PurposeThe impact of AI on healthcare is widely recognized there remains a scarcity of studies examining how doctors perceive and approach its use in medicine. This study aims to gather insights from healthcare providers in Jordan concerning the advantages of integrating AI into practices, their perspectives on AI applications in healthcare, and their views on the future role of AI in replacing key tasks within health *** survey was conducted among healthcare professionals working at facilities in Jordan. An online questionnaire was used to collect data on demographics, attitudes toward using AI for tasks, and opinions on the benefits of AI adoption. Categorical variables were presented as counts and percentages, while the continuous variables were interpreted as mean and standard deviation. The associations between the determinants and the outcomes were done using one-way ANOVA. Any test with a P-value 0.05 was considered *** total of 612 healthcare professionals participated in the survey with females comprising a majority of respondents (52.8%). The majority of respondents showed optimism about AI’s potential to improve and revolutionize the field, although there were concerns about AI replacing human roles. Generally, physical therapists, medical researchers, and pharmacists displayed openness to incorporating AI into their work routines. Younger individuals aged between 18 and 40 seemed accepting of AI in the domain. A significant portion of participants believed that AI could negatively impact job opportunities and reduce the time needed for diagnosing conditions, but did not find any correlation, between responses and *** conclude, the results of this study suggest that healthcare professionals, in Jordan, hold receptive views on incorporating artificial intelligence in the medical field similar to their counterparts in developed nations. Diabetes Mellitus has no permanent cure to date and is one of the leading causes of death globally. The alarming increase in diabetes calls for the need to take precautionary measures to avoid/predict the occurrence of diabetes. This paper proposes HealthEdge, a machine learning-based smart healthcare framework for type 2 diabetes prediction in an integrated IoT-edge-cloud computing system. Numerical experiments and comparative analysis were carried out between the two most used machine learning algorithms in the literature, Random Forest (RF) and Logistic Regression (LR), using two real-life diabetes datasets. The results show that RF predicts diabetes with 6% more accuracy on average compared to LR.

Despite advancement in collaborative writing tools, the track changes capability in modern editors remains limited to highlighting syntactic changes, with authors still required to manually read through each of the revisions. We envision a collaborative authoring system where an author could accept all minor edits first and then focus on the substantial changes. To support this, we define the task of significant revision identification as the task of identifying the revisions between two versions of a text according to one of four categories, i.e. formal, meaning preserving, micro-and macro-structure. Micro-structure change corresponds to minor meaning change while macro-structure change corresponds to major meaning change. Our main contribution is to define a computational approach to this task, by framing the task as bi-directional entailment between the original and revised sentences. An existing recognition of textual entailment (RTE) system is applied to evaluate whether the revised texts entails. We evaluate the approach through a novel corpus consisting of multiple versions of drafts of academic papers written by multiple authors, which were annotated with the four revision types by both authors and non-authors of the papers. The proposed bi-directional textual entailment approach performs better than baseline edit distance approaches, which is similar to the current track changes capability built into most word processors. © 2022 IEEE.

Digital transformation allows organizations to maintain sustainable development and address ongoing challenges. The current digital transformation and advanced technology mega-trend significantly impact society and organizations, making digital technology crucial for public and private organizations, universities, and daily life. Despite the rising demand, there is often a lack of standard policies governing the use of digital technology. Practical experience and literature reveal key challenges in transitioning from traditional to digital systems, including limited public awareness, mindset, ICT skills, government support, and collaboration between organizations and software engineering societies. Governments must establish digital transformation policies and offer software development guidelines for public organizations to digitalize their systems. Additionally, they should provide or support research projects funded by governmental and nongovernmental organizations to identify infrastructure and regulatory issues within Afghanistan’s digital transformation context. This study documents six organizational patterns observed during the transformation of traditional systems into digital systems, illustrating their sequence and explaining the development of a pattern language from these patterns.

Professional development programs for educators are thought to be generally ineffective and inefficient in raising student enjoyment and performance. As a result, new educators often express that the first years in their career are challenging and lacking in appropriate and effective support. New educators may frequently experience stress and anxiety from those factors as well as the inherent challenges of teaching young learners. The objectives of this paper and further research are to derive the most effective teaching techniques and behaviors using decision and ensemble tree methods. Six different models were trained from data collected on Egyptian preparatory language school mathematics teachers and their respective students. Two decision trees, two random forests and two gradient boosted trees are included, one set for classification tasks and the other for regression. The Student Evaluation Index (SEI) employed and generated by the student survey responses in this paper are used to derive the importance rankings of teaching techniques and behaviors. The tree structures can also be used to help teachers create improvement programs that will increase the performance and enjoyment of their students. The results of SEI prediction utilizing our tree methods are found to be critically dependent on techniques like Visualization and the use of native Language. It stands to reason that preparatory language school teachers in Egypt should emphasize the use of visual aids while instructing students in their native language. Additional attributes of a popular or effective teachers include inspirational behavior and the usage of practice problem sets such as homework. © 2023 IEEE.

User contributions is an important part in software development, the pursuit of identifying effective means of user contributions in software development is a crucial area of interest for software companies and their development teams. Determining the most opportune moments, locations, and methods for such contributions presents a significant challenge for organizations, which necessitates the exploration of generic and proven solutions. Applying patterns, established and observed solutions may provide the answers to such challenges and similar ones. This paper offers insights into the practical implementation of seven newly discovered organizational patterns in a real-life environment. The patterns are comprehensively described, accompanied by illustrative examples, and subsequently applied in actual practices.

Unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms on real-world data: how many do we need?

In this study we evaluate 33 unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms on 52 real-world multivariate tabular data sets, performing the largest comparison of unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms to date. On this collection of data sets, the EIF (Extended Isolation Forest) algorithm significantly outperforms the most other algorithms. Visualizing and then clustering the relative performance of the considered algorithms on all data sets, we identify two clear clusters: one with "local" data sets, and another with "global" data sets. "Local" anomalies occupy a region with low density when compared to nearby samples, while "global" occupy an overall low density region in the feature space. On the local data sets the kNN (k-nearest neighbor) algorithm comes out on top. On the global data sets, the EIF (extended isolation forest) algorithm performs the best. Also taking into consideration the algorithms' computational complexity, a toolbox with these two unsupervised anomaly detection algorithms suffices for finding anomalies in this representative collection of multivariate data sets. By providing access to code and data sets, our study can be easily reproduced and extended with more algorithms and/or data sets.

IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi networks are prone to many denial of service(DoS)attacks due to vulnerabilities at the media access control(MAC)layer of the 802.11 *** to the data transmission nature of the wireless local area network(WLAN)through radio waves,its communication is exposed to the possibility of being attacked by illegitimate ***,the security design of the wireless structure is vulnerable to versatile *** example,the attacker can imitate genuine features,rendering classificationbased methods inaccurate in differentiating between real and false *** security standards have been proposed over the last decades to overcome many wireless network attacks,effectively detecting such attacks is crucial in today’s real-world *** paper presents a novel resource exhaustion attack detection scheme(READS)to detect resource exhaustion attacks *** proposed scheme can differentiate between the genuine and fake management frames in the early stages of the attack such that access points can effectively mitigate the consequences of the *** scheme is built through learning from clustered samples using artificial neural networks to identify the genuine and rogue resource exhaustion management frames effectively and efficiently in *** proposed scheme consists of four modules whichmake it capable to alleviates the attack impact more effectively than the related *** experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed technique by gaining an 89.11%improvement compared to the existing works in terms of detection.
