While there is an extensive and established history of research that demonstrates the unfortunate capacity of exam room computing and electronic health records (EHRs) to negatively impact provider-patient communication and interaction, recent trends in exam room computing are promising in that there may be an opportunity for the EHR to improve patient engagement. The logical evolution of this research is to flip the narrative to understand strategies for using exam room computing as a mediator or facilitator of provider-patient communication and interaction, rather than simply establishing ways to mitigate the documented barriers. Panelists will present and discuss their latest research and experiences that may contribute to the evolution of using exam room computing as a tool to enhance provider-patient communication and interaction. We will also discuss how a thoughtful exam room design with patient-centered exam room computing technologies and practices may positively impact specific human factors, safety, and bias outcomes. © 2021 by Human Factors and Ergonoics Society. The Alternating Current Optimal Power Flow (AC OPF) is crucial for power system analysis, yet existing algorithms face challenges in meeting the diverse requirements of practical applications. This paper presents a Pyramidal Relaxation (PR) formulation of the Branch Flow Model (BFM) for AC OPF, where surface conical constraints are approximated through a union of tetrahedrons in a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) relaxation. To reduce problem size and to enhance computational efficiency, we proposed a Dynamic Pyramidal Relaxation (DPR) method, where the cuts (inner approximation and outer approximation) are adaptively added. In practice, the DPR method is embedded into a MILP commercial solver based on the branch-and-cut framework. Case studies in different test systems validate the effectiveness in terms of feasibility, accuracy, and efficiency of our proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) are promising for large-scale energy storage due to their long life and environmental benefits. Accurate temperature prediction is key to optimizing VRFB performance and longevity. This study compares the performance of four machine learning models, i.e., 1D CNN, Particle Swarm Optimization - Support Vector Regressor (PSO-SVR), Decision Tree (DT), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), using a publicly available dataset. Results show that KNN achieves the best results with test Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.0424 (average) and test R2 of 0.9746 (average), demonstrating strong predictive accuracy. 1D CNN, however, shows poor generalization. These findings suggest that non-parametric models like KNN and DT are highly effective for VRFB temperature prediction. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Numerous studies have shown that label noise can lead to poor generalization performance, negatively affecting classification accuracy. Therefore, understanding the effectiveness of classifiers trained using deep neural networks in the presence of noisy labels is of considerable practical significance. In this paper, we focus on the error bounds of excess risks for classification problems with noisy labels within deep learning frameworks. We begin by exploring loss functions with noise-tolerant properties, ensuring that the empirical minimizer on noisy data aligns with that on the true data. Next, we estimate the error bounds of the excess risks, expressed as a sum of statistical error and approximation error. We estimate the statistical error on a dependent (mixing) sequence, bounding it with the help of the associated independent block sequence. For the approximation error, we first express the classifiers as the composition of the softmax function and a continuous function from [0, 1]d to RK. The main task is then to estimate the approximation error for the continuous function from [0, 1]d to RK. In recent years, research has illuminated the potency of implicit data processing in enhancing user preferences. Nevertheless, barriers remain in breaking through the constraints of implicit information. This study aims to bridge this gap by firstly constructing a triangular stable node network model, tailored to manage implicit information with precision. Recognizing the challenge of pinpointing novel structures within large-scale graphs, we propose SLTSNN-a triangular stable node network based on self-supervised learning for personalized prediction. SLTSNN innovates by maximizing mutual information between graph-level and patch-level representations, while augmenting graph representations through extended enhanced representations. Additionally, it incorporates triangular data associations and introduces a triangular allocation attention network, which emphasizes strongly correlated preference features among similar users. Furthermore, SLTSNN employs contrastive learning to maximize mutual information between graph vectors and hidden representations, distinguishing between high-order global and local representations. The model's effectiveness in enhancing user preferences and capturing new graph structures is evidenced by its performance on hit rate and normalized discounted cumulative gain metrics across three datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

Detection and prediction of infectious disease is a very challenging task due to the lack of substantial evidence of the disease and its behaviours. The effective infection prevention mechanisms through IoT sensors have been explored in the various researches in recent times. Various researchers use the Internet of Things (IoT) to collect real-time sensory information data for the detection and prediction of Infectious Disease. A group of sensors distributed in the workplace to detect or gathered data related to Infectious Disease is one of the major explorations of this paper. Sensors could collect the real-time data gathered in the cloud storage unit and further the user has to be intimated with the real scenario of data suggested. Behind this filtering and analytics process to execute on the gathered data and extract the data in form of user information. This paper explores the Flu, COVID-19, Zika, and H1N1, especially focus on COVID-19 as the recent pandemic. The technique as the Remote Excess of Experts thought IoT data is also the research investigation of this paper. © 2021 IEEE.

