Fil-Cad: A Fault Detection Method for Iiot Based on Federated Incremental Learning with Class Accuracy Distillation

Fault detection is a research topic attracting much attention in IIoT. However, the continuous accumulation and growth of IIoT data leads to the catastrophic forgetting problem in the fault detection model and data heterogeneity, which creates a bottleneck for the performance and generalization of federated learning in fault detection. To improve the fault detection performance of federated learning models in data incremental scenarios, we propose a federatedincremental-learning-based fault detection method for IIoT, namely FIL-CAD. Firstly, comparing the knowledge distillation, the accuracies of different data classes in the global and local models are chosen as the model lightweight learning features, and the loss function is weighted. Secondly, we introduce the concept of data learning depth. It computes different model weights in the aggregation based on their degrees of data sample learning and model training participation and obtains the global model through weighted aggregation. Additionally, FIL-CAD supports the combination of differential privacy to protect data privacy. The proposed method is compared with four benchmark methods on four datasets, which include CWRU and MFPT bearing datasets. Then, the experimental results show that FIL-CAD performs optimally in accuracy and F1-Score, and the average accuracy is improved by 1.32%-18.52%, demonstrating the superiority of FIL-CAD. © 2024, The Authors. data-driven landscape across finance, government, and healthcare, the continuous generation of information demands robust solutions for secure storage, efficient dissemination, and fine-grained access control. Blockchain technology emerges as a significant tool, offering decentralized storage while upholding the tenets of data security and accessibility. However, on-chain and off-chain strategies are still confronted with issues such as untrusted off-chain data storage, absence of data ownership, limited access control policy for clients, and a deficiency in data privacy and auditability. To solve these challenges, we propose a permissioned blockchain-based privacy-preserving fine-grained access control on-chain and off-chain system, namely FACOS. We applied three fine-grained access control solutions and comprehensively analyzed them in different aspects, which provides an intuitive perspective for system designers and clients to choose the appropriate access control method for their systems. Compared to similar work that only stores encrypted data in centralized or non-fault-tolerant IPFS systems, we enhanced off-chain data storage security and robustness by utilizing a highly efficient and secure asynchronous Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) protocol in the off-chain environment. As each of the clients needs to be verified and authorized before accessing the data, we involved the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-based solution to verify the credentials of clients. Additionally, our evaluation results demonstrated that our system1 offers better scalability and practicality than other state-of-the-art designs. We deployed our system on Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud and conducted multiple evaluations. The results indicate that it takes about 2.79 seconds for a client to execute the protocol for uploading and about 0.96 seconds for downloading. Compared to other decentralized systems, our system exhibits efficient latency for both download and upload operations.

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method that uses facial video to predict changes in blood volume, enabling physiological metrics measurement. Traditional rPPG models often struggle with poor generalization capacity in unseen domains. Current solutions to this problem is to improve its generalization in the target domain through Domain Generalization (DG) or Domain Adaptation (DA). However, both traditional methods require access to both source domain data and target domain data, which cannot be implemented in scenarios with limited access to source data, and another issue is the privacy of accessing source domain data. In this paper, we propose the first Source-free Domain Adaptation benchmark for rPPG measurement (SFDA-rPPG), which overcomes these limitations by enabling effective domain adaptation without access to source domain data. Our framework incorporates a Three-Branch Spatio-Temporal Consistency Network (TSTC-Net) to enhance feature consistency across domains. Furthermore, we propose a new rPPG distribution alignment loss based on the Frequency-domain Wasserstein Distance (FWD), which leverages optimal transport to align power spectrum distributions across domains effectively and further enforces the alignment of the three branches. Extensive cross-domain experiments and ablation studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method in source-free domain adaptation settings. Our findings highlight the significant contribution of the proposed FWD loss for distributional alignment, providing a valuable reference for future research and applications. High-resolution point clouds (HRPCD) anomaly detection (AD) plays a critical role in precision machining and high-end equipment manufacturing. Despite considerable 3D-AD methods that have been proposed recently, they still cannot meet the requirements of the HRPCD-AD task. There are several challenges: i) It is difficult to directly capture HRPCD information due to large amounts of points at the sample level;ii) The advanced transformer-based methods usually obtain anisotropic features, leading to degradation of the representation;iii) The proportion of abnormal areas is very small, which makes it difficult to characterize. To address these challenges, we propose a novel group-level feature-based network, called Group3AD, which has a significantly efficient representation ability. First, we design an Intercluster Uniformity Network (IUN) to present the mapping of different groups in the feature space as several clusters, and obtain a more uniform distribution between clusters representing different parts of the point clouds in the feature space. Then, an Intracluster Alignment Network (IAN) is designed to encourage groups within the cluster to be distributed tightly in the feature space. In addition, we propose an Adaptive Group-Center Selection (AGCS) based on geometric information to improve the pixel density of potential anomalous regions during inference. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of our proposed Group3AD, which surpasses Reg3D-AD by the margin of 5% in terms of object-level AUROC on Real3D-AD. Speech enhancement plays an essential role in various applications, and the integration of visual information has been demonstrated to bring substantial advantages. However, the majority of current research concentrates on the examination of facial and lip movements, which can be compromised or entirely inaccessible in scenarios where occlusions occur or when the camera view is distant. Whereas contextual visual cues from the surrounding environment have been overlooked: for example, when we see a dog bark, our brain has the innate ability to discern and filter out the barking noise. To this end, in this paper, we introduce a novel task, i.e. Scene-aware AudioVisual Speech Enhancement (SAV-SE). To our best knowledge, this is the first proposal to use rich contextual information from synchronized video as auxiliary cues to indicate the type of noise, which eventually improves the speech enhancement performance. Specifically, we propose the VC-S2E method, which incorporates the Conformer and Mamba modules for their complementary strengths. Extensive experiments are conducted on public MUSIC, AVSpeech and AudioSet datasets, where the results demonstrate the superiority of VC-S2E over other competitive methods. Sleep staging is the basis of sleep quality assessment. In the process of scoring each sleep stage, some automatic sleep staging models often fail to effectively capture the more accurate long-range correlation coupling between the input sleep EEG signals and the output sleep stage, which leads to the extracted features cannot effectively distinguish the different sleep stage. In order to alleviate the long-term time series problem of sleep EEG signals and learn the discriminative features of each sleep stage in sleep EEG signals, we propose an end-to-end automatic sleep stage classification method based on raw single-channel sleep EEG signals, which can improve the attention to the discriminative features of each sleep stage. In the construction of the model, in order to learn the source domain information of the key part of the sleep EEG signal, SE-Block is added to Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to highlight the time-frequency domain features related to the sleep stage. Meanwhile, the attention mechanism is added to the decoding part of Bidirectional Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) to enhance the long-term memory ability of Bi-GRU and learn the conversion rules between sleep stages. To validate the accuracy and stability of the model, the Fpz-Cz channel and Pz-Oz channel EEG signals in the Sleep-EDF sleep dataset are used for 10-fold cross-validation. The classification accuracies obtained are 88.48% and 87.56%, respectively. The results show that our model has stronger ability to extract discriminative features, better representation ability, more stable performance and relatively simple structure. © 2023, The Authors. Realizing Generalized Zero-Shot Learning (GZSL) based on large models is emerging as a prevailing trend. However, most existing methods merely regard large models as black boxes, solely leveraging the features output by the final layer while disregarding potential performance enhancements from other layers. Indeed, numerous researchers have visually depicted variations in the features learned across different layers of neural networks. Motivated by this observation, we propose a Vision Transformer (ViT)-based GZSL method named Depth-Aware Multi-Modal ViT (DAM2ViT), which exploits multi-level features of ViT. DAM2ViT incorporates a multi-modal interaction block to align semantic information of categories across multiple layers, thereby augmenting the model’s capacity to learn associations between visual and semantic spaces. Extensive experiments conducted on three benchmark datasets (i.e., CUB, SUN, AWA2) have showcased that DAM2ViT achieves competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) is a well-known metric for evaluating instance-level long-tail learning problems. In the past two decades, many AUC optimization methods have been proposed to improve model performance under long-tail distributions. In this paper, we explore AUC optimization methods in the context of pixel-level long-tail semantic segmentation, a much more complicated scenario. This task introduces two major challenges for AUC optimization techniques. On one hand, AUC optimization in a pixel-level task involves complex coupling across loss terms, with structured inner-image and pairwise inter-image dependencies, complicating theoretical analysis. On the other hand, we find that mini-batch estimation of AUC loss in this case requires a larger batch size, resulting in an unaffordable space complexity. To address these issues, we develop a pixel-level AUC loss function and conduct a dependency-graph-based theoretical analysis of the algorithm’s generalization ability. Additionally, we design a Tail-Classes Memory Bank (T-Memory Bank) to manage the significant memory demand. In modern very large-scale integration (VLSI) design, the solution quality of the bus routing is a crucial factor that determines the timing and power of circuit, and finally affects the performance and yield of chips. Taking bus deviation as the main optimization objective, an effective multi-strategy bus deviation-driven layer assignment algorithm is proposed to solve the timing-matching problem of bus routing. First, a net priority determination method that integrates multiple features is presented to determine the layer assignment order, thus obtaining a routing sequence which can weigh the wirelength and bus deviation well. Second, an effective single net layer assignment algorithm is proposed to assign each net based on dynamic programming, thus reducing the number of vias. Third, a layer shifting strategy based on the bus lookup table is designed to effectively balance total wirelength and bus deviation by sacrificing a certain number of vias. Experimental results, compared to existing work, show that the proposed algorithm can achieve significant optimization on the bus deviation and total wirelength, and finally obtain the best results in terms of the bus deviation, which is the most important optimization objective for bus routing.
