In this paper, we explain how differential flatness combined with Gaussian Processes can be applied for the adaptive cruise control system under external, unknown dynamics, to attain accurate trajectory tracking. The proposed approach employs differential flatness for controller design, along with Gaussian Processes to estimate the unknown components in the dynamics. In order to ensure robustness to this data-driven technique, a robust control law is also introduced, that further exploits the Gaussian Process framework. In the recent publication [12], we showed the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology for set-point regulation. In the current paper, we generalize it to trajectory tracking and show numerically that the error dynamics converge to zero.

This paper investigates the continuous-time unconstrained optimization via dynamical gradient flow systems. For strongly convex objective functions, a gradient flow with predefined time convergence is proposed, which is suitable for relaxing the objective function to only satisfy the PolyakLojasiewicz ($\mathbf{P}-\mathrm{L}$) condition. A predefined-time convergent Newton’s flow is designed for the minimization of strictly convex functions. The proposed result is extended for strongly convex objective functions with time-varying parameters. In our schemes, the upper bound of convergence time can be used as a prior choice without involving system initialization and complex parameter calculations. The convergence of algorithms is rigorously proved by using the Lyapunov method. Numerical simulation illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

A comparative study on modeling a fluid catalytic cracking unit using different variations of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network is presented in this paper. The study includes Stacked LSTM, Bidirectional LSTM, Convolutional neural network - LSTM (CNN-LSTM), and Encoder-Decoder LSTM. Furthermore, a decentralized neural network architecture is proposed, in which each subunit of FCC is modeled by a separate neural network and then integrated into a single network. The hyperparameters of each neural network topology are optimized to get the most accurate results. Then a comparison is carried out based on means square error and R² score of products forecasting. Results show the superiority of the proposed neural network over the other networks in terms of accuracy. However, at the expense of an increase in training time. © 2023, The Authors. In this paper, we propose a contact-free wheat moisture monitoring system, termed Wi-Wheat+, to address the several limitations of the existing grain moisture detection technologies, such as time-consuming process, expensive equipment, low accuracy, and difficulty in real-time monitoring. The proposed system is based on Commodity WiFi and is easy to deploy. Leveraging WiFi CSI data, this paper proposes a feature extraction method based on multi-scale and multi-channel entropy. The feasibility and stability of the system are validated through experiments in both Line-Of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) scenarios, where ten types of wheat moisture content are tested using multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM). Compared with the Wi-Wheat system proposed in our prior work, Wi-Wheat+ has higher efficiency, requiring only a simple training process, and can sense more wheat moisture content levels. © 2022 Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications

In this paper, we propose an Industrial Semantic Communications (ISC) framework to ensure efficient and in-telligent communication in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) networks, and further apply the proposed framework to the task of tool wear monitoring. A semantic-aware tool wear monitoring network (TWM-Net) is designed to accurately identify the idling state from tool wear data, thus assisting the semantic data transmission process of the ISC framework. Then, a demo software system is implemented to verify the delay performance of the proposed ISC framework. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed ISC framework can facilitate the semantic information exchange between edge industrial system and cloud platform together with the deep compressed sensing method, and significantly reduce the amount of data transmissions in IIoT networks. Memristors have also become one of the most promising research hotspots for solving data storage and computing problems faced in the big data era. As an emerging electronic device, memristor has potentially important applications in information storage and processing. This paper constructs a rod-shaped TiO 2 −x nanoscale memristor with FTO/TiO 2 −x/Cu structure, whose reliability is based on the memory behavior and its conversion mechanism. Research progress including materials, preparation methods, resistive switching mechanism and application prospects are described. First, the constituent materials of memristor are introduced, focusing on metal oxides and organic materials such as titanium oxide (TiO 2 ). The choice of these materials is critical to memristor performance and applications. Secondly, the advantages and limitations of the preparation methods are discussed. Then the resistance switching mechanism of memristor was studied in depth, focusing on the generation principle and adjustment mechanism of memristor effect. These include important concepts such as charge migration, Schottky barrier formation and oxygen vacancy drift, which help to understand the electrical properties of memristors. In addition, we explore the prospects of memristors in practical applications. Finally, past and current work in this field is summarized, and the prospects and challenges of memristorrelated research are prospected.

In recent years, as people’s living standards have improved and consumption concepts have been transformed, the demand for purchasing consumer electronics online has continued to grow, further stimulating the development of the logistics industry. Consequently, how to deliver consumer electronics to households at minimal cost has become a crucial factor that limits the development of the consumer technology industry. To tackle this problem, this paper studies the task assignment problem for multiple initially dispersed UAVs to deliver products to target locations while minimizing their total operation time. Each UAV can continuously provide delivery services to multiple target locations within its limited loading capacity and operation time. To solve this problem, we propose several hybrid multipopulation genetic algorithms. First, a novel crossover operator for the genetic algorithms is designed, through which a single parent chromosome can generate offspring individually. Second, two mutation mechanisms are performed to increase gene diversity. Third, multiple local search strategies are employed to enhance the populations’ fitness during each iteration of evolution. An improved 2-opt local search strategy is applied to optimize individual chromosomes when their similarity with the current best chromosome falls below a prescribed threshold. Alternatively, local search strategies are utilized for 1-opt, 2h-opt and interchange processes. Combining local search strategies, genetic operators, and the multi-population mechanism leads to several hybrid multi-population genetic algorithms. Numerical simulations and experimental tests demonstrate that the hybrid multi-population genetic algorithm, integrated with the improved 2-opt and 1-opt local search strategies, exhibits superior performance among the designed hybrid genetic algorithms, the minimum marginal cost algorithm (MMA), and the existing popular Co-evolutionary Multi-population Genetic Algorithm (CMGA). Active disturbance-rejection methods are effective in estimating and rejecting disturbances in both transient and steady-state *** paper presents a deep observation on and a comparison between two of those methods:the generalized extended-state observer(GESO)and the equivalent input disturbance(EID)from assumptions,system configurations,stability conditions,system design,disturbance-rejection performance,and extensibility.A time-domain index is introduced to assess the disturbance-rejection performance.A detailed observation of disturbance-suppression mechanisms reveals the superiority of the EID approach over the GESO method.A comparison between these two methods shows that assumptions on disturbances are more practical and the adjustment of disturbance-rejection performance is easier for the EID approach than for the GESO method.

In order for higher levels of autonomous driving to be achieved, the demanding environmental perception and decision-making algorithms are developed. Meeting real-time system requirements is a mandatory task for all of these algorithms to be properly utilized. In order to meet these requirements, GPUs are widely used, and one of the biggest challenges is providing the deterministic scheduling of different tasks on GPU based on their priority classes. The complete determinism which ensures the absolute control of processes on GPU has still not been achieved. In this paper, we propose and evaluate one method that allows scheduling of tasks with different types of time constraints. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper addresses the state-feedback control problem for the class of state-polynomial discrete-time systems. The continuous-time polynomial nonlinear model is discretized by the second-order Runge-Kutta method. The Lyapunov theory and the exponential stability were employed to derive the conditions. The sum of squares formulation was used to check the constraints. Two approaches are presented, the first makes use of the Lyapunov function to recover the gain matrices. While the second formulation allows the design of rational state feedback control gains. We evaluated the impact of the step size used in the discretization process in the results. Numerical experiments were used to illustrate the potential of the proposed technique.
