The Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a networking paradigm related to the intercommunication of vehicles using a *** a dynamic network,one of the key challenges in IoV is traffic management under increasing vehicles to avoid ***,optimal path selection to route traffic between the origin and destination is *** research proposed a realistic strategy to reduce traffic management service response time by enabling real-time content distribution in IoV systems using heterogeneous network ***,this work proposed a novel use of the Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)algorithm and formulated the path planning optimization problem as an Integer Linear Program(ILP).This integrates the future estimation metric to predict the future arrivals of the vehicles,searching the optimal *** the mobile nature of IOV,fuzzy logic is used for congestion level estimation along with the ACO to determine the optimal *** model results indicate that the suggested scheme outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods by identifying the shortest and most cost-effective ***,this work strongly supports its use in applications having stringent Quality of Service(QoS)requirements for the vehicles.

The increased adoption of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) technologies has resulted in the widespread use ofBody Area Networks (BANs) in medical and non-medical domains. However, the performance of IEEE 802.15.4-based BANs is impacted by challenges related to heterogeneous data traffic requirements among nodes, includingcontention during finite backoff periods, association delays, and traffic channel access through clear channelassessment (CCA) algorithms. These challenges lead to increased packet collisions, queuing delays, retransmissions,and the neglect of critical traffic, thereby hindering performance indicators such as throughput, packet deliveryratio, packet drop rate, and packet delay. Therefore, we propose Dynamic Next Backoff Period and Clear ChannelAssessment (DNBP-CCA) schemes to address these issues. The DNBP-CCA schemes leverage a combination ofthe Dynamic Next Backoff Period (DNBP) scheme and the Dynamic Next Clear Channel Assessment (DNCCA)scheme. The DNBP scheme employs a fuzzy Takagi, Sugeno, and Kang (TSK) model’s inference system toquantitatively analyze backoff exponent, channel clearance, collision ratio, and data rate as input parameters. Onthe other hand, the DNCCA scheme dynamically adapts the CCA process based on requested data transmission tothe coordinator, considering input parameters such as buffer status ratio and acknowledgement ratio. As a result,simulations demonstrate that our proposed schemes are better than some existing representative approaches andenhance data transmission, reduce node collisions, improve average throughput, and packet delivery ratio, anddecrease average packet drop rate and packet delay.

With the advancement of global positioning systems and communication technologies, location-based services (LBS) have become widely used. However, user location privacy is vulnerable during service exchange, and location-related queries may result in serious privacy disclosure issues. In this article, considering that attackers may make use of auxiliary information to track a mobile user, we propose a real-time privacy-preserving scheme based on the grouping of queries in continuous LBS. In this scheme, we first design the probability density functions to select (Figure presented.) virtual locations. Then, we group these virtual locations and the query location of the user into several queries. Simultaneously, we send these grouping queries to the LBS server. Following the steps outlined above, grouping queries can be used to conceal the true query. Moreover, the results of security analyses and performance evaluations show that the proposed scheme is effective and secure. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Reasoning about Strategic Abilities in Stochastic Multi-agent Systems

Reasoning about strategic abilities is key to AI systems comprising multiple agents, which provide a unified framework for formalizing various problems in game theory, social choice theory, etc. In this work, we propose a probabilistic extension of the alternating-time μ-calculus (AMC), named PAMC, for reasoning about the strategic abilities of agents in stochastic multi-agent systems. We show that PAMC subsumes two existing logics AMC and PμTL (a probabilistic extension of the modal μ-calculus), but is incomparable with the probabilistic alternating-time temporal logic (PATL). We study the problems of model checking and satisfiability checking for PAMC. We first give a model checking algorithm by leveraging algorithms for solving normal-form games and AMC model checking. We establish that the model checking problem of PAMC remains in UP∩co-UP, the same complexity class as the model checking problem for AMC and PμTL. We also provide a new reduction from the satisfiability problem of PAMC to solving parity games, by which we obtain an EXPTIME decision procedure, as well as the small model property which allows to construct a model for each satisfiable PAMC formula. Satisfiability in PAMC has the same complexity as in the modal μ-calculus, unlike PCTL and PATL whose satisfiability checking problems remain open. We have implemented both the model checking and satisfiability checking algorithms as open-source tools. Experimental results are reported, showcasing the practical applications and effectiveness of our approaches. © 2024, CC BY.

Recently, the application of transfer learning within dynamic multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (DMOEAs) has shown significant potential to solve dynamic multiobjective optimization problems (DMOPs). This approach utilizes the transfer learning technique which reuses information from previous environments to accelerate the search process in the new environment. However, the risk of negative transfer can lead to an erroneous search direction and inefficient use of computational resources. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel multistage transfer learning DMOEA, named MSTL. The algorithm is designed to enhance the convergence and diversity of the population through the combination of the pre-transfer learning stage and the transfer learning and validation stage when environmental changes occur. In the pre-transfer learning stage, a suitable target domain, source domain, and validation classifier sample sets are generated guided by historical information. In the transfer learning and validation stage, the TrAdaboost technique to transfer knowledge from the target to the source domain, with the results verified by two validation classifiers to mitigate negative transfer. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm outperforms four competing algorithms in terms of diversity and convergence on a widely recognized benchmark suite.

