Gliomas hold a prominent position in neurooncology due to their high malignancy and poor survival rates. Accurately predicting the prognosis and survival risk of glioma patients is crucial for clinical treatment. Recent advances in survival prediction methods emphasize the importance of integrating complementary information from diverse modalities while neglecting the significant modality gap between pathological images and genomic data. To address this issue, we propose a modality-specific knowledge interaction network (MSKI-Net), which integrates whole slide images (WSI), RNA-Seq gene expression data, and copy number variation (CNV) data for glioma survival analysis. The MSKI-Net consists of a modality-specific feature enhancement (MSFE) module, a modality-interactive cross-attention (MICA) module, and a modality-specific knowledge-guided representation learning (MSKR) module. The three modules collaborate by complementing modality-specific features with modality-agnostic knowledge to improve the learning capability of MSKI-Net. Furthermore, we construct a dataset named TCGAmm, which combines WSI, RNA-Seq, and CNV data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to address the issue of data scarcity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that MSKI-Net achieves superior performance in predicting the survival risk of glioma cancer. © 2024 IEEE.

Medical treatment costs are rising for many reasons. These include an increasing world population, an aging population, greater healthcare needs, more diseases, and inflation. With AI's emergence in navigation, voice recognition, image lesion segmentation, ride-sharing, and smartphone personal assistants, the healthcare industry has quickly adopted it. Initial preprocessing includes standardization, missing values, and discarding anomalies. Next, the model is trained using the obtained features. Spearman correlation, a rank-based nonparametric statistic, can quantify monotonic correlation strength and direction. Even with missing values, the Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) performs well in model training. The suggested model outperformed state-of-the-art alternatives with 93.48% accuracy. It outperformed TransLSTM and GraphSAGE on complex datasets. This research stresses the system's ability to improve healthcare forecast accuracy through preprocessing, feature extraction, and GCN model training. Results show that AI can improve healthcare analytics despite lacking data. © 2025 IEEE.

Orthocarbonate Sr₂CO₄ is a recently discovered Sr-carbonate that plays a crucial role in understanding the global long-term carbon cycle. In this work, the structure, equation of state, elasticity, and thermal conductivity of Sr₂CO₄ were studied by first-principles calculations. The results show that the surfaces of the SrO₉ and SrO₁₁ polyhedrons, which make up Sr₂CO₄, are composed of triangles and quadrangles. By comparison with other alkaline earth metal orthocarbonates, SrCO₃ polymorphs, and the Preliminary Reference Earth Model (PREM), Sr₂CO₄ is found to be a carbonate with high density, low wave velocity, low anisotropy, and low thermal conductivity in the entire Earth's mantle. This study may help to understand the high-pressure behavior of alkaline earth metal orthocarbonates in the Earth's interior. © 2024 The Author(s)

Improvements in patient care and early disease detection possibilities are two of the ways artificial intelligence is transforming the healthcare industry. Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative disease that worsens with time, is among the most difficult diseases to exactly identify in early stages. Patients thus delay in treatment and experience a decline in their quality of life. Research is still under progress, thus knowledge about how AI-driven prediction models could be combined with readily available healthcare services remains lacking. This work presents a special artificial intelligence-powered system consisting of DenseNet-based deep learning for Alzheimer's disease prediction with an online consultation platform. The proposed approach analyzes brain MRI data and classifies Alzheimer's stages with higher accuracy using a DenseNet architecture, well-known for its exceptional performance in the field of feature extraction. Comprising three thousand magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, the dataset has been preprocessed for noise reduction and tuned for models performance. At 98.5%, the DenseNet model exceeded other methods including VGGNet and ResNet in accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

Digital twins are a relatively new concept that have lately garnered interest in the industrial sector. Digital twins are virtual models that mirror actual products. In this research, we suggest using the technology of digital twins to the field of healthcare in order to enhance clinical decision support and to provide more individualized treatment for patients. When artificial intelligence (AI) is combined with digital twins, healthcare professionals are able to more effectively analyze large volumes of varied data and increase their ability to make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. In this research, we provide a conceptual framework for leveraging digital twins and AI to solve existing limits in cancer care, notably endometrial cancer therapy. This research study mainly focuses on cancer care, and more specifically on endometrial cancer treatment. In addition, we analyze the possible challenges and opportunities that may arise throughout the process of integrating this technology in healthcare settings. Our overarching objective is to improve the standard of treatment as well as the clinical results for people who have cancer.

