This paper aims to study how a traditional woven fabric company implements its social media marketing strategic actions and investigate how social media customer experience can affect customer engagement. The study focuses on the communication tactic through utilization of social media content that holds the objective to leverage the brand expertise. This study uses a quantitative survey method among 105 Indonesian consumers' sample. The study offers a novel contribution to the research on enhancing social media customer engagement behavior through social media customer experience resulting from content about brand expertise. This paper suggests that social media customer experience tends to affect positively three social media customer engagement behaviors: liking, commenting, and sharing. The findings give some hints to traditional woven fabric retailers on how to drive social media customer engagement in order to drive their online visual merchandising' outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning (DL) has been proposed as a promising solution for network intrusion detection systems (NIDSs). While most DL-based NIDSs focus on high accuracy, they often overlook the critical issue of NIDSs response time for intrusion behavior. Recently some existing works presented time-aware evaluation metrics or design DL-based solutions for early intrusion detection, yet they primarily focus on the post-performance of NIDSs, without thoroughly investigating the impact of early intrusion detection on DL-based NIDSs due to the black-box nature of DL models. To address this research gap, we explore the impact of early detection on DL-based models' detection accuracy and input features. In our empirical study, we implement two different existing deep learning-based NIDSs methods and evaluate them on three published benchmark NIDSs datasets. Based on the experiment results on DL-based NIDSs detection accuracy, we observe that the early detection scenario will lead to the NIDSs model's detection accuracy decreasing up to 50%. To understand the reasons behind it, we adopt the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) to analyze the importance of features and we observe the varying feature distributions. The feature importance and feature distribution results show that early intrusion detection may lead to a degradation of feature quality. © 2023 IEEE.

The Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard introduced several novel encoding tools for intra frame prediction, increasing the encoder complexity when compared to previous standards. Among these novelties is the MIP tool, whose acceleration has not been tackled in the literature. Therefore, an efficient parallelization of MIP prediction targeting GPU platforms is now proposed. The presented technique makes use of alternative reference samples and computes the distortion in an approximate manner to expose and potentiate massive parallelism. Moreover, the adopted prediction scheduling and memory communication were tailored by considering the GPUs' architecture and memory hierarchy. When compared with a CPU execution, this work is capable to accelerate the MIP prediction up to 105 times at the cost of a negligible coding efficiency loss of 0.284% BD-BR. © 2023 European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO. Does trust even matter? Behavioral evidence for the disconnect between people’s subjective trust and decisions to use autonomous vehicles

One of the most prevalent findings in the autonomous transportation literature is the strong connection between human trust and intentions to use autonomous vehicles (AVs). Indeed, trust is widely regarded as an essential antecedent for the adoption of AVs, a finding based primarily on survey-based methodologies. However, psychological theory has long suggested that self-reported measures of intention are fraught with contradiction – people often say one thing and do another. We examine this potential dichotomy here by experimentally characterizing the relationship between self-reported trust and behavioral decisions to use AVs. An initial survey of 444 participants assessed trust in AVs, identifying three trust categories: high, moderate, and low. Results demonstrated that people trust human rideshare drivers more than AVs. A subsequent in-lab behavioral study with 72 of these participants involved choosing a ride in an AV or a human-driven vehicle. Contrary to prevailing assumptions, our results reveal a deep chasm between intention and behavior: 97 % of participants, regardless of trust rating, chose to ride in the AV. This finding indicates that situational context, curiosity, and immediate circumstances heavily influence decision-making, mediating (and even overshadowing) self-reported trust levels. Employing Cognitive Dissonance Theory, we offer potential explanations for why participants reconciled their initial distrust with their subsequent actions. Our findings challenge the narrative that self-reported trust determines AV adoption and highlight the importance of situational factors in shaping user behavior. Using these results, we offer new insights and guidance for deploying AVs, suggesting that controlled, low-risk environments could facilitate broader acceptance of this emerging technology, providing a practical solution to the AV trust problem.

Multipliers are pivotal in numerous applications, including digital signal processing, image processing, and video processing. Nonetheless, their operation substantially increases power consumption for these applications. Therefore, applying strategies that can reduce power in this arithmetic operator is paramount. This paper presents a novel approach to optimize arithmetic units, focusing on multiplier units, through the integration of the Radix- $2^{m}$ squarer unit (RSU) and 4–2 adder/subtractor compressor (AC). Compared to the state-of-the-art, the proposed multiplier unit, termed MRSU (multiplier unit RSU-based), offers significant area-and energy-savings. The synthesis results show remarkable improvements in the MRSU Dadda 4–2 architecture, which achieves 14.35× more energy-savings for 8 bits, 4.87× for 16 bits, and 2.22× for 32 bits compared to the multiplier unit automatically selected by the logic-synthesis tool. Furthermore, compared to the Booth multiplier with the Dadda compression tree, MRSU Dadda 4–2 exhibits 1.67× more energy-savings for 8 bits, 1.93× for 16 bits, and 1.95× for 32 bits.

