Adaptive particle swarm optimization model for resource leveling

In the process of engineering project construction, the balanced allocation of resources has an important impact on the purchase of actual materials, the progress of the site construction and the arrangement of temporary facilities. Although there have been many studies on the use of evolutionary computation (EC) to solve the fixed duration of the resource-leveling problem, the optimization effect of standard EC to solve the resource-balancing problem in large-scale network design planning is reduced due to the phenomenon of premature convergence of PSO and the complexity of large-scale network planning. Therefore, in this paper, an adaptive dissipative particle swarm optimization (ADPSO) algorithm is used to solve the resource balancing optimization problem for different network-plans scales, and the feasibility of the developed model is verified using four different scaled network plans (databases). At the same time, a solution to the dynamic resource-leveling problem with optimization for a fixed duration is proposed. The results show that the proposed models are suitable for solving the problem of resource-leveling with a fixed duration of optimization of different scale network plans, and their accuracy and stability are significantly improved compared to the state-of-the-art approaches. Moreover, the proposed models are accurate and suitable for combining the calculation method of network planning time parameters with the ADPSO algorithm to realize dynamic resource balancing optimization. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The evolution of different techniques for exploring cerebral activity and the development of signal processing and analysis methods have enabled a better understanding of the dynamic cerebral mechanisms in favor of fine diagnosis and characterization of certain diseases such as dementia and epilepsy. Integration of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) with electroencephalography (EEG) has offered the possibility of understanding new insights into neuroscientific studies because of the higher temporal and spatial measurements of brain activity when compared with the use of each technique separately. However, the experimental limitations of fMRI/EEG are mainly the numerous artifacts, mainly due to switching of magnetic field gradients and cardiac activity. To provide a comprehensive overview of this research area, a systematic mapping study has been conducted. This mapping study aims to identify the topics studied within the artifacts’ detection in EEG and fMRI data, as well as examine the adopted research methodologies, identify the gaps in the current research and point to directions for future research. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Recently,developments of Internet and cloud technologies have resulted in a considerable rise in utilization of online media for day to day *** results in illegal access to users’private data and compromises *** is a popular attack which tricked the user into accessing malicious data and gaining the *** identification of phishing emails can be treated as an essential process in the domain of *** article focuses on the design of bio-geography based optimization with deep learning for Phishing Email detection and classification(BBODL-PEDC)*** major intention of the BBODL-PEDC model is to distinguish emails between legitimate and *** BBODL-PEDC model initially performs data pre-processing in three levels namely email cleaning,tokenization,and stop word ***,TF-IDF model is applied for the extraction of useful feature ***,optimal deep belief network(DBN)model is used for the email classification and its efficacy can be boosted by the BBO based hyperparameter tuning *** performance validation of the BBODL-PEDC model can be performed using benchmark dataset and the results are assessed under several *** comparative studies reported the superior outcomes of the BBODL-PEDC model over the recent approaches.

In order to reduce the network load and the access delay of web users, caching and prefetching technology are considered to be the main methods to solve the problems of web access delay. At present, the research on caching and prefetching technology often only emphasizes the improvement of replacement strategy or prefetching algorithm, lacks the research on prefetching method, and the improvement of access delay is not ideal. Combined with caching and prefetching methods, a hybrid Markov caching and prefetching model considering the change of user browsing trend over time is established. Aiming at the shortcomings of the current web page prefetching methods, the model uses the hierarchical clustering method to find out the time-varying interval of user browsing behavior. Each time interval uses a Markov chain to predict and maintain the freshness of information. The experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the cache hit rate and reduce the network access delay. © 2022 SPIE

