In this article, we introduce a novel voice recording setup in clinical practice. The aim of this setup is to take recordings of patients who underwent a surgery on vocal cords. The setup utilizes only one microphone for recording so no sound level meter measurement and calibration are required, as we want to emulate conditions where patients are taking their recording at home using smartphones or headsets. We also introduce a software for clinical practice that allows physicians to manage simple patient information and take recordings of their voice. Lastly, we propose the sequence of sounds and sentences that patients should say. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), the game between the human and machine/AI becomes more and more common. The related theoretical analysis becomes significant and necessary, which however is still rare. This problem involves evolution analysis and optimal control of dynamic game systems driven by learning algorithms. In this paper, we consider a finitely repeated two-player zero-sum game. We study the dynamic evolution process of the game system, in which one player employs the Hedge algorithm and the other player takes the myopic best response. By the updating formula of the Hedge algorithm, we define a quantity called the state and construct the State Transition Triangle Graph (STTG). Then, we prove that the game system is periodic after o(T) stages. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In the process industry, limit cycles are mostly induced by stiction-related nonlinearity in control valves, severely deteriorating control loop performance. Such problem highlights the importance of compensating for oscillations due to valve stiction. To this end, this work introduces an improved PI controller(IPIC) for stiction compensation, which retains the advantages of the traditional PI controller with fewer adjustment parameters. The enhancement involves nonlinear variation of the integral gain based on instantaneous error. Additionally, a differential evolution algorithm is utilized for controller *** to state-of-the-art methods in setpoint tracking, disturbance rejection, and robustness to parameter uncertainties, the proposed approach exhibits superior performance.

This paper addresses the problem of leader-following consensus in heterogeneous multi-agent systems (HMAS) with input saturation and communication delay. Given the practical differences between leader and follower dimensions, we design virtual leaders to address this problem by allowing actual leaders and followers to communicate with virtual leaders separately, thus enabling indirect communication between actual leaders and followers. Additionally, the control protocol proposed in this paper takes into account the effects of input saturation and time delay that exist in real communication. At last, a simulation example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed control protocol. © 2024 IEEE.

Self-Supervised Node Representation Learning via Node-to-Neighbourhood Alignment

Self-supervised node representation learning aims to learn node representations from unlabelled graphs that rival the supervised counterparts. The key towards learning informative node representations lies in how to effectively gain contextual information from the graph structure. In this work, we present simple-yet-effective self-supervised node representation learning via aligning the hidden representations of nodes and their neighbourhood. Our first idea achieves such node-to-neighbourhood alignment by directly maximizing the mutual information between their representations, which, we prove theoretically, plays the role of graph smoothing. Our framework is optimized via a surrogate contrastive loss and a Topology-Aware Positive Sampling (TAPS) strategy is proposed to sample positives by considering the structural dependencies between nodes, which enables offline positive selection. Considering the excessive memory overheads of contrastive learning, we further propose a negative-free solution, where the main contribution is a Graph Signal Decorrelation (GSD) constraint to avoid representation collapse and over-smoothing. The GSD constraint unifies some of the existing constraints and can be used to derive new implementations to combat representation collapse. By applying our methods on top of simple MLP-based node representation encoders, we learn node representations that achieve promising node classification performance on a set of graph-structured datasets from small-to large-scale. Angle-based formation stabilization and maneuvers in port-Hamiltonian form with bearing and velocity measurements

This paper proposes a port-Hamiltonian framework for angle-based formation stabilization and maneuvers using bearing and velocity measurements with an underlying triangulated Laman graph. The corresponding port-Hamiltonian controller is designed using virtual couplings on the errors of angle constraints in angle space and then the angle constraints and agent actuators are mapped by the constraint Jacobian, which can be applied to other formation constraints. In addition, due to the fact that the port-Hamiltonian model allows for complex and heterogeneous agent dynamics, our framework can be extended to networks with different agent dynamics and formation constraints. To avoid unavailable distance terms in the control law, an estimator is designed based on port-Hamiltonian theory and the property that energy is coordinate-free for different sensor modalities using bearing and velocity measurements, which permits our framework to inject damping for the formation maneuvers. Furthermore, several maneuvers are analyzed under both considerations of stabilization and transient performance. Simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach. Autonomous driving systems rely on accurate and reliable lane detection to safely navigate roads. In this paper, we propose a method for improving lane annotation in autonomous driving data sets using classical computer vision techniques. The proposed method combines the Hough transform and linear curve fitting to detect and smooth the positions of lane markings in a video stream. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method on the Berkeley DeepDrive (BDD) dataset and compare it to the ground truth annotations. Results show that the proposed method achieves a high level of accuracy and robustness in lane detection, and can effectively improve lane annotation in autonomous driving data sets. Our method provides a valuable tool for training and evaluating autonomous driving systems, and can also be applied to improve annotation in different datasets.

The growing demand for air traffic presents challenges in air traffic management, making seamless gate-to-gate communication essential. Traditional radio frequency communication faces limitations such as weather dependency and frequency restrictions. To address these issues, data link communications have gained importance, using VHF channels, satellite systems, and ATN/IPS-based networks. This study introduces the ATMACA (Air Traffic Management and Communication Over ATN/IPS) protocol, an advanced context management framework for ATN/IPS, designed to enhance aviation communications. ATMACA integrates instant messaging and software-defined nodes to improve connectivity, session continuity, and mobility management across networks and devices. It ensures seamless user interaction, reduces pilot workload, and enhances flight safety through automated Air Traffic control (ATC) sector handoff in controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Data Link Initiation Capability (DLIC) applications. Another key innovation of the ATMACA framework is Green Route Operations (GRO), which enables real-time trajectory prediction and optimization. © 2025 IEEE.
