Aspect-Category-Opinion-Sentiment Quadruple Extraction (ACOS) is a critical subtask of Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), aiming to extract all quadruples in a review sentence. Existing ACOS methods are categorized into pipeline methods and unified methods. Pipeline methods face error propagation and ignore the interdependency among four sentiment elements. Unified methods generate a long target sequence when the number of quadruples increases, which degrades the model performance. In this paper, we pay attention to the implicit aspects and opinions to obtain comprehensive aspect-level sentiment information. To this end, we propose a novel sequence generation model for ACOS named SG-ACOS. We design a linearization method to express ACOS quadruples as a sequence. The proposed linearization method incorporates natural language tokens and two special tokens into the target sequence. Natural language tokens are employed to represent the four sentiment elements, thus facilitating the model to learn the semantics of sentiment elements. Special tokens reduce the length of the target sequence, thereby improving the model efficiency and performance. Our proposed model obtains an absolute $F_{1}$ improvement of 3.52% and 2.74% against previous state-of-the-art methods on two ACOS datasets, respectively. Further experimental results show the model effectiveness in implicit sentiment detection and the robustness of our model.

ActivityMamba: A CNN-Mamba hybrid neural network for efficient human activity recognition

Current research in human activity recognition primarily emphasizes enhancing accuracy, with limited exploration into computational efficiency and hardware compatibility. Recently, Mamba has sparked substantial interest within the realm of deep learning. Mamba is a hardware-aware algorithm enabling very efficient training and inference. Researchers are applying Mamba to various tasks, demonstrating significant promise in both language and vision tasks. It is worthwhile to investigate the use of Mamba for efficient human activity recognition. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid neural network that integrates CNN and visual Mamba, called ActivityMamba. The SE-Mamba block in ActivityMamba utilizes both CNN's local and Mamba's global context modeling while keeping computation and memory efficiency. We evaluated the ActivityMamba on five public benchmark datasets collected by using three different sensing techniques. ActivityMamba achieved higher performance than vision transformers, vision Mamba, and CNNs with fewer FLOPs and parameters. It sets a new SOTA on all five datasets, which are 91.78% OA and 89.13% F1 on the USC-HAD dataset, 99.19% OA and 98.64% F1 on the UT-HAR dataset, 99.82% OA and F1 on the DIAT dataset, 98.59% OA and 98.65% F1 on the UCI-HAR dataset, and 95.41% OA and 93.14% F1 on the UniMib dataset. Our work is the first to investigate the CNN-Mamba hybrid network for efficient human activity recognition. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence(AI)and machine learning(ML)help in making predictions and businesses to make key decisions that are beneficial for *** the case of the online shopping business,it’s very important to find trends in the data and get knowledge of features that helps drive the success of the *** this research,a dataset of 12,330 records of customers has been analyzedwho visited an online shoppingwebsite over a period of one *** main objective of this research is to find features that are relevant in terms of correctly predicting the purchasing decisions made by visiting customers and build ML models which could make correct predictions on unseen data in the *** permutation feature importance approach has been used to get the importance of features according to the output variable(Revenue).Five ML models i.e.,decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),extra tree(ET)classifier,Neural networks(NN),and Logistic regression(LR)have been used to make predictions on the unseen data in the *** performance of each model has been discussed in detail using performance measurement techniques such as accuracy score,precision,recall,F1 score,and ROC-AUC *** model is the bestmodel among all five chosen based on accuracy score of 90%and F1 score of 79%followed by extra tree ***,our study indicates that RF model can be used by online retailing businesses for predicting consumer buying *** research also reveals the importance of page value as a key feature for capturing online purchasing *** may give a clue to future businesses who can focus on this specific feature and can find key factors behind page value success which in turn will help the online shopping business.

A reinforcement learning and predictive analytics approach for enhancing credit assessment in manufacturing

The fundamental issue with a credit system for manufacturers and importers of commodities is inefficient credit assessment. Traditional techniques frequently produce inaccurate risk assessments and credit scores, resulting in financial losses for lenders, missing business growth possibilities, and less favorable client conditions. To overcome this issue, a comprehensive credit assessment scoring system should be implemented to increase importers’ confidence. The article proposes a predictive-based reinforcement learning (PRL) model to help manufacturers and importers acquire more accurate and dependable credit scores while avoiding default risk. Furthermore, the proposed PRL model enhances decision-making, system efficiency, and risk-tolerant financial conditions. To attain these cutting-edge objectives, the proposed PRL model combines three algorithms. Algorithm 1 collects and aggregates data to indicate areas for improvement if credit scoring is poor. Algorithm 2 uses reinforcement learning to validate and enhance bank scores. Algorithm 3 focuses on predictive modeling for bank scoring, ensuring that the credit decision-making system is operational and constantly improving. Furthermore, reinforcement learning leverages the features from local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME) and shapely additive explanations (SHAP) to generate locally reliable explanations and attribute the contribution of each feature for determining the output of the model. The Python platform tests the proposed PRL to achieve the objectives. Based on the results, The PRL model markedly enhances credit assessment precision, achieving an accuracy of over 99.5%, which outstrips current methodologies such OCLA (96.12%), PSML (84.12%), and EMPCC (91.67%). Furthermore, the PRL model augments leverage ratios, rising from 2.75% in 2015 to 3.36% in 2024.5, and increases accounts receivable turnover from 4.38% in 2015 to 7.4% in 2024.5, surpassing alternative credit evaluation methodologi

