The Internet of Moving Things(IoMT)takes a step further with respect to traditional static IoT *** this line,the integration of new eco-friendly mobility devices such as scooters or bicycles within the Cooperative-Intelligent Transportation Systems(C-ITS)and smart city ecosystems is crucial to provide novel *** this end,a range of communication technologies is available,such as cellular,vehicular WiFi or Low-Power Wide-Area Network(LPWAN);however,none of them can fully cover energy consumption and Quality of Service(QoS)***,we propose a Decision Support System(DSS),based on supervised Machine Learning(ML)classification,for selecting the most adequate transmission interface to send a certain message in a multi-Radio Access technology(RAT)set *** ML algorithms have been explored taking into account computing and energy constraints of IoMT enddevices and traffic ***,a real implementation of a decision tree-based DSS for micro-controller units is presented and *** attained results demonstrate the validity of the proposal,saving energy in communication tasks as well as satisfying QoS requirements of certain urgent *** footprint of the real implementation on an Arduino Uno is 444 bytes and it can be executed in around 50µs.

Wireless sensor network(WSN)plays a vital part in real time tracking and data collection *** incorporates a set of numerous sensor nodes(SNs)commonly utilized to observe the target *** SNs operate using an inbuilt battery and it is not easier to replace or charge ***,proper utilization of available energy in the SNs is essential to prolong the lifetime of the *** this study,an effective Type-II Fuzzy Logic with Butterfly Optimization Based Route Selection(TFL-BOARS)has been developed for clustered *** TFL-BOARS technique intends to optimally select the cluster heads(CHs)and routes in the clustered ***,the TFL-BOARS technique incorporates Type-II Fuzzy Logic(T2FL)technique with distinct input parameters namely residual energy(RE),link quality(LKQ),trust level(TRL),inter-cluster distance(ICD)and node degree(NDE)to select CHs and construct ***,the butterfly optimization algorithm based route selection(BOARS)technique is derived to select optimal set of routes in the *** addition,the BOARS technique has computed afitness function using three parameters such as communication cost,distance and *** order to demonstrate the improved energy effectiveness and prolonged lifetime of the WSN,a wide-ranging simulation analysis was implemented and the experimental results reported the supremacy of the TFL-BOARS technique.

In an era where digital misinformation poses a severe challenge to societal trust, identifying fake news is imperative. This study employs a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network to discern misinformation within a dataset of approximately 79,000 labeled news texts. Our LSTM model benefits from its aptitude for processing sequential data, crucial for understanding textual context. We evaluate our model's proficiency through accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, key metrics reflecting its classification capability. The model exhibits robust performance with a test accuracy of 94.09%, precision of 91.57%, recall of 95.45%, and an F1 score of 93.47%. These results underscore the potential of LSTM networks in automating fake news detection, which could significantly support the integrity of information consumption in the digital realm.

Quantum Compilation Toolkit for Rydberg Atom Arrays with Implications for Problem Hardness and Quantum Speedups

We propose and implement a comprehensive quantum compilation toolkit for solving the maximum independent set (MIS) problem on quantum hardware based on Rydberg atom arrays. Our end-to-end pipeline involves three core components to efficiently map generic MIS instances onto Rydberg arrays with unit-disk connectivity, with modules for graph reduction, hardware compatibility checks, and graph embedding. The first module (reducer) provides hardware-agnostic and deterministic reduction logic that iteratively reduces the problem size via lazy clique removals. We find that real-world networks can typically be reduced by orders of magnitude on sub-second time scales, thus significantly cutting down the eventual load for quantum devices. Moreover, we show that reduction techniques may be an important tool in the ongoing search for potential quantum speedups, given their ability to identify hard problem instances. In particular, for Rydberg-native MIS instances, we observe signatures of an easy-hard-easy transition and quantify a critical degree indicating the onset of a hard problem regime. The second module (compatibility checker) implements a hardware compatibility checker that quickly determines whether or not a given input graph may be compatible with the restrictions imposed by Rydberg quantum hardware. The third module (embedder) describes hardware-efficient graph embedding routines to generate (approximate) encodings with controllable overhead and optimized ancilla placements. We exemplify our pipeline with experiments run on the QuEra Aquila device available on Amazon Braket. Multi-fidelity Bayesian Optimisation of Syngas Fermentation Simulators

