Myocarditis, characterized by inflammation of the heart muscle, has seen a notable 62.2% increase in incidence over the past three decades, leading to 324,490 deaths in 2019. Despite advancements in understanding its etiology, several critical questions remain unresolved, highlighting the need for improved patient treatment strategies. Computational methods play a crucial role in unraveling the complex interactions between pathogens and the immune system. This study explores the use of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to accelerate a newly developed model for myocardial edema formation in acute infectious myocarditis. The model describes the concentrations of pathogens and leukocytes using a nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Our findings demonstrate a mean computational speedup of 5.93, while maintaining a Root Mean Squared Error of 0.0015. These results indicate that PINNs can accurately replicate the ODE system's solutions, offering substantial computational efficiency for this application. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid development of technology and ease of information today greatly affects all aspects of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology played an important role in maintaining community activities continued smoothly despite being hampered by several health policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many phenomena develop with new technologies in several fields, one in the economic field is e-commerce. E-commerce is a site that makes it easier for buyers to get the goods desired by the community, as well as the various interesting promos that are the attractiveness of the community to constantly shop in e-commerce so that the community applies consumptive behavior. So that the problem that will be discussed in this study is the development of e-commerce technology that affects people’s behavior in shopping which tends to be consumptive and hedonic. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact or effect of the use of e-commerce on consumptive behavior during the pandemic period and provide an overview of the potential regarding e-commerce in the future. This research method is quantitative. The data collection technique used for this study is to use a questionnaire. Thus, this research is expected to minimize the negative impacts that can be caused by the increasing consumptive behavior of society during the pandemic and provide wise e-commerce use. Compressing VAE-Based Out-of-Distribution Detectors for Embedded Deployment

Out-of-distribution (OOD) detectors can act as safety monitors in embedded cyber-physical systems by identifying samples outside a machine learning model’s training distribution to prevent potentially unsafe actions. However, OOD detectors are often implemented using deep neural networks, which makes it difficult to meet real-time deadlines on embedded systems with memory and power constraints. We consider the class of variational autoencoder (VAE) based OOD detectors where OOD detection is performed in latent space, and apply quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation. These techniques have been explored for other deep models, but no work has considered their combined effect on latent space OOD detection. While these techniques increase the VAE’s test loss, this does not correspond to a proportional decrease in OOD detection performance and we leverage this to develop lean OOD detectors capable of real-time inference on embedded CPUs and GPUs. We propose a design methodology that combines all three compression techniques and yields a significant decrease in memory and execution time while maintaining AUROC for a given OOD detector. We demonstrate this methodology with two existing OOD detectors on a Jetson Nano and reduce GPU and CPU inference time by 20% and 28% respectively while keeping AUROC within 5% of the baseline. People’s perspectives and behaviors altered in a variety of ways during the pandemic period, most notably in areas related to health, environment, and most notably waste management. Many people still prefer to work from home and this in turn leads to a large accumulation of garbage without having any proper means of disposal. As a result, the garbage area will serve as a breeding ground for illness. Garbage is usually composed of a residual waste generated from a product or object that has outlived its useful life, but can still be recycled into a valuable item. On this basis, the solution is to use a waste bank;it is a collection point for sorted garbage. It is claimed that using a waste bank can help in preventing the garbage accumulation. The main purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of the waste bank to end garbage accumulation. The information gathered through a review of the literature and direct interviews with multiple informants. According to the findings of the literature review, waste banks can provide a variety of benefits to users, as well as the community and surrounding environment. The proposed research study's findings show that the changes in community activity patterns contribute to an increase in garbage, and that the community plays an important role in waste control. With the growing demands for Precision Agriculture (PA) in Indonesia, researchers have evaluated the utilization of Machine Learning for predicting oil palm yields and determining variables affecting them. Previous studies showed that meteorological variables, including rainfalls and wind speed, are associated with oil palm yields. In this research, the Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model and the Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) were deployed for analyzing the importance of 15 agrometeorological variables in predicting oil palm yield. The best model attained 1.911 RMSE and 0.855 RRʹ. By analyzing the weights and gains of the XGBoost model along with the SHAP values, it was found that the yield in the previous year, the age and number of plants, the area of peat lands, and meteorological parameters such as rainfall rates and the number of rainy days in the previous three years were considered important. The previous year's yield in particular possesses the greatest weight and gain values according to the model, and the highest SHAP value among all input variables. However, the meteorological data used in this research are only limited to rainfall rates and the number of rainy days. In the future, more diverse variables can be analyzed. © 2023 The Authors. Multi-criteria rating conversion without relation loss for recommender systems

