In this paper, we propose LF-PGVIO, a Visual-Inertial-Odometry (VIO) framework for large Field-of-View (FoV) cameras with a negative plane using points and geodesic segments. The purpose of our research is to unleash the potential of point-line odometry with large-FoV omnidirectional cameras, even for cameras with negative-plane FoV. To achieve this, we propose an Omnidirectional Curve Segment Detection (OCSD) method combined with a camera model which is applicable to images with large distortions, such as panoramic annular images, fisheye images, and various panoramic images. The geodesic segment is sliced into multiple straight-line segments based on the radian and descriptors are extracted and recombined. Descriptor matching establishes the constraint relationship between 3D line segments in multiple frames. In our VIO system, line feature residual is also extended to support large-FoV cameras. Extensive evaluations on public datasets demonstrate the superior accuracy and robustness of LF-PGVIO compared to state-of-the-art methods. The design of validity index of fuzzy clustering has always been a historical problem in fuzzy clustering field. When the distribution of cluster centers is very close, it is difficult for the existing fuzzy clustering validity indexes to obtain a reasonable cluster number, and the separation mechanism of these indexes is too simple. In order to solve the above problems, we propose a novel fuzzy clustering validity index called TLW (Tang-Li-Wang) index. Firstly, compactness is expressed as the ratio of the membership weighted distance value to the sample variance of the dataset. Secondly, the sum of the maximum distance between cluster centers and the mean distance is used in separateness, and the sample variance of cluster centers is introduced, and the two are multiplied to describe the separateness. Thirdly, on the basis of considering compactness and separateness, the introduction of cluster number can alleviate the phenomenon that the index value may change monotonically with the increase of cluster number. Finally, the classical FCM (Fuzzy C-Mean) algorithm is used to conduct experiments on indexes. Comparative experiments and analyses were carried out on 17 typical datasets and 12 clustering validity indexes. From the experimental results of normal simple datasets and high-dimensional difficult datasets, the proposed index shows some advantages. SWDPM: A Social Welfare-Optimized Data Pricing Mechanism

Data trading has been hindered by privacy concerns associated with user-owned data and the infinite reproducibility of data, making it challenging for data owners to retain exclusive rights over their data once it has been disclosed. Traditional data pricing models relied on uniform pricing or subscription-based models. However, with the development of Privacy-Preserving computing techniques, the market can now protect the privacy and complete transactions using progressively disclosed information, which creates a technical foundation for generating greater social welfare through data usage. In this study, we propose a novel approach to modeling multi-round data trading with progressively disclosed information using a matchmaking-based Markov Decision Process (MDP) and introduce a Social Welfare-optimized Data Pricing Mechanism (SWDPM) to find optimal pricing strategies. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to model multi-round data trading with progressively disclosed information. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the SWDPM can increase social welfare 3 times by up to 54% in trading feasibility, 43% in trading efficiency, and 25% in trading fairness by encouraging better matching of demand and price negotiation among traders. Smart precision agriculture utilizes modern information and wireless communication technologies to achieve challenging agricultural ***,Internet of Things(IoT)technology can be applied to monitor and detect harmful insect pests such as red palm weevils(RPWs)in the farms of date palm *** this paper,we propose a new IoT-based framework for early sound detection of RPWs using fine-tuned transfer learning classifier,namely *** sound sensors,namely TreeVibes devices are carefully mounted on each palm trunk to setup wireless sensor networks in the *** trees are labeled based on the sensor node number to identify the infested ***,the acquired audio signals are sent to a cloud server for further on-line analysis by our fine-tuned deep transfer learning model,i.e.,*** proposed infestation classifier has been successfully validated on the public TreeVibes *** includes total short recordings of 1754 samples,such that the clean and infested signals are 1754 and 731 samples,*** to other deep learning models in the literature,our proposed InceptionResNet-V2 classifier achieved the best performance on the public database of TreeVibes audio *** resulted classification accuracy score was 97.18%.Using 10-fold cross validation,the fine-tuned InceptionResNet-V2 achieved the best average accuracy score and standard deviation of 94.53%and±1.69,*** the proposed intelligent IoT-aided detection system of RPWs in date palm farms is the main prospect of this research work.

Over recent years, deep convolutional neural networks have advanced the field of face recognition in both verification and identification applications. In this paper, we present ShadowNets, a highly efficient and compact face recognition network. We employed multiple shadow blocks in a cascading manner where the output of each shadow block is given as the input to the next shadow block. By integrating the advantages of Focal Modulation Blocks, Shadow Block and Ghost Modules, our proposed ShadowNets achieves superior face recognition performance, optimized specifically for edge devices. This network architecture not only minimizes computational costs and storage needs but also delivers high accuracy, making it suitable for deployment in edge environments. Our extensive experiments on challenging benchmark face datasets showcase the outstanding performance by achieving accuracy 98.85% on LFW, 84.37% on CFP-FP, and 91.23% on AgeDB-30 which validates the effectiveness of ShadowNets over state-of-the-art lightweight and deep face recognition models.

A Multiple-Image Authentication Method Based on Phase-Only Hologram and Logistic Map

An interesting security method for multiple-image authentication scheme is proposed based on computer-generated holograms and logistic map. First, each original image is encoded as the complex-valued hologram under the point light source model. The resulting hologram is then converted to a phase-only hologram using the Floyd-Steinberg dithering algorithm. Second, each phase-only hologram is randomly sampled by the aid of a binary mask. Through the catenation of all selected pixels, a phase-only pixel sequence is formed. Finally, a non-periodic and non-converging sequence generated with logistic map is used to scramble this sequence. After only preserving the phase data of the scrambled sequence, the real-valued ciphertext carrying the information of all original images is obtained. In the process of authentication, although no valid information can be discerned from noisy reconstructed images at a small sampling rate, the verification of original images can be efficiently accomplished using the nonlinear correlation maps. Besides binary masks, the parameters of logistic map are served as secret keys. Due to their high sensitivity, the security of the proposed method is greatly enhanced. The proposed authentication mechanism has been demonstrated to be effective and robust through experiments. To our best knowledge, it is first time to implement multiple-image authentication using phase-only holograms, which can provide a new perspective for optical information security. © 2024, The Authors. In this paper, we propose a novel three-dimensional FHN (FitzHugh-Nagumo model) neuron model incorporating a memristor, which is an improvement derived from adding a sinusoidal magnetic conductive memory to the existing FHN neuron model. Employing the ODE45 algorithm, we utilize Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation plots to analyze neuronal activity under different parameters and demonstrate that the improved three-dimensional FHN neuron model with memristor exhibits certain chaotic phenomena under specific conditions. Through the inference analysis of the offset mechanism of the new neuronal model, it is found that it has hidden infinite number of firing modes coexisting. In addition, it has been found that it also has a chaotic attractor growth phenomenon.

This paper presents an interactive motion control method based on reinforcement learning, designed to assist children with autism who have social motor impairments through a mirror game intervention. The virtual teacher uses the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) algorithm to optimize its actions, guiding the participant to follow a Lissajous trajectory. To ensure safety, a motion-correction mechanism was developed, which automatically adjusts actions when the predicted trajectory surpasses predefined safety boundaries. The reward function considers both the distance between the virtual teacher and the target trajectory, as well as the distance between the virtual teacher and the participant, with dynamic adjustments applied by the motion-correction mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate that the virtual teacher effectively guides the participant towards the target trajectory while adhering to safety constraints.
