Answering reachability queries with ordered label constraints over labeled graphs

Reachability query plays a vital role in many graph analysis *** researches proposed many methods to efficiently answer reachability queries between vertex *** many real graphs are labeled graph,it highly demands Label-Constrained Reachability(LCR)query inwhich constraint includes a set of labels besides vertex *** researches proposed several methods for answering some LCR queries which require appearance of some labels specified in constraints in the *** that constraint may be a label set,query constraint may be ordered labels,namely OLCR(Ordered-Label-Constrained Reachability)queries which retrieve paths matching a sequence of ***,no solutions are available for ***,we propose DHL,a novel bloom filter based indexing technique for answering OLCR *** can be used to check reachability between vertex *** the answers are not no,then constrained DFS is ***,we employ DHL followed by performing constrained DFS to answer OLCR *** show that DHL has a bounded false positive rate,and it's powerful in saving indexing time and *** experiments on 10 real-life graphs and 12 synthetic graphs demonstrate that DHL achieves about 4.8-22.5 times smaller index space and 4.6-114 times less index construction time than two state-of-art techniques for LCR queries,while achieving comparable query response *** results also show that our algorithm can answer OLCR queries effectively.

To enable precision medicine and remote patient monitoring,internet of healthcare things(IoHT)has gained significant interest as a promising *** the widespread use of IoHT,nonetheless,privacy infringements such as IoHT data leakage have raised serious public *** the other side,blockchain and distributed ledger technologies have demonstrated great potential for enhancing trustworthiness and privacy protection for IoHT *** this survey,a holistic review of existing blockchain-based IoHT systems is conducted to indicate the feasibility of combining blockchain and IoHT in privacy *** addition,various types of privacy challenges in IoHT are identified by examining general data protection regulation(GDPR).More importantly,an associated study of cutting-edge privacy-preserving techniques for the identified IoHT privacy challenges is ***,several challenges in four promising research areas for blockchain-based IoHT systems are pointed out,with the intent of motivating researchers working in these fields to develop possible solutions.

ReflexGest: Recognizing Hand Gestures under VLC-Capable Lamps

As a main approach towards touch-free human-computer interaction, hand gesture recognition (HGR) has long been a research focus for both academia and industry. Meanwhile, visible light communication (VLC) has become increasingly popular with VLC-ready commercial products (e.g., Philips lamps) available on the market. These facts provoke us to ask: can we leverage a VLC-ready lamp to realize integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) by conducting both HGR and VLC simultaneously? To this end, we propose ReflexGest as our answer to this question. ReflexGest is implemented upon a table lamp for the sake of practicality;this VLC-ready lamp is equipped with a ring-shaped light-emitting diode (LED) array and a photodiode (PD, for light intensity sensing) originally aiming for up/down-link VLCs. Demanding hand gestures to be performed between the lamp and a table surface, ReflexGest exploits the variation of the reflection and their unique correlation with the corresponding hand gestures to achieve HGR. In particular, ReflexGest first handles the limited sensing ability of the PD by enhancing the LED lamp and thus diversifying the light emission patterns. Moreover, ReflexGest combats the reflection interference from varying table surfaces via an adversarial learning technique to distill only the features relevant to hand gestures. Our extensive evaluations demonstrate that ReflexGest is able to deliver accurate HGR under realistic VLC traffic. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have enabled the semantic description of textures in natural language, aiming to capture them in richer detail. However, most methods are confined to either depending on supervised training with pairs of images and manually annotated visual attributes that most texture datasets lack or using Vision-Language Models (VLMs) such as CLIP. In this paper, we develop an encoder-agnostic Weakly supervised Texture Description Generator (WTDG) that employs a novel Scaled Ranked Kullback-Leibler divergence (SR-KL) loss between image and text modalities. Within the SR-KL loss formulation, we leverage category information, which is always available as ground-truths for all benchmark texture recognition datasets. We further extend our proposed WTDG to assist in texture recognition by using its generated texture descriptions. Thus, we develop a multimodal framework, called Tex2, which is adept at simultaneous generation of texture description and recognition. Our approach exhibits promising performance in describing and recognizing textures on benchmark datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

Adam has become one of the most favored optimizers in deep learning problems. Despite its success in practice, numerous mysteries persist regarding its theoretical understanding. In this paper, we study the implicit bias of Adam in linear logistic regression. Specifically, we show that when the training data are linearly separable, the iterates of Adam converge towards a linear classifier that achieves the maximum ∞-margin in direction. Notably, for a general class of diminishing learning rates, this convergence occurs within polynomial time. Our result shed light on the difference between Adam and (stochastic) gradient descent from a theoretical perspective. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

ARCHER:a ReRAM-based accelerator for compressed recommendation systems

Modern recommendation systems are widely used in modern data *** random and sparse embedding lookup operations are the main performance bottleneck for processing recommendation systems on traditional platforms as they induce abundant data movements between computing units and ***-based processing-in-memory(PIM)can resolve this problem by processing embedding vectors where they are ***,the embedding table can easily exceed the capacity limit of a monolithic ReRAM-based PIM chip,which induces off-chip accesses that may offset the PIM ***,we deploy the decomposed model on-chip and leverage the high computing efficiency of ReRAM to compensate for the decompression performance *** this paper,we propose ARCHER,a ReRAM-based PIM architecture that implements fully yon-chip recommendations under resource ***,we make a full analysis of the computation pattern and access pattern on the decomposed *** on the computation pattern,we unify the operations of each layer of the decomposed model in multiply-and-accumulate *** on the access observation,we propose a hierarchical mapping schema and a specialized hardware design to maximize resource *** the unified computation and mapping strategy,we can coordinatethe inter-processing elements *** evaluation shows that ARCHER outperforms the state-of-the-art GPU-based DLRM system,the state-of-the-art near-memory processing recommendation system RecNMP,and the ReRAM-based recommendation accelerator REREC by 15.79×,2.21×,and 1.21× in terms of performance and 56.06×,6.45×,and 1.71× in terms of energy savings,respectively.

Stylometry-driven framework for Urdu intrinsic plagiarism detection: a comprehensive analysis using machine learning, deep learning, and large language models

Detecting plagiarism in documents is a well-established task in natural language processing (NLP). Broadly, plagiarism detection is categorized into two types (1) intrinsic: to check the whole document or all the passages have been written by a single author;(2) extrinsic: where a suspicious document is compared with a given set of source documents to figure out sentences or phrases which appear in both documents. In the pursuit of advancing intrinsic plagiarism detection, this study addresses the critical challenge of intrinsic plagiarism detection in Urdu texts, a language with limited resources for comprehensive language models. Acknowledging the absence of sophisticated large language models (LLMs) tailored for Urdu language, this study explores the application of various machine learning, deep learning, and language models in a novel framework. A set of 43 stylometry features at six granularity levels was meticulously curated, capturing linguistic patterns indicative of plagiarism. The selected models include traditional machine learning approaches such as logistic regression, decision trees, SVM, KNN, Naive Bayes, gradient boosting and voting classifier, deep learning approaches: GRU, BiLSTM, CNN, LSTM, MLP, and large language models: BERT and GPT-2. This research systematically categorizes these features and evaluates their effectiveness, addressing the inherent challenges posed by the limited availability of Urdu-specific language models. Two distinct experiments were conducted to evaluate the impact of the proposed features on classification accuracy. In experiment one, the entire dataset was utilized for classification into intrinsic plagiarized and non-plagiarized documents. Experiment two categorized the dataset into three types based on topics: moral lessons, national celebrities, and national events. A hybrid memory architecture supporting fine-grained data migration
