With recent advances in technology protecting sensitive healthcare data is challenging. Particularly, one of the most serious issues with medical information security is protecting of medical content, such as the privacy of patients. As medical information becomes more widely available, security measures must be established to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Image steganography was recently proposed as an extra data protection mechanism for medical records. This paper describes a data-hiding approach for DICOM medical pictures. To ensure secrecy, we use Adversarial Neural Cryptography with SHA-256 (ANC-SHA-256) to encrypt and conceal the RGB patient picture within the medical image's Region of Non-Interest (RONI). To ensure anonymity, we use ANC-SHA-256 to encrypt the RGB patient image before embedding. We employ a secure hash method with 256bit (SHA-256) to produce a digital signature from the information linked to the DICOM file to validate the authenticity and integrity of medical pictures. Many tests were conducted to assess visual quality using diverse medical datasets, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound cover pictures. The LFW dataset was chosen as a patient hidden picture. The proposed method performs well in visual quality measures including the PSNR average of 67.55, the NCC average of 0.9959, the SSIM average of 0.9887, the UQI average of 0.9859, and the APE average of 3.83. It outperforms the most current techniques in these visual quality measures (PSNR, MSE, and SSIM) across six medical assessment categories. Furthermore, the proposed method offers great visual quality while being resilient to physical adjustments, histogram analysis, and other geometrical threats such as cropping, rotation, and scaling. Mobile Edge computing for Multi-Services Digital Twin-Enabled IoT Heterogeneous Networks

A scheme for edge computing-enabled offloading in a digital twin (DT) enabled heterogeneous network (HetNet) of multi-services IoT devices (IDs) is proposed. This scheme optimizes the association and handover of IDs, offloading ratio, and resource allocation considering the number of IDs, deadline requirements, and resource capacities. The objective is to enhance future generation networks by considering the ID movement, diverse ID requests, and network heterogeneity. We formulate the problem as Joint ID assOciatIon, offloadiNg ratio, Wireless bandwidth and computing reSource allocation, and digital twin placEment (JOINWISE), aiming to minimize the task completion time of all IDs while considering ID movement. Since JOINWISE is a mixed-integer nonlinear problem, we decompose it into two sub-problems: the ID Association (IDA) problem and the offloading Ratio, DT plAcement, bandwiDth and computing resource allOcation (RADIO) problem. IDA can be solved by mapping it to a multi-dimensional multiple knapsacks problem. Due to the non-convexity, high dimension of decision variables, and dynamic HetNet environment of RADIO, we propose a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) based reinforcement learning method to iteratively solve the two sub-problems. Simulation results have confirmed the effectiveness of our proposed scheme in tackling the JOINWISE problem. © 2015 IEEE.

Police patrol aims to fulfill two main objectives namely to project presence and to respond to incidents in a timely manner. Incidents happen dynamically and can disrupt the initially-planned patrol schedules. The key decisions to be made will be which patrol agent to be dispatched to respond to an incident and subsequently how to adapt the patrol schedules in response to such dynamically-occurring incidents whilst still fulfilling both objectives;which sometimes can be conflicting. In this paper, we define this real-world problem as a Dynamic Bi-Objective Police Patrol Dispatching and Rescheduling Problem and propose a solution approach that combines Deep Reinforcement Learning (specifically neural networks-based Temporal-Difference learning with experience replay) to approximate the value function and a rescheduling heuristic based on ejection chains to learn both dispatching and rescheduling policies jointly. To address the dual objectives, we propose a reward function that implicitly tries to maximize the rate of successfully responding to an incident within a response time target while minimizing the reduction in patrol presence without the need to explicitly set predetermined weights for each objective. The proposed approach is able to compute both dispatching and rescheduling decisions almost instantaneously. Our work serves as the first work in the literature that takes into account these dual patrol objectives and real-world operational consideration where incident response may disrupt existing patrol schedules. © 2022, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.

Adoption of computerized systems by organizations in Nigeria poses some data security challenges to citizens and people from other nations. The challenges require organizations to deploy personal data security that are in line with global standards, hence, Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) was introduced. NDPR is to promote ethical personal data security and Nigeria’s attainment of the sustainable development goal-17. However, only small number of organizations in Nigeria are able to adopt the NDPR because its adoption is complex and necessitate the implementation of organizational change management (OCM) project. Experience shows that OCM projects usually fails because many OCM frameworks used for OCM projects do not align with both scientifically proven ideas and organizational realities. Our study addresses the benefits of collaborative practice research studies to the production of OCM frameworks that incorporates both theoretical ideas and organizational realities. Our study provides viable solutions to the problem of lack of practice oriented OCM frameworks that organizations in Nigeria can use to drive the adoption the NDPR.