Measuring the electromagnetic overall performance and configuration of networks in high-interference environments can be challenging. In those environments, the indicators of hobby can be infected with unwanted heritage indicators, i.e., noise, leading to degraded overall performance and misguided size readings. This paper investigates the most reliable techniques for measuring networks' electromagnetic performance and configuration in these problematic environments, utilizing introducing a unique multistage framework that combines sign-processing strategies with some community parameters. In particular, the framework includes four degrees: sign reception, sensitivity analysis, pass-correlation, and community configuration optimization-an analysis of the results of varying environmental conditions on sign reception and sensitivity change into conduct. A cross-correlation approach has evolved to decide the extent of correlation among one-of-a-kind alerts and to locate the specific configurations of the particular networks. Sooner or later, an optimization set of rules was carried out to locate the network's optimum configuration. The final result of this research is a reliable method for measuring the electromagnetic performance and configuration of networks in high-interference environments. The proposed technique is anticipated to help researchers and engineers better understand the electromagnetic behaviors of complicated networks in actual-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Charity giving is a fundamental aspect of society, but there are concerns about the accountability and transparency of the donation process. Blockchain technology has emerged as a potential solution, offering a secure and auditable platform for managing charitable contributions. In this paper, we explore the concept of empowering donors through blockchain technology and examine how it can help ensure that contributions reach the right recipients. We review existing literature on the topic and identify key areas for future research, including the development of hybrid blockchain solutions along with the implementation of novel consensus mechanisms. Moreover, providing the idea of decentralized autonomous organizations, self-executing smart contracts, and integration of blockchain with artificial intelligence and Internet of things. By providing a comprehensive overview of the current state of the field and outlining a roadmap for future research, we hope to stimulate further exploration of the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize charity giving, and create a more accountable and transparent system for managing charitable funds. Some research questions are designed for each novel idea. Our analysis suggests that blockchain has the potential to empower donors and ensure that their contributions make a positive impact in the world, but further research is needed to fully realize its potential. © 2023 IEEE.

Urban noise pollution is a harmful environmental stressor for city inhabitants and its impact has been proven to be harmful for short- and long-term health. Having accurate models to predict and analyze the noise in ever-growing cities is therefore crucial. If we focus on the scale of city streets, several wave-based numerical methods have been developed and optimized to predict the sound propagation in urban street canyons. Some methods are more suited than others to incorporate relevant meteorological effects such as wind profile, temperature gradient and air absorption into their model. However, integrating those phenomena comes at a certain computational cost. Assessing in advance the relevant meteorological effects worth taking into account and only considering those effects in the method would possibly reduce the computational burden of the modelling. This paper aims to summarize previous modelling efforts, key effects and relate these to established computational methods for accounting meteorological conditions inside an urban street canyon. This overview seeks to identify current limitations in computational modelling with the overall aim to improve next-generation simulations using advanced wave-based computing methods. © ICA *** rights reserved

Abstraction layers are of paramount importance in software architecture, as they shield the higher-level formulation of payload computations from lower-level details. Since quantum computing (QC) introduces many such details that are often unaccustomed to computer scientists, an obvious desideratum is to devise appropriate abstraction layers for QC. For discrete optimisation, one such abstraction is to cast problems in quadratic unconstrained binary optimisation (QUBO) form, which is amenable to a variety of quantum approaches. However, different mathematically equivalent forms can lead to different behaviour on quantum hardware, ranging from ease of mapping onto qubits to performance scalability. In this work, we show how using higher-order problem formulations (that provide better expressivity in modelling optimisation tasks than plain QUBO formulations) and their automatic transformation into QUBO form can be used to leverage such differences to prioritise between different desired non-functional properties for quantum optimisation. Based on a practically relevant use-case and a graph-theoretic analysis, we evaluate how different transformation approaches influence widely used quantum performance metrics (circuit depth, gates count, gate distribution, qubit scaling), and also consider the classical computational efforts required to perform the transformations, as they influence possibilities for achieving future quantum advantage. Furthermore, we establish more general properties and invariants of the transformation methods. Our quantitative study shows that the approach allows us to satisfy different trade-offs, and suggests various possibilities for the future construction of general-purpose abstractions and automatic generation of useful quantum circuits from high-level problem descriptions.

In the paper a problem related to the field of edge computing is considered. We discuss a situation where an autonomous energy charging station is used to perform the process of charging a fleet of electric vehicles. The station consists of two modules: a computing and an executive one. The computing module is equipped with a variable speed processor, and is responsible to find a schedule of the charging jobs. We discuss the model of the system and the resulting scheduling problem, as well and we propose a few basic approaches for solving it. Some conclusions and directions for future research are given.

Association football is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players, with approximately 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. Predicting the results of football matches has been chosen by so many people who love football. This study has three objectives which are to predict the football matches outcome using Poisson models, to predict football matches outcomes using Poisson Regression model and lastly is to evaluate the results using prediction accuracy, log-likelihood, AIC value and R-squared value. A comparative analysis on football match outcomes based three variations of Poisson models from the literature, which are the default model, Dixon-Coles model, Rue-Salvesen model, and Poisson Regression model have been runned. The experiments are conducted using the RStudio with the football match dataset taken from English Premier League Season 2015/2016 until 2020/2021 as the training dataset and Season 2021/2022 as the testing dataset. The experiments showed that the best prediction model is the Dixon-Coles Poisson model with the highest log-likelihood of -15023.29 and the lowest AIC value of 32056.57. © 2022 IEEE.