Group recommendation involves comprehensively considering various aspects, including members and items, to predict the overall interests of a group and recommend suitable items through a recommendation system. With the rapid evolution of the Internet, online group activities have become increasingly prevalent, making group recommendation a highly discussed topic within the realm of recommendation systems. However, current research in group recommendation still confronts the following challenges. Firstly, a predominant portion of group recommendation research focuses solely on aggregating group-level information, neglecting the valuable contribution of higher-order member-level insights to group recommendation. Moreover, some aggregation strategies overly prioritize fairness, thereby disregarding common real-world patterns. Secondly, previous studies have primarily relied on aggregating individual member interests to establish group preferences, lacking a holistic consideration of group dynamics. To tackle these challenges, this study introduces an innovative approach by implementing multi-channel hypergraph convolution within the member perspective. This approach aims to effectively extract higher-order insights from members by utilizing a member information enhancement module. By establishing group interconnections based on similarity and employing an adaptive fusion network to amalgamate multiple viewpoints, a final representation is derived. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed model surpasses baseline models by 3% to 4% in terms of hit rate and accuracy, validating the efficacy of our approach. © 2023 IEEE.

The social network-based recommendation model use social network information to mitigate data sparsity issues and improve the accuracy of recommendation models. However, In most social network-based recommendation algorithms, the social neighbors' contributions are difficult to distinguish from the central user's, neglecting hidden correlations in social infor-mation. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents a graph-based contrastive learning framework for social-enhanced recommendation (SoGCLR) that utilizes implicit social information captured by a new social relation attention mechanism, en-rich user representations, and improve model robustness through graph-based contrastive learning. Specifically, the paper captures the degree of contribution of each neighbor in the social graph to the central user through a social relation attention layer, thus obtaining hidden correlations in social information, and further integrates this with user information in the user-item interaction graph to enrich user representations. In addition, the paper incorporates graph-based contrastive learning into the recommendation task using cross-layer contrastive learning, calculating contrastive loss and mapping nodes with similar but different exposure rates to nearby regions to mitigate exposure bias issues. Results from Ciao and Epinions demonstrate that SoGCLR reduces RMSE and MAE by 1.33% to 1.84% compared with baseline models. © 2023 IEEE.

In the modern era of a growing population,it is arduous for humans to monitor every aspect of sports,events occurring around us,and scenarios or *** recognition of different types of sports and events has increasingly incorporated the use of machine learning and artificial *** research focuses on detecting and recognizing events in sequential photos characterized by several factors,including the size,location,and position of people’s body parts in those pictures,and the influence around those *** approaches utilized,here are feature descriptors such as MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions),SIFT(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform),and DOF(degree of freedom)between the joint points are applied to the skeleton ***,for the same purposes,other features such as BRISK(Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints),ORB(Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF),and HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradients)are applied on full body or *** integration of these techniques increases the discriminative nature of characteristics retrieved in the identification process of the event,hence improving the efficiency and reliability of the entire *** extracted features are passed to the early fusion and DBscan for feature fusion and *** deep belief,network is employed for *** results demonstrate a separate experiment’s detection average recognition rate of 87%in the HMDB51 video database and 89%in the YouTube database,showing a better perspective than the current methods in sports and event identification.

We study the addition of shape constraints (SC) and their consideration during the parameter identification step of symbolic regression (SR). SC serve as a means to introduce prior knowledge about the shape of the otherwise unknown model function into SR. Unlike previous works that have explored SC in SR, we propose minimizing SC violations during parameter identification using gradient-based numerical optimization. We test three algorithm variants to evaluate their performance in identifying three symbolic expressions from synthetically generated data sets. This paper examines two benchmark scenarios: one with varying noise levels and another with reduced amounts of training data. The results indicate that incorporating SC into the expression search is particularly beneficial when data is scarce. Compared to using SC only in the selection process, our approach of minimizing violations during parameter identification shows a statistically significant benefit in some of our test cases, without being significantly worse in any instance. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.