Recent technological advancements have paved the way for the optimization of medical processes, particularly automated disease detection. Moreover, the adoption of machine learning (ML) has greatly helped in automating disease detection. Such approaches can detect various diseases early, enabling timely treatment to save countless lives. Early and accurate diagnosis is very important for diseases like monkeypox, to curb its spread. Monkeypox is a viral disease caused by double-stranded DNA and can be transmitted through close contact with infected humans or animals. It’s early identification and accurate lesion diagnosis are critical to contain the disease. This study proposes an automated approach to optimize the diagnosis of monkeypox disease using a novel vision transformer, which is utilized due to its effectiveness for feature extraction. The Proposed approach’s efficiency and accuracy are tested on a public benchmark dataset comprising a variety of skin lesions of different ages and genders. In addition, data augmentation involves rotation, scaling, and flipping thereby enhancing the density of the training data set for better generalization of ML models. Experiments involve binary, as well as, multi-class classification. For the binary class, the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 97.63%, outperforming traditional ML and deep learning (DL) techniques. In the case of multi-class classification with monkeypox, measles, normal, HFMD, cowpox, and chickenpox classes, the proposed model archives an accuracy of 90.61% while precision, recall, and F1 scores are 91.39%, 89.17%, and 90.28%, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed approach shows average accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 scores of 97.54%, 96.19%, 95.16%, and 95.67%, respectively for five-fold cross-validation. Understanding human personality traits is significant as it helps in decision making related to consumers’ behavior, career counselling, team building and top candidates’ selection for recruitment. Among various traits, openness is essential as it shows both diverse aspects of sensitive nature or intuitive nature. The individuals having a sensing nature tends to be more practical and prefer to focus on concrete information whereas the users having intuitive trait type is characterized by a focus on abstract ideas, creative thinking and future-oriented perspectives. In this research work, we aim to explore diverse natural language processing (NLP) based features and apply state of the art deep learning algorithms for openness trait prediction. Using standard Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) dataset, we propose the use of the latest deep features of sentence embeddings which captures contextual semantics of the content to be used with deep learning models. For comparison, we explore textual features of Frequency-Inverse Document (TF-IDF) and parts of speech (POS) tagging with machine learning models and deep features of word2vec and global vectors for word representation (GloVe) with deep learning models. The comprehensive empirical analysis reveals that TF-IDF used with gradient boosting achieves high accuracy of 90% whereas, the deep feature of sentence embeddings when used and with deep model bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) achieves 90.5% accuracy. The best results have been achieved using the latest Transformer-based DistilBERT, which achieves the highest accuracy of 92% outperforming the existing studies in relevant literature. The idea of this study is to validate a list of keywords derived from a scientific article by a domain expert from years of knowledge with prominent document similarity algorithms. For this study, a list of handcrafted keywords generated by Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) experts are chosen, and relevant documents to EDLC are considered for the comparison. Then, different similarity calculation algorithms were employed in different settings on the documents such as using the whole texts of the documents, selecting the positive sentences of the documents, and generating similarity score with automatically extracted keywords from the documents. The experiment's outcome provides us with findings that the machine-generated keywords are mostly similar to the curated list by the domain experts. This study also suggests the preferable algorithms for similarity calculation and automated key-phrase extraction for the EDLC domain. © 2021 IEEE.

Measurement-based optical quantum computers (MBOQCs) using continuous-variables (CVs) of traveling wave of light have a potential for ultra-fast fault-tolerant quantum information processing [1]. In CV MBOQCs, broadband high-level squeezed light is the most essential quantum resource. Broad bandwidth not only enables high-clock frequency computation, but also contributes to the realization of large-scale quantum computers using time-domain-multiplexed quantum entanglement. This is because squeezed light with a broader bandwidth enables us to define many more quantum wave packets in a narrow time range. On the other hand, high-level squeezing contributes to high-fidelity quantum operation and suppression of quantum errors. For example, over-8.3-dB squeezing enables us to achieve a fault-tolerant CV MBOQC with Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill (GKP) coding [2].

Health care plays a vital responsibility in a human life span. World countries targets to provide better care for their citizens.