Learning distinguishing features from training datasets while filtering features of occlusions is critical to person retrieval scenarios. Most of the current person re-identification (Re-ID) methods based on classification or deep metric representation learning tend to overlook occlusion issues on the training set. Such representations from obstacles are easily over-fitted and misleading due to being considered as a part of the human body. To alleviate the occlusion problem, we propose a pose-guided feature region-based fusion network (PFRFN), to utilize pose landmarks as guidance to guide local learning for a good property of local feature, and the representation learning risk is evaluated on each part loss separately. Compared with only using global classification loss, concurrently considering local loss and the results of robust pose estimation enable the deep network to learn the representations of the body parts that prominently displayed in the image and gain the discriminative faculties on occluded scenes. Experimental results on multiple datasets, i.e., Market-1501, DukeMTMC, CUHK03, demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in a variety of scenarios. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH, DE part of Springer Nature.

End-to-end person search aims to jointly detect and re-identify a target person in raw scene images with a unified model. The detection task unifies all persons while the re-id task discriminates different identities, resulting in conflict optimal objectives. Existing works proposed to decouple end-to-end person search to alleviate such conflict. Yet these methods are still sub-optimal on one or two of the sub-tasks due to their partially decoupled models, which limits the overall person search performance. In this paper, we propose to fully decouple person search towards optimal person search. A task-incremental person search network is proposed to incrementally construct an end-to-end model for the detection and re-id sub-task, which decouples the model architecture for the two sub-tasks. The proposed task-incremental network allows task-incremental training for the two conflicting tasks. This enables independent learning for different objectives thus fully decoupled the model for personsearch. Comprehensive experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed fully decoupled models for end-to-end person search. © 2023 IEEE.

The software development process is more flexible with the concept of containerization in the microservice platform. This research is on three key components to resolve problems faced by the developers and DevOps teams in the IT industry. First, the development phase expects a fully automated software release process from to the deployment phase and then optimize processes tailored to Docker, and Kubernetes, in microservice-based applications. Then streamline the process and leverage the container orchestration technologies to monitor the main aspect of the development lifecycle through the multi-cloud deployment on demand of the growth of day-today releases on multi-regions. A centralized monitoring platform is developed to monitor the deployed applications and that provides comprehensive visibility regarding performance and health of microservices. At the stage of scalarization in microservices, Vertical Pod Autoscaling (VPA) and Horizontal Pod Autoscaling (HPA) are available approaches for resource allocation, and they require measuring the minimum and maximum resource limits. As a result, an intelligent resource allocation system is proposed using a combination of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) algorithms to cater to dynamic resource allocation, optimizing scalability, and improving cost-efficiency. This research aims to achieve practical insights into the IT industry's automated deployment, managing, scaling, and monitoring of microservice-based applications through the mentioned components. © 2023 IEEE.

Water is a necessary fluid to the human body and automatic checking of its quality and cleanness is an ongoing area of research. One such approach is to present the liquid to various types of signals and make the amount of signal attenuation an indication of the liquid category. In this article, we have utilized the Wi-Fi signal to distinguish clean water from poisoned water via training different machine learning algorithms. The Wi-Fi access points (WAPs) signal is acquired via equivalent smartphone-embedded Wi-Fi chipsets, and then Channel-State-Information CSI measures are extracted and converted into feature vectors to be used as input for machine learning classification algorithms. The measured amplitude and phase of the CSI data are selected as input features into four classifiers k-NN, SVM, LSTM, and Ensemble. The experimental results show that the model is capable to differentiate toxic water from clean water with a classification accuracy of 91.5% using LSTM and 92% when GentleBoost-Ensemble is applied to distinguish toxic water from clean water. © 2024, The Authors. Delay-aware Dual-Interface Gateway Activation for Energy-Efficient Data Collection in IoT

The proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has elevated the demand for energy-efficient gateway solutions, particularly for battery-powered Wi-Fi devices functioning as gateways in IoT data collection. Traditional approaches either neglect gateway energy consumption or struggle to balance energy efficiency with delay requirements. To address this, we introduce the Dual-interface Gateway Activation (DGA) scheme, a significant advancement enhancing IoT gateway energy management via interactive cooperation between ZigBee and Wi-Fi. DGA's core innovation lies in its dual-interface design and heterogeneity-aware activation strategy. By leveraging coexisting low-power ZigBee communications, DGA dynamically activates the gateway's high-power Wi-Fi interface only when necessary for data reception, effectively decoupling power consumption from continuous Wi-Fi operation. Meanwhile, DGA conservatively schedules high-reliability Wi-Fi sessions to augment unreliable ZigBee communications, thereby ensuring prompt gateway activation for delay-bounded data delivery under varying network conditions. This innovative approach not only guarantees high energy efficiency but also low latency, overcoming the limitations of single-interface gateways. Experimental validation of our prototype system demonstrates DGA's superior performance, achieving up to 62.1% and 45.9% reductions in gateway energy consumption compared to state-of-the-art single-interface and dual-interface solutions, respectively. Additionally, DGA attains lower node energy consumption, further highlighting its potential to enable more energy-efficient IoT networks. © 2017 IEEE.
