Metaheuristic optimization algorithms present an effective method for solving several optimization problems from various types of applications and *** metaheuristics and evolutionary optimization algorithms have been emerged recently in the literature and gained widespread attention,such as particle swarm optimization(PSO),whale optimization algorithm(WOA),grey wolf optimization algorithm(GWO),genetic algorithm(GA),and gravitational search algorithm(GSA).According to the literature,no one metaheuristic optimization algorithm can handle all present optimization *** novel optimization methodologies are still *** Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)search optimization algorithm is proposed in this *** proposed algorithm was motivated by the behavior of swarm members in achieving their global *** search space around local solutions to be explored is determined by Al-Biruni earth radius calculation method.A comparative analysis with existing state-of-the-art optimization algorithms corroborated the findings of BER’s validation and testing against seven mathematical optimization *** results show that BER can both explore and avoid local *** has also been tested on an engineering design optimization *** results reveal that,in terms of performance and capability,BER outperforms the performance of state-of-the-art metaheuristic optimization algorithms.

Due to unforeseen climate change,complicated chronic diseases,and mutation of viruses’hospital administration’s top challenge is to know about the Length of stay(LOS)of different diseased patients in the *** management does not exactly know when the existing patient leaves the hospital;this information could be crucial for hospital *** could allow them to take more patients for *** a result,hospitals face many problems managing available resources and new patients in getting entries for their prompt ***,a robust model needs to be designed to help hospital administration predict patients’LOS to resolve these *** this purpose,a very large-sized data(more than 2.3 million patients’data)related to New-York Hospitals patients and containing information about a wide range of diseases including Bone-Marrow,Tuberculosis,Intestinal Transplant,Mental illness,Leukaemia,Spinal cord injury,Trauma,Rehabilitation,Kidney and Alcoholic Patients,HIV Patients,Malignant Breast disorder,Asthma,Respiratory distress syndrome,*** been analyzed to predict the *** selected six Machine learning(ML)models named:Multiple linear regression(MLR),Lasso regression(LR),Ridge regression(RR),Decision tree regression(DTR),Extreme gradient boosting regression(XGBR),and Random Forest regression(RFR).The selected models’predictive performance was checked using R square andMean square error(MSE)as the performance evaluation *** results revealed the superior predictive performance of the RFRmodel,both in terms of RS score(92%)and MSE score(5),among all selected *** Exploratory data analysis(EDA),we conclude that maximumstay was between 0 to 5 days with the meantime of each patient 5.3 days and more than 50 years old patients spent more days in the *** on the average LOS,results revealed that the patients with diagnoses related to birth complications spent more days in the hospital than other *** finding coul

The emergence of single-cell multi-omics sequencing technology has enabled the simultaneous profiling of diverse omics data within individual cells. It offers a more comprehensive perspective on cellular phenotypes and heterogeneity. However, single-cell multi-omics data are inherently high-dimensional and heterogeneous. Due to technical limitations and scarce starting materials, the data are often affected by noise and dropout effects. To address these challenges, we propose a novel multitask driven multi-level dynamical fusion algorithm for single-cell multi-omics cell type annotation, named scMMDyn. Our approach incorporates reconstruction and classification auxiliary tasks to guide the training of trustworthy modules at both the feature and modality levels. It executes dynamical fusion during these stages and finally achieves cross-modality fusion via an attention mechanism. This method effectively mitigates data quality issues through reconstruction tasks and feature-level dynamical fusion while providing interpretability at both feature and modality levels. Experimental results across diverse single-cell multi-omics datasets show that our method surpasses existing approaches in cell type annotation. © 2024 IEEE.

This study provides a comprehensive assessment of an extended set of modern classifiers designed for electroencephalography signal analysis in brain-computer interface systems. Using the modern model of the vector of cyclic rhythmically connected random processes for estimating signal characteristics, the classifiers compared encompass k-NN, Linear SVM, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Multilayer Perceptron, AdaBoost, and Naive Bayes. By decomposing signals into Fourier series, the optimal number of coefficients is investigated to both reduce computational complexity and increase accuracy. To facilitate a transparent and decisive comparison among the classifiers, the Confusion Matrix methodology is used. Results suggest that among the diverse range evaluated, Linear SVM, Naive Bayes, and Multilayer Perceptron classifiers showcased superior accuracy. © 2023 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.