This paper proposes a model for accurately exploring approximate adder compressors (AxAC) utilizing gates-free logic. As case studies, we explore energy-efficient architectures of approximate 3–2 (Ax3-2), 4–2 (Ax4-2), and 5–2 (Ax5-2) adder compressors (AC), focusing exclusively on gates-free in the critical path. This model for the accuracy analysis of AxACs is essential for estimating the optimal arrangements with repetition (AR) of inputs that are the way outputs for these compressors. For instance, the exact 4–2 AC has five inputs (A, B, C, D, and Cin) and three outputs (Cout, Carry, and Sum). Specifically, the Ax3-2 AC generates nine possible architectural-space gates-free AR, the Ax4-2 AC generates 125, and the Ax5-2 AC generates 2, 401 possible output AR. To estimate all output AR, we implemented the accuracy-exploration model in Python. After identifying the best AR, we created a Pareto front addressing the trade-offs between accuracy, energy, and area. The Ax3-2, Ax4-2, and Ax5-2 proposals demonstrate substantial energy and area efficiency improvements while maintaining high accuracy.

Rapid development of internet and technologies has contributed much to the quality of human's daily life. One of the breakthrough innovations is the implementation of the video streaming platform distributed over internet. With the resurgence of online video streaming platform, sharing video has never been easier. Therefore, users can easily share, comment, and like other video that different users uploaded. Brand awareness and customer trust could be significantly enhanced by means of short form videos as elements of online user experiences. Nowadays, there are many short form video streaming platforms on the internet like Instagram Reels and TikTok. This paper discusses the importance of user experience on Instagram Reels and TikTok. Every application needs to have some uniqueness so they can stand out and keep retention of their users. The User Experience Honeycomb was utilized in the form of quantitative research as a factor the user experience influencing on the user satisfaction. The major factors effecting user satisfaction were identified to help Instagram Reels and TikTok improve their user experience. © 2023 IEEE.

In the context of 5G communication, technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and supercomputers have been further developed, and artificial intelligence technology has also become one of the hot topics at present. In recent years, the image recognition technology of artificial intelligence has been pursued by most academic enthusiasts and has been rapidly developed. With the development of computer vision, a series of target detection algorithms have emerged in recent years. This paper classifies traffic signs based on the target detection algorithm of YOLOv5 and make use of the advantages of the accuracy and real-time performance of the YOLO algorithm. To restore the real traffic scene, different shooting angles and different shooting locations are prepared as data sets. Finally, to realize the detection and recognition of traffic signs and optimize the algorithm to improve the recognition rate. © 2023 IEEE.

Approximate computing (AxC) offers opportunities to enhance computing efficiency by exploiting inherent error resilience. This study examines the security implications of AxC, focusing on adders, where Hardware Trojan Horses (HTH) present significant risks. We propose a framework to inject HTH into approximate adders (AxAs), specifically the Approximate Parallel Prefix Adder (AxPPA), and assess their impact. The framework, implemented in MATLAB (code available at ***/MorganaMacedo/AxPPA_HTH), evaluates HTH injection into AxAs, analyzing error metrics (SSIM, NCC, MSE, MAE, and error-probability) and conducting logic-synthesis (LS) analysis to detect physical anomalies indicative of HTH presence. Our results demonstrate AxPPA’s resilience against HTH injection, with detection thresholds varying with approximation bit size. LS analysis shows AxPPA effectively detects HTHs across all bit approximations, outperforming LOA, particularly at K=16. AxPPA also achieves superior energy savings of 31.95% compared to LOA and notable area savings, highlighting its efficacy in HTH detection and performance optimization.

This work investigates the design of approximate arithmetic operator units used in the VLSI modular reduction (AxMOD) architecture. The AxMOD architecture herein proposed explores the following arithmetic operators: i) two approximate iterative-based fixed-point and Goldschmidt (GLD) dividers, ii) five approximate adders (AxA): COPY adder, error-tolerant adder (ETA), lower-part OR adder (LOA), truncation (Trunc), and approximate parallel prefix adder (AxPPA), and iii) five approximate multipliers of approximate radix-4 multiplier units (AxRMU), dynamic range unbiased multiplier (DRUM), rounding-based approximate (RoBA), truncated multiplier (Trunc), and the leading one-bit based approximate (LoBA). Our demonstration of AxMOD’s efficiency using approximate arithmetic operators from the Pareto-optimal front illustrates the area and power-quality trade-off. Our results reveal that in fixed-point arithmetic, AxRMU with K = 16 and Trunc adder with K = 8 deliver energy savings of up to 4.14× compared to the state-of-the-art.
