This paper introduces a framework which can advance traditional building auditing and energy management methods in terms of cost, convenience of automatic and remote data (e.g., 3D geometry and thermal values) collection, system control, and comprehension and dissemination of results using a proposed cloud-based software as a service (CSaaS) system as a decision support tool. The decision support tool can help decision makers improve their buildings by providing reliable and visualized information of the building's energy performance through an easy-to-use interactive virtual evaluation system in a publicly accessible cyberspace. The proposed open decision-support platform is expected to ultimately reduce the public's energy consumption and invigorate the nation's economy by vitalizing sustainable product manufacture and retrofit construction industries.

Based on the design of a docking mechanism,this paper thoroughly investigates the space automatic doc- king of self-reconfiguration modular exploration robot system(RMERS).The method that leads robot to achieve space docking by using two-dimensional PSD is put forward innovatively for the median size robot *** the same time,in order to enlarge the detecting extension and the precision of PSD and reduce its dependence on light- ing signal,the PSD was remade by increasing the optical device over its light-sensitive *** emission board and LED light scheduling were designed according to docking arithmetic,and the operating principle of docking process was analyzed based on *** simulation experiments were carried out and their results are presented.

Excavation of underground utility pipelines is a common task for residential and commercial development. One of the most important tasks in underground excavation is the location and orientation of buried utility lines. In this paper, several pulse induced electromagnetic sensor coils are discussed which have been designed, fabricated and tested for underground utility pipe recognition. The work has been performed through the Buried Utilities Detection System (BUDS) Consortium at North Carolina State University. Characteristics of the sensor coils, including resolution and range, are provided and field test results are discussed.