A Bayesian optimization approach for maximizing the gas conversion rate in an industrial-scale bioreactor for syngas fermentation is presented. We have access to a high-fidelity, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) reactor model and a low-fidelity ideal-mixing-based reactor model. The goal is to maximize the gas conversion rate, with respect to the input variables (e.g., pressure, biomass concentration, gas flow rate). Due to the high cost of the CFD reactor model, a multi-fidelity Bayesian optimization algorithm is adopted to solve the optimization problem using both high and low fidelities. We first describe the problem in the context of syngas fermentation followed by our approach to solving simulator optimization using multiple fidelities. We discuss concerns regarding significant differences in fidelity cost and their impact on fidelity sampling and conclude with a discussion on the integration of real-world fermentation data. Virtualization is an old technology that facilitates launching a computer infrastructure on another computer infrastructure. Very recently a containerized approach arrived in the computing world. Among most container vendors, Docker is the most trending and highly used container classification. To interact, orchestrate, govern and manage any Docker platform, a command-line-oriented approach was used. Portainer is a container-oriented approach, which provides the capability to orchestrate, govern and manage the whole Docker farm. Still, there is no such kind of evaluations for Portainer oriented orchestrations for Docker farms. This research study aims to evaluate Portainer oriented approaches to orchestrate Docker farms than traditional Docker command line approaches. The command-line-based approach brings plenty of complexity for the users to make interactions with Docker. Therefore, according to the observed facilities and capacities of the Portainer, Portainer is with very less overhead to the host infrastructure. As well interactive graphical user interfaces, easy accessibility, high platform security integration, and versatile monitoring features are beneficial to the end-users. © 2022 IEEE.

Recent experiments on Cooper pair splitters using superconductor-quantum dot hybrids have embarked on creating entanglement in the solid-state, by engineering the sub-gap processes in the superconducting region. Using the thermoelectric Cooper pair splitter setup [Nat. Comm., 12, 21, (2021)] as a prototype, we present a comprehensive analysis of the fundamental components of the observed transport signal, aiming to critically clarify the operating regimes and confirm the nonlocal and nonclassical nature of correlations arising from crossed Andreev processes. By making a nexus with quantum discord, we identify operating points of nonlocal quantum correlations in the CPS device—information that cannot be extracted from the transport signal alone. A notable consequence of our analysis is the finding that contact-induced level broadening of the quantum dot’s discrete energy spectrum, along with its hybridization with the superconducting segment, can lead to shifted resonances in the crossed Andreev process as well as a parity reversal in the thermoelectric current. Our work thereby provides detailed insights into the gate voltage control of the quantum correlations in superconducting-hybrid Cooper pair splitters, revealing new avenues for harnessing quantum correlations in solid-state systems. © 2024, CC BY.

Containerization is the modern trending concept for net-centric software application deployments other than the traditional virtualization. Among many container vendors, Docker is the most popular one in the industry. Launching all kinds of software based services and software applications on the Docker farm, is available. Apache and Nginx are the most highly used web servers in the practitioner. This research study aims to evaluate Apache and Nginx web server performances on the Docker platform. By using two separate Docker containers, the experimental study was conducted. Basically, six web server performance criteria were evaluated: requests per second, failed requests, availability, failed transactions, response time and transaction rate. For the requests per second measurement, Apache web server was presented with higher features than Nginx web server on the Docker farm with default configurations. But other evaluation measurements were approximately the same values for both servers. Both web servers with 100% availability and according to the all evaluated criteria, both Apache and Nginx web servers are recommended to use with default configurations on the Docker farms. © 2022 IEEE.

With the rapid development of information technology, artificial intelligence models have become the core asset of tech giants, highlighting the importance of copyright protection. Black-box watermarking has gained attention due to its ability to verify the legality of models remotely without relying on internal model information. The challenges lie in embedding and verifying watermarks without accessing internal model parameters, while ensuring the robustness and stealth of the watermark. This paper focuses on discussing effective ways to protect the copyright of black-box watermarking models and detect and prevent unauthorized user behavior that infringes on model ownership. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-ownership verification framework based on invisible watermark and hypothesis testing, which mainly consists of two parts: watermark generation and copyright verification. The watermark generation uses a dynamic watermarking method to generate invisible backdoor watermark and verifies copyright through hypothesis testing. This framework has high assurance and effectiveness under various models of CIFAR-10 and MNIST datasets and shows strong robustness in VGG and Resnet model pruning attacks. This research provides new ideas and methods for the protection of model copyrights in deep neural networks.

Nanofluid as a transport medium has a great deal of potential in heat transfer engineering applications. In this work, nanosilica was derived from natural sources, rice husk through incineration and chemical treatment process. Various SiO2 nanoparticle volume concentrations (0–1 vol%) were dispersed in EG/water binary mixture assisted by ultrasound technique to produce SiO2 nanocoolant. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to identify the surface morphology and size of the nanosilica. Furhermore, the study was further conducted in a car radiator to determine the thermal profile consists of the effect of nanoparticle concentration and the longevity testing of the nanocoolant. Findings show that nanosilica particles were in range of 15–25 nm with irregular shape. Moreover, the heat transfer performance was enhanced as the SiO2 concentration was increased. Apart from that, SiO2 1 vol% shows a great thermal behaviour as it takes a shorter time to achieve and maintain at optimal working temperature compared to other samples. Apart from that, it can be observed that SiO2 nanocoolant possesses slightly higher properties than the base fluid and conventional coolant. The results also revealed the average heat transfer coefficient is directly proportional to the volume concentration of nanofluids and the heat transfer performance of the radiator increased with the inclusion of nanoparticles to the base fluid. © 2022