Recently, Multimodal Learning (MML) has gained significant interest as it compensates for single-modality limitations through comprehensive complementary information within multimodal data. However, traditional MML methods generally use the joint learning framework with a uniform learning objective that can lead to the modality competition issue, where feedback predominantly comes from certain modalities, limiting the full potential of others. In response to this challenge, this paper introduces DI-MML, a novel detached MML framework designed to learn complementary information across modalities under the premise of avoiding modality competition. Specifically, DI-MML addresses competition by separately training each modality encoder with isolated learning objectives. It further encourages cross-modal interaction via a shared classifier that defines a common feature space and employing a dimension-decoupled unidirectional contrastive (DUC) loss to facilitate modality-level knowledge transfer. Additionally, to account for varying reliability in sample pairs, we devise a certainty-aware logit weighting strategy to effectively leverage complementary information at the instance level during inference. Extensive experiments conducted on audio-visual, flow-image, and front-rear view datasets show the superior performance of our proposed method. Zero-shot Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting emerges as a simple and effective strategy for enhancing the performance of large language models (LLMs) in real-world reasoning tasks. Nonetheless, the efficacy of a singular, task-level prompt uniformly applied across the whole of instances is inherently limited since one prompt cannot be a good partner for all, a more appropriate approach should consider the interaction between the prompt and each instance meticulously. This work introduces an instance-adaptive prompting algorithm as an alternative zero-shot CoT reasoning scheme by adaptively differentiating good and bad prompts. Concretely, we first employ analysis on LLMs through the lens of information flow to detect the mechanism under zero-shot CoT reasoning, in which we discover that information flows from question to prompt and question to rationale jointly influence the reasoning results most. We notice that a better zero-shot CoT reasoning needs the prompt to obtain semantic information from the question, and then the rationale aggregates sufficient information from the question directly and via the prompt indirectly. On the contrary, lacking any of those would probably lead to a bad one. Stem from that, we further propose an instance-adaptive prompting strategy (IAP) for zero-shot CoT reasoning. Experiments conducted with LLaMA-2, LLaMA-3, and Qwen on math, logic, and commonsense reasoning tasks (e.g., GSM8k, MMLU, Causal Judgement) obtain consistent improvement, demonstrating that the instance-adaptive zero-shot CoT prompting performs better than other task-level methods with some curated prompts or sophisticated procedures, showing the significance of our findings in the zero-shot CoT reasoning mechanism. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected objects, which congregate and exchange gigantic amounts of data. Usually, predeployed embedded sensors sense this massive data. Soon, several applications of IoT are anticipated to exploit emerging 6G technology. Healthcare is one of them, where the 6G-inspired paradigm may facilitate the users to exchange information through hundreds of sensors under the assumption of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). Integration of medical sensors with AIoT is known as Artificial Intelligence of Medical Things (AIoMT). The secure and seamless interactions among 6G-enabled AIoMT users should be the primary challenge. Furthermore, resource-constrained wearable sensing devices, with their inability to execute complex security solutions, provide an ideal attraction for malicious entities to launch diverse attacks. These challenges have motivated us to design a cost-effective authenticated solution (CAS) for 6G-enabled AIoMT healthcare applications. Our CAS protocol not only prevents cyber threats like impersonation session key secrecy but it can also prevent physical threats like hardware tampering. We observe formal and informal security validations to endorse its robustness and effectiveness. Performance comparison reveals that the CAS protocol offers maximum security enrichment. Moreover, CAS is cost-effective as it has achieved 33% and 60% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, compared to contemporary competing related protocols. © 2014 IEEE.

The research of human interaction recognition based on fusion features of key frame feature library

Some issues such as computational complexity and low recognition accuracy still exist in human interaction recognition. In order to solve the problem, the paper has proposed innovative and effective method based on fixed features of key frame feature library. Firstly, GIST feature and HOG feature were extracted from the pre-processed videos. Secondly, training videos with different kinds of actions were clustered by the K-means algorithm respectively to get key frame feature of each action for constructing key frame feature library. And similarity measure was utilised to calculate the frequency of different key frames in every interactive video, and statistical histogram representation of interactive videos were obtained. Finally, the decision level fusion was achieved by using SVM classifier based on histogram intersection kernel to obtain impressive results on UT-interaction dataset. The correct recognition rate of the proposed algorithm is 85%, which indicates that the proposed algorithm is simple and effective than others. © 2021 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Error Classification of Large Language Models on Math Word Problems: A Dynamically Adaptive Framework

Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated remarkable capabilities across various domains. Math Word Problems (MWPs) serve as a crucial benchmark for evaluating LLMs’ reasoning abilities. While most research primarily focuses on improving accuracy, it often neglects understanding and addressing the underlying patterns of errors. Current error classification methods rely on static and predefined categories, which limit their ability to capture the full spectrum of error patterns in mathematical reasoning. To enable systematic error analysis, we collect error samples from 15 different LLMs of varying sizes across four distinct MWP datasets using multiple sampling strategies. Based on this extensive collection, we introduce MWPES-300K, a comprehensive dataset containing 304,865 error samples that cover diverse error patterns and reasoning paths. To reduce human bias and enable fine-grained analysis of error patterns, we propose a novel framework for automated dynamic error classification in mathematical reasoning. Experimental results demonstrate that dataset characteristics significantly shape error patterns, which evolve from basic to complex manifestations as model capabilities increase. With deeper insights into error patterns, we propose error-aware prompting that incorporates common error patterns as explicit guidance, leading to significant improvements in mathematical reasoning performance. Design workshops are a popular approach to include older adults in the technology design process. However, formative design sessions with older adults have had unexpected outcomes such as the non-use of traditional design materials like craft-based prototyping supplies or disengagement from design activities. Analyzing the engagement of 32 older adults across two design workshops, this paper sheds insights on some of these outcomes. Contributing to a growing body of HCI research on understanding older adults' participation in design, we provide an understanding of how design materials can shape older adults' engagement in formative design activities. Our discussion furthers research on understanding who older adults design for and why, argues for a different understanding of creative expression, and offers considerations for choosing design materials. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