Traditional recommender systems let users provide a single rating indicating their overall preferences toward items. Beside overall rating, multi-criteria recommender systems let users rate on multiple aspects of items with multi-criteria ratings. Most methods in recommender systems are based on collaborative filtering, which makes recommendations by exploiting ratings from neighbor users. However, most of them ignore the fact that rating behaviors of users vary due to their personal preference biases. Thus, exploiting ratings from neighbors directly might result in a poor recommendation. To solve this, the rating conversion techniques have been applied in some single criterion recommendations. For multi-criteria ratings, converting each criterion rating independently might result in loss of relation among criteria ratings. We propose a novel method that simultaneously converts all criteria ratings between users to maintain their implicit relations. The multi-criteria ratings are first normalized by variances of users and principle component analysis is applied to extract user preference patterns. Such patterns are then used for multi-criteria rating conversion. The experiment results show that our method outperforms both current single and multi-criteria rating conversion techniques with RMSEs of 1.1082 and 3.5574 on TripAdvisor and Yahoo datasets respectively, while maintaining considerably high level of prediction coverages. © 2019 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Courier services are a means of transport that can be used to deliver orders to customers or claim orders from them, and customers can use technology from the courier service like track order to track their order. The use of courier service nowadays is common that every day, people use courier service as their daily means of transport for delivering goods. However, in situations like pandemic, the courier services need to put more effort into their services, so that customers can use courier services with trust. The courier service must be more careful to deliver customer orders or send orders to customers. For this research methodology, the data collection technique using Google Forms and collecting data directly from people about their opinion toward the research have been employed. The result of the data collecting technique is depicted as the usage of the courier service during COVID-19 pandemic starting from March 2020. The results vary every month because not everyone uses the courier service every day. Endoscopic images usually have many overexposed regions due to strong and focused light sources and, consequently, physicians need to change the camera angle for a clear view from time to time. This work targets removing the specular reflections from the endoscopy images but maintaining the structural and semantic texture in the images. Unlike the state-of-the-art image inpainting methods, the proposed method treats the specular reflection removal problem as an image-to-image translation task by skipping the specular detection step. The technique uses Dense Multi-scale Fusion Network (DMFN), which aims for small size and clear images, as the base and revises the network to support the large size and noisy endoscopy images. Moreover, the method can recover structure from large overexposed regions. Experimental results show that under different glare ratios and granularity settings, it is more effective than the Partial Convolution Model when recovering the corrupted pixels: the mean average error of pixel values decreases 13.2%, and the PSNR value increases 2.62dB. Qualitative analysis shows that even in the worst case when the proposed model generates output images with MAE up to 4.30, its recoveries still possess good visual qualities. The proposed model can process a 480 × 768 image in 16.2ms on a computer equipped with 36 CPU cores and an RTX-3090 GPU. It usually takes at least 20 minutes for a human to recover such images. © 2023 ACM.

Recently, a-IGZO has advanced toward the next-generation electronics system because of its compatibility with complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and back-end-of-line (BOEL) based systems. A systematic electrical characterization of a-IGZO TFT related to reliability issues, such as positive bias temperature stress (PBTS) and negative bias temperature stress (NBTS), would entitle its integration into novel electronics systems. Unexpectedly, PBTS is characterized by the transition of positive Vth shift to negative Vth shift (ΔVth, the positive shift followed by the stress and temperature activated negative shift). This transition is attributed to charge trapping/trap-site generations and hydrogen migration to the active layer. The ΔVth shift mechanism depends on the temperature and voltage stress. On the other hand, a negative ΔVth shift has been observed during the NBTS operation and could be attributed to the hole trapping at the interface of GI/IGZO. An effective suppression of the gate leakage current has also been observed during reliability tests. Simulation results reveal a pronounced potential at the edges of source and drain regions, and considered the origin of hydrogen migration into the IGZO layer. Thermal image results also reveal the strong temperature/potential distribution at the edges of the source/drain regions, indorsing the simulation results. © 2020 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to human-like intelligence exhibited by computers, robots, or other machines. In popular use, artificial intelligence refers to the ability of a computer or machine to mimic the ability of the human mind to learn from examples and experiences, recognize objects, understand and respond to language, make decisions, solve problems, and combine these and other abilities to perform functions that humans might perform. Artificial intelligence requires experience and data to smarten up the technology. The most important things in making artificial intelligence are learning, reasoning, and self-correction. At the learning stage, AI gives machines the ability to learn tasks without requiring a defined programming language. Then, the reasoning stage is the stage where the reason AI is applied in a technology. The self-correction stage is the stage where the AI is refining itself from and learning from experience in order to minimize errors or problems that exist. Then, this matter is concerned with the parking lot to be discussed. Parking can be interpreted as public facilities available in agencies or offices that serve to store vehicles. Vehicles entering the parking area become tens or even thousands, because it requires a parking system and management area. Such arrangements are capable of parking procedures and even other support systems such as adequate parking facilities and infrastructure, and another function is to create and develop parking systems in general to provide safety and comfort. The methodology obtained from this problem is checking the research model to check and find out the comparison of vehicle user’s Parking System Security between cars or motorcycles, as well as the usual parking lots visited.
