and the data used for the generation of those hyperplanes. Recently, multiple classifiers have been used in a heterogeneous random forest (RaF) classifier, however, it fails to generate the trees of proper depth. Moreover, double RaF studies highlighted that larger trees can be generated via bootstrapping the data at each non-leaf node and splitting the original data instead of the bootstrapped data recently. The study of heterogeneous RaF lacks the generation of larger trees while as the double RaF based model fails to take over the geometric characteristics of the data. To address these shortcomings, we propose heterogeneous oblique double RaF. The proposed model employs several linear classifiers at each non-leaf node on the bootstrapped data and splits the original data based on the optimal linear classifier. The optimal hyperplane corresponds to the models based on the optimized impurity criterion. The experimental analysis indicates that the performance of the introduced heterogeneous double random forest is comparatively better than the baseline models. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed heterogeneous double random forest, we used it for the diagnosis of Schizophrenia disease. This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the “performing Scalable Inference” technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way..

Sugarcane plantations in Indonesia are still managed in a labor-intensive manner, especially plantation-owned by farmers. Labor intensive means that every stage of work in sugarcane plantation management still uses manpower. One of the jobs in sugarcane plantations that requires a lot of labor is sugar cane harvesting. Trend changing in the workforce gender would affect the quantity and quality of jobs, which is determined by the workforce's capacity and the workload of the work performed. The result of this research was a sugarcane agricultural calculator that made it simple for farmers to measure manpower and transportation requirements in estimating harvest costs. Manpower and transportation of harvested sugarcane commodities were estimated through the workload approach, namely, crop production and manpower's ability to carry a load. These two components helped sugarcane farmers to determine manpower and transportation during the harvest. The final yield produced by the projected harvest labor cost would be known immediately.

In this work, we propose a deep artificial neural network (D-ANN) to estimate the work function fluctuation (WKF) on 4-channel stacked gate-all-around (GAA) silicon (Si) nanosheet (NS) and nanofin (NF) MOSFET devices for the first time. The 2-layered simple deep model can well predict the transfer characteristics for both NS/NF FET with a large number of (128) input features, utilizing considerably lesser (1100 samples) data uniformly. The resultant model is evaluated by the $\mathrm{R}^{2}$ score and RMSE to witness its competency and the average error is $< 4\%$ . We do also discuss the circuit simulation possibility by applying the ANN approach.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely recognized as the representative waveform for 5G wireless networks, which can directly support sensing/positioning with existing infrastructure. To guarantee superior sensing/positioning accuracy while supporting high-speed communications simultaneously, the dual functions tend to be assigned with different resource elements (REs) due to their diverse design requirements. This motivates optimization of resource allocation/waveform design across time, frequency, power and delay-Doppler domains. Therefore, this article proposes two cross-domain waveform optimization strategies for effective convergence of OFDM-based communications and sensing/positioning, following communication- and sensing-centric criteria, respectively. For the communication-centric design, to maximize the achievable data rate, a fraction of REs are optimally allocated for communications according to prior knowledge of the communication channel. The remaining REs are then employed for sensing/positioning, where the sidelobe level and peak-to-average power ratio are suppressed by optimizing its power-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics for sensing performance improvement. For the sensing-centric design, a 'locally' perfect auto-correlation property is ensured for accurate sensing and positioning by adjusting the unit cells of the ambiguity function within its region of interest (RoI). Afterwards, the irrelevant cells beyond RoI, which can readily determine the sensing power allocation, are optimized with the communication power allocation to enhance the achievable data rate. We investigate the use of animal videos (observations) to improve Reinforcement Learning (RL) efficiency and performance in navigation tasks with sparse rewards. Motivated by theoretical considerations, we make use of weighted policy optimization for off-policy RL and describe the main challenges when learning from animal videos. We propose solutions and test our ideas on a series of 2D navigation tasks. We show how our methods can leverage animal videos to improve performance over RL algorithms that do not leverage such observations. © 2022, CC BY.

In magnetic confinement fusion devices, the equilibrium configuration of a plasma is determined by the balance between the hydrostatic pressure in the fluid and the magnetic forces generated by an array of external coils and the plasma itself. The location of the plasma is not known a priori and must be obtained as the solution to a free boundary problem. The partial differential equation that determines the behavior of the combined magnetic field depends on a set of physical parameters (location of the coils, intensity of the electric currents going through them, magnetic permeability, etc.) that are subject to uncertainty and variability. The confinement region is in turn a function of these stochastic parameters as well. In this work, we consider variations on the current intensities running through the external coils as the dominant source of uncertainty. This leads to a parameter space of dimension equal to the number of coils in the reactor. With the aid of a surrogate function built on a sparse grid in parameter space, a Monte Carlo strategy is used to explore the effect that stochasticity in the parameters has on important features of the plasma boundary such as the location of the x-point, the strike points, and shaping attributes such as triangularity and elongation. Categorizing learning analytics models according to their goals and identifying their relevant components: A review of the learning analytics literature from 2011 to 2019

This study aimed to categorize learning analytics (LA) models and identify their relevant components by analyzing LA-related articles published between 2011 and 2019 in international journals. A total of 101 articles discussing various LA models were selected. These models were characterized according to their goals and components. A qualitative content analysis approach was used to develop a coding scheme for analyzing the aforementioned models. The results reveal that the studied LA models belong to five categories, namely performance, meta-cognitive, interactivity, communication, and data models. The majority of the selected LA-related articles were data models, followed by performance models. This review also identified 16 components that were commonly used in the studied models. The results indicate that analytics was the most common component in the studied models (used in 10 LA models). Furthermore, visualization was the most relevant component in the studied communication models. © 2021 The Authors

We consider a specific class of polynomial systems that arise in parameter identifiability problems of models of ordinary differential equations (ODE) and discover a method for speeding up the Gr¨obner basis computation by using specific variable ordering and weights coming from the structure of the ODE model.
