Drowsiness is one of the major causes of accidents in driving and other tasks. Therefore, finding effective ways to prevent drowsiness and to maintain their alert state is an important subject of study in human-machine systems such as autonomous driving. In this paper, we show the potential to use a social robot to prevent participants from becoming drowsy and to keep them alert. Twenty-five participants were asked to perform Sustained Attention to Response Tasks (SART) and report their subjective drowsiness levels. When the system detected drowsiness from the task reaction time or the self-reports, one of the following awakening alarms was triggered: (1) sound and the robot’s movement (SRM), (2) sound from (motionless) robot (SR), (3) sound only (no robot present) (SO), or (4) no stimulus (NS), as a control. The participants’ task performance and self-reported drowsiness were continuously recorded to evaluate the effectiveness of each alarm condition. The experimental results showed a significant difference in the self-reported scores of drowsiness between the SRM and SR conditions and the NS condition, while significance was not found between the SO and NS conditions. In addition, the response time was shorter for SRM. The difference between SR and SO is only the presence of the social robot, so these results indicate that the presence of the social robot increases the participants’ alertness level.

Continuous, easy-to-implement, accurate inference of intended joint angles is important for effectively controlling powered prosthetic devices that can improve the lives and capabilities of upper-limb amputees. Estimation of intended joint angles is difficult because conventional biosignals are not directly related to the intended angle motion. In previous work, we began to address this issue by confirming that both transradial amputees and intact subjects, the measured deformation of the muscle bulge on the skin surface change according to the intended wrist joint angle. This paper presents a continuous prosthesis wrist joint control method using this deformation signal. We here verify the effectiveness of the distribution of the muscle bulge for accurate and stable wrist joint angle control in real time. The wrist joint angles were calculated in real time from a muscle viscoelastic model using the previously determined algorithm. We compared the error between measured and estimated angles with a conventional method, the Voigt model, and the KelvinVoigt model. Experimental results obtained for three intact people over three trials of wrist movement tasks gave the accuracy and stability of 7.96±6.16° when using the Voigt model;this is a similar performance compared to related work using a surface electromyogram. A method for continuously controlling the wrist joint angle for a prosthesis using the distribution of the muscle bulge was thus successfully established.

In order to have a competitive software industry, it is essential to adopt standards and reference models of software processes quality. However, despite the growing adoption of standards and models, the number of organizations that adopt these is a small portion of the total population of software organizations. This paper presents a tool to support the implementation of decision analysis and resolution process in adherence to CMMI-DEV model. This tool aims to assist software organizations in the implementation of the CMMI-DEV model. We expect that this tool be more easily adopted by software organizations because it is based on models and standards largely accepted. Furthermore, this tool adopts free technologies (non-proprietary) in order to reduce costs.

Special need is a person who need assistance for their disabilities which include medical, physical, mental or psychological such as person with autism, down syndrome, dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, blindness, deafness, epilepsy, chronic asthma and so on. In this proposed research idea about intelligent E-commerce for special needs, we limited to four types of difficulties such as hearing difficulty, vision difficulty, language difficulty, and learning difficulty. In this paper, we interest in those special needs persons who can use e-commerce and how to model a system that can help them to joy and easy to join with e-commerce. For some, this intelligent e-commerce is not only for shopping only but will become part of their healing for special needs in order to engage with daily human activities and increase their daily confidence in life. This paper also a preliminary investigation that can be used for Ph.D. or Doctoral research degree who is interested in building e-commerce framework for people with a special need or disability.

The development of game technology has opened up new possibilities in learning methods through educational games. However, in Indonesia, the application of this concept is lacking. One lesson that can benefit from educational games is Indonesian History in class X, with a focus on history in the pre-literacy period. This study aims to create a puzzle-adventure type of digital game that can help educate students about the pre-literacy period, developed with Unity, and uses WebGL as a target device while referring to Indonesia's revised 2013 national curriculum. The result of this research is the creation of a digital game that can be played on average of 254.36 seconds, with potential for educational use. A survey result shows that many of the ancient objects and some of the ages are well-recognized. However, the survey also shows many of the gameplay aspects, such as UI, gameplay features, and adventure elements, need improvements.

The desire to share and unite remote digital assets motivated the development of the classical internet, the enabler of the entire 21st century economy and our modern way of life. As we enter the quantum era, it is to be expected there will be a similar demand for networking quantum assets, motivating a global quantum internet for bringing together the world's quantum resources, leveraging off their exponential trajectory in capability. We present models for quantum networking, how they might be applied in the future, and the implications they will have. Socially, economically, politically and geostrategically, the upcoming era of quantum supremacy will be as significant for the 21st century as the transistor was for the 20th. The inherently different scaling in the computational power of quantum computers fundamentally changes the dynamics of how they will operate in the future. Given their high expected initial cost, a client/server model for outsourcing computation will be essential for enabling the accessibility and proliferation of this technology, and ensuring its economic viability. We therefore anticipate the emergence of cloud quantum computing, a model for outsourcing quantum computations to the network. We argue that economic efficiency will mandate that all future quantum computers be united into a single global virtual quantum computer, offering exponentially more power to all network participants than if they were to keep their resources to themselves. This model for the allocation of computational resources is uniquely quantum, with no classical analogue, completely altering the economic landscape for the future of computation. Given the sensitivity of much of the data to which future quantum computers are going to foreseeably be applied, protocols for encrypted quantum computation will be essential - the outsourcing of computations that neither an eavesdropper nor even the server performing the computation can spy upon. This paper presents a new code compression method where we use different dictionaries, all of them are based in traditional Huffman algorithm. Our method reduces code size by up to 34.5% (including all extra costs) and presents an improvement of almost 7% over the traditional Huffman method. We performed simulations using Simple Scalar and analyzes using the applications from benchmark MiBench and use the embedded processor ARM.

In the last few years, live pay-TV system via Internet has come to be established with the development of broadband network. To develop such a system, a mechanism for content protection is required. In this paper, a new architecture integrating fingerprint with cryptosystem is proposed to protect contents from unauthorized access and illegal redistribution. We describe a scheme integrating anti-collusion code and home page public-key cryptosystem. The proposed scheme is shown feasible and realistic for implementing with respect to computation/communication cost.

The environmental indicators provide significant information in order to describe the state of a phenomenon, environment or area [1]. This paper addresses the indicators present in the air and their relationship in the accommodation and transmission of viruses, as well as how these environmental indicators can lead to health problems. Therefore, the main goal of this work is to review the scientific contributions in the literature in order to determine and select the potential environmental indicators present in indoor environments which have an impact on the health of people who work and live within these spaces. For this purpose, we carried out a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) related to environmental monitoring, COVID-19, Internet of things, air pollution and environmental indicators within indoor spaces. This SLR allowed us to identify indicators that according to their level of presence can represent a high risk for people’s health. Therefore, the process of planning, conducting and reporting the Systematic Literature Review enabled us not only to identify some environmental indicators, but also their corresponding monitoring advantages and disadvantages, and multiple perspectives and approaches of each contribution in the literature. Further on, this study will be the basis for the proposal of an automatic and intelligent platform based on Internet of Things for monitoring indoor environments in order to detect high risk levels for the contamination of contagious diseases.