The Memetic Algorithm (MA), introduced by Pablo Moscato in 1989, integrates Evolutionary Algorithms with local search methods, enhancing its effectiveness in solving complex optimization problems. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of MA research published in 2019, reviewing 75 selected papers from an initial pool of 112 identified through Google Scholar. The selected papers were categorized into five types: optimization problems (40 papers), image processing (10 papers), parallel processing (5 papers), gene/DNA datasets (4 papers), and other applications (16 papers). The survey highlights MA's versatility and effectiveness across various domains, particularly its potential for solving complex optimization problems. Key findings include the adaptability of MA for diverse applications, its ongoing relevance in addressing challenging issues, and promising opportunities for combining MA with other algorithms to enhance performance. The paper also emphasizes the significance of MA in fields such as image processing, where it improves pattern recognition and image enhancement, and in bioinformatics, where it optimizes gene selection and genetic algorithms. Despite the extensive study of MA, there remains a significant research gap in non-English literature, particularly in Bahasa, limiting accessibility for Indonesian researchers. This survey aims to bridge this gap by providing valuable insights and encouraging further exploration and application of MA to solve increasingly complex problems. It offers a comprehensive overview that underscores the importance of MA and its potential for future research and innovation. © 2024 IEEE.

Vaxallot seeks to implement a system to distribute vaccines across high-risk groups accounting for various parameters and prove to be superior to what conventional systems are capable of today. It is a Python flask-based tool backed by infrastructure and data resources from the Covid India central repository;all it needs is a single channel input and a single parameter of the value produced, and the algorithm will take care of the rest. Since it’s Python-based and has an active integration with google sheets, live value updating could be possible for the real-time output of the distribution. The novelty of the proposed mechanism is the unique priority index, a score that accounts for an array of factors associated with the pandemic and is computed for regions in question here;this makes way for better distribution of vaccines. The application has an exclusive segment centered on handling excess units, if any. Moreover, since the application is developed to suit the needs of dynamic demographics, any region can roll out this application for purposes they desire to serve the masses. SMEs’ digital maturity: analyzing influencing factors and the mediating role of environmental factors

Purpose This study investigates the relationships among various dimensions influencing the digital maturity of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A novel variable, namely SMEs' dependence level on environmental factors, is introduced to broaden the scope beyond traditional linear relationships, providing insights into the multifaceted nature of SME digital maturity. Design/methodology/approach The study employs correlation and regression analyses to unravel significant correlations and explore the impact of predictors on the dependent variable. The interconnectedness of technology, Product, Organization, People, Strategy and Operations is scrutinized, revealing their collective influence on SMEs' digital maturity. Importantly, the absence of multicollinearity issues is confirmed, validating the reliability of the study’s results. The regression models demonstrate robust explanatory power, with the inclusion of a mediator significantly enhancing overall model performance. Findings The findings highlight the interconnected nature of key dimensions, emphasizing the collective influence of technology, Product, Organization, People, Strategy and Operations on SMEs' digital maturity. Analysis of variance results further support the effectiveness of these predictors in capturing variability in the dependent variable. Beta values provide insight into the distinct contributions of each predictor, emphasizing their individual impacts on SMEs' digital maturity. Originality/value This study contributes to the field by emphasizing the need for more holistic models and methodological advancements to understand the complex dynamics that shape SMEs' digital maturity. By introducing the novel variable of SMEs' dependence level on environmental factors, the research expands the conceptual framework, offering a fresh perspective on the multifaceted nature of SME digital maturity. The convergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly transforming the landscape of future networking. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a technological paradigm that encompasses embedded systems, wireless sensors, and automation, facilitating the integration of various applications ranging from smart homes to wearable devices. In addition, the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) amplifies this influence by providing data-driven analytics, optimising processes, and presenting novel opportunities for growth. Nevertheless, the widespread adoption of devices within Internet of Things (IoT) networks gives rise to apprehensions regarding increased energy consumption. In order to ensure the longevity of network operations, it is imperative to employ energy-efficient protocols for sensor nodes that possess limited power resources. One example of a protocol that demonstrates this concept is the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) protocol. This protocol effectively divides networks into clusters and dynamically adjusts the cluster heads to optimise the transmission of data to the base stations. Our study enhances the LEACH protocol by incorporating digital twin simulation, thereby enhancing the efficiency of IoT systems. Virtual network models and AI analytics are employed to assess energy consumption and performance. Cache nodes play a crucial role within this framework as they collect data from cluster heads in order to transmit it to the base station. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation techniques, we are able to improve the energy efficiency and reliability of the Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The findings indicate a significant reduction of 83% in non-functioning nodes and a notable increase of 1.66 times in energy levels of nodes compared to conventional approaches.
