Since an ever-increasing part of the population makes use of social media in their day-to-day lives, social media data has been analyzed in many different disciplines. While there is a great deal of literature on the challenges and difficulties involving specific data analysis methods, there hardly exists research on analyzing the appropriate techniques used to handle different types of data for the purpose of social media analytics. To address this gap, we conducted an extended and structured literature analysis through which we identified challenges addressed and solutions proposed. The literature search revealed that three types of data that were least used for social media analytics that includes Bluetooth, WIFI and mobile roaming data. In contrast, other types of data have received more attention. Based on the results of the literature search, we discuss the most important challenges for researchers and present potential solutions. The findings are used to extend an existing framework on social media analytics. The article provides benefits for researchers and practitioners who wish to collect and analysis social media data. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this article, we propose a tight boundary for the locating rainbow connection number (RVCL) of any pair graphs' edge-comb product (ECP), a significant contribution to this field. A graph's RVCL is defined as the smallest number of colors required to color each vertex so that every two different vertices are connected by a rainbow-vertex path (RVP), and each vertex possesses a unique rainbow code (partition dimension). We find that the ECP between a star graph with a star graph for a given edge orientation and direction has an RVCL as large as the upper bound. Also, we obtain a class of graphs whose ECP has their RVCL as large as the lower bound. Finally, we use the feature of twin sets to show several classes of graphs whose RVCL of the ECP lies the boundaries. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Information overload has been one of the challenges regarding information on the Internet. It is no longer a matter of information access, instead, the focus has shifted towards the quality of the retrieved data. Particularly in the news domain, multiple outlets report on the same news events but may differ in details. This work considers that different news outlets are more likely to differ in their writing styles and the choice of words, and proposes a method to extract sentences based on their key information by focusing on the shared synonyms in each sentence. Our method also attempts to reduce redundancy through hierarchical clustering and arrange selected sentences on the proposed orderBERT. The results show that the proposed unsupervised framework successfully improves the coverage and coherence, while also reducing the redundancy for a generated summary. Moreover, due to the process through which the dataset is obtained, a data refinement method is proposed to alleviate the problem of undesirable texts, which result from the process of automatic scraping. © 2021 ROCLING 2021 - Proceedings of the 33rd Conference on Computational Linguistics and Speech Processing. This work proposes a hardware architecture for fractional-pixel interpolation filter defined in the royalty-free AV1 video coding standard. Analysis conducted in this work shows that the AV1 Regular family of filters has the highest usage especially when considering high resolution videos. The proposed architecture implements the 15 interpolation filters of the AV1 Regular family and is capable to interpolate videos of up to 8K video resolution at 120 fps. The proposed architecture achieves the highest throughput compared to related works.

The physiological signs are a reliable source to identify stress states, and wearable sensors provide precise identification of physiological signs associated with the stress occurrence. The literature review shows that the use of physiological signs as a source for stress patterns identification is still a critical investigation subject. Few studies evaluate the effect of combining several different signals and the implications of the data acquisition procedures and details. This article’s objective is to investigate the possible integration of data obtained from heart rate variability, electrocardiographic, electrodermal activity, and electromyography to detect stress patterns, considering a new experimental protocol to data acquisition. The data acquisition involved the Trier Social Stress Test, wearable sensor monitoring, and complementary stress perception instruments, resulting in a publicly available dataset. This dataset was evaluated using different machine learning classifiers, considering the obtained annotated data and exploring different physiological features and their combinations. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper presents the foundations of a computational science of game design—a model of abstraction: the outcome of a situated design process that conceptualizes something in terms of something else for a specific purpose. The outcome of abstraction is modeled via an abstraction scheme, a step toward modeling the process of game design abstraction from a human-centered perspective. A scheme’s purpose is couched relative to a scheme’s properties, also defined herein;collectively, the properties represent the space of tradeoffs designers must navigate for engineering virtual worlds. This model’s analytical traction is evidenced by applying it to the design of pathfinding, a core behavior in artificial intelligence for games. More broadly, it is a foundation for shared progress because it affords directly comparing particular abstractions of concepts and phenomena across the gamut of research on intelligent systems in entertainment. This paper presents a new transistor placement method applied to the ASTRAN EDA tool, an open-source solution for the automatic design of complex digital gates. Although it currently reaches an optimized solution through a Threshold Accepting approach, ASTRAN does not guarantee a minimum-width placement. In this paper, a method based on Boolean satisfiability is proposed, ensuring an optimal solution for the transistor placement task through modeling the problem into a set of Boolean variables and clauses aware of four design rule constraints. Experiments comparing the proposed method and the current ASTRAN placement technique have shown reductions in the layout area. Furthermore, our method achieved a significant improvement regarding runtime, an essential feature for designing digital circuits and systems on-demand. © 2020 IEEE

The value and size of information exchanged through dark-web pages are remarkable. Recently Many researches showed values and interests in using machine-learning methods to extract security-related useful knowledge from those dark-web pages. In this scope, our goals in this research focus on evaluating best prediction models while analyzing traffic level data coming from the dark web. Results and analysis showed that feature selection played an important role when trying to identify the best models. Sometimes the right combination of features would increase the model's accuracy. For some feature set and classifier combinations, the Src Port and Dst Port both proved to be important features. When available, they were always selected over most other features. When absent, it resulted in many other features being selected to compensate for the information they provided. The Protocol feature was never selected as a feature, regardless of whether Src Port and Dst Port were available. © 2022 IEEE.

The growing software usage in modern society motivated several new development processes proposals aiming to increase productivity, reduce software delivery time, and improve the final product quality. In this context, while some software development processes emphasize source code production, such as the agile processes, others focus on modeling activities, such as the Model-Driven Development (MDD). Hybrid processes, which integrate different approaches into another one, aim to mitigate weaknesses and at the same time take advantage of the involved approaches strengths. This paper discusses the Agile and MDD approaches hybridization benefits concerning evolution and maintenance aspects through a controlled experiment. The influence of modeling tasks in development agility, as well as the consequences of model specification in product quality, are some of the issues discussed. The experiment results showed that the hybrid agile MDD process adopted conducted participants to produce a more correct and complete software release than the participants that developed the same release directly in code. So, we important indications that the hybrid process can assist developers during software evolution. We hope by sharing our results with the community, new replications could be performed towards news finds and generalizations. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Study on the identification and classification of fish is challenging and valuable because of its role in advancing the marine and agricultural fields. This research has benefits interms of monitoring fish populations and ecosystems in a particular area. Furthermore, this research helps monitor fish that are considered threatened or endangered so that it makes iteasier to map prohibited areas for fishing. This research aims to know performance of MobileNetV2 and VGG16 with parameter tuning process by identifying the value of batch size, epoch, learning rate, and optimizer for fish image dataset. The proposed research phase consists of five main stages, including experimental setup, dataset construction, dataset preprocessing, dataset training and modelling and evaluation. As the result, VGG16 obtained the highest accuracy value. For VGG16 without fine-tuning, the testing accuracy is 98.07%. For VGG16 with fine-tuning, the testing accuracy is 96.56%. © 2022 IEEE.