We study a hypoplastic model for soil and granular materials stemming from geomechanical engineering which further incorporates effects of degradation of the granular hardness, therefore allowing for the description of environmental weathering. The governing system is described by a nonlinear system of transcendental-differential equations for stress and strain rate, which is investigated with respect to its long-time dynamic. Under deviatoric stress control, two different solutions of the underlying, implicit differential equations are constructed analytically. The spherical components of stress and strain rate converge asymptotically to an attractor and lead to the sparsification of material states. Whereas under cyclic loading-unloading carried out in a numerical simulation, finite ratcheting of the deviatoric strain rate is observed in the form of a square spiral. © The Author(s) 2024.

Sustainable fishing methods and efficient stock management are crucial considering growing environmental concerns;fishing practices and effective stock management are imperative. This research presents a novel approach that uses neural networks (NN) hosted in the cloud to transform sustainable fishing and stock management. This method trains NN to make predictions by combining several data sources, such as satellite images, weather patterns, and catch records. These models can reliably predict fish stocks' dynamics, giving stakeholders the information needed to make informed decisions. Crucial for real-time processing and storage of massive information is the scalability and flexibility offered by cloud infrastructure. This framework provides the appropriate usage of resources while simultaneously optimizing fishing tactics, which helps protect marine ecosystems. It demonstrates that method promotes sustainable fishing via thorough case studies and simulations. It provides a flexible and scalable solution to the problems confronting marine biodiversity and the fishing industry by combining advanced technology with ecological principles. To ensure a more egalitarian and sustainable future for fisheries management on a global scale, method is a giant leap forward in balancing commercial interests with environmental protection. Integrating data, ensuring sensors are accurate, managing huge datasets, managing regulatory compliance, and encouraging stakeholders to work together for sustainable practices are all challenges. © 2024 IEEE.

Every new generation of modern vehicles aims to provide the customers with a higher level of comfort and entertainment services. Consequently, the burden is placed upon the manufacturers to incorporate ever more complex electronic systems in their products and introduce service-based technologies. To meet these demands, service-oriented architecture (SOA) has become an integral part of the Adaptive AUTOSAR as the industry standard. Also, mobile services and applications are natively supported in the new in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI) which usually run on the Android operating system. As these fundamentally different technologies are incorporated in the vehicles, the developers are facing the challenge of connecting them and exchanging information between the services running in different domains. Service-oriented architectures usually rely on a model-driven engineering approach to facilitate the development of the applications. However, as the complexity of the system grows, the mapping of various metamodels becomes a challenge, as no single standard is used across all domains in the vehicle. This paper provides a possible solution for mapping the already existing AUTOSAR metamodel to an Android Interface Definition Language (AIDL) metamodel. By applying the proposed mapping, it is possible to build applications that require the cooperation of various domains within the vehicle.

SOME/IP is a communication protocol introduced in automotive industry to enable Service Oriented Architecture which is not possible using traditional automotive protocols such as CAN or FlexRay. A trend emerging in the last years in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is that SOME/IP became one of main communication protocols used for communication between safety and performance ECU devices. Currently in the market, including the open-source solutions, there is a set of different SOME/IP implementations that have different audience and combination of characteristics like high royalty costs, available feature set and software solution maturity. This paper presents the Bitroute SOME/IP, a new implementation of the SOME/IP communication protocol with focus on performance and deployment platform independency and compares it with the open-source solution from The Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance (COVESA).

This research investigates the strain-sensing capabilities and conductivity of graphene-PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) nanocomposite films. With its exceptional electrical conductivity and transport properties, graphene is embedded in PVDF to enhance the films’ thermal stability, flexibility, and mechanical strength. Various weight percentages of graphene-PVDF films were fabricated using solvent casting and subjected to strain analysis. Raman spectroscopy, including I D /I G ratio calculations and mapping, monitored strain responses and local variations. The study also incorporated Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) for surface roughness measurements and Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy (BDS) to assess dielectric properties across frequencies from 1 Hz to 10 6 Hz. The films’ electrical conductivity and mechanical properties were evaluated to optimize their use in microstrip patch antennas. The potential of graphene-PVDF films as conductive patches was explored, and simulated results were compared with real-time performance data. The findings suggest that graphene-PVDF films could replace traditional copper in antennas, offering tunable conductivity and flexibility, potentially leading to innovative applications in wearable technology and advanced sensor systems.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.
