We are currently in a period of upheaval, as many new technologies are emerging that open up new possibilities to shape our everyday lives. Particularly, within the field of Personalized Human-computer Interaction we observe high potential, but also challenges. In this article, we explore how an increasing amount of online services and tools not only further facilitates our lives, but also shapes our lives and how we perceive our environments. For this purpose, we adopt the metaphor of personalized 'online layers' and show how these layers are and will be interwoven with the lives that we live in the 'human layer' of the real world. © 2024 the author(s), published by De Gruyter, Berlin/Boston.

In the era of large volumes of data (big data), suggestions on various methods are crucial, as they utilize vast amounts of data and consumer behavior information to suggest menus based on eating preferences. A novel approach to personalized menu suggestion is proposed, based on a project where the attention of a graph is diverted toward the Neural Network. The network captures the structural message of parts in the menu knowledge graph by fine-grained representation of consumers and their recipes. It uses a bidirectional dissemination approach to various sets of the consumer and system, learns topological adjacent structure features, and designs an attention aggregator to produce a refined embedding. The core product of the things predicts the probability of consumer-menu interactions. Experimental results show that CGRS outperforms baseline advanced suggestion models. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, Digital Twin (DT) has gained significant interestfrom academia and industry due to the advanced in information technology,communication systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing (CC),and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The main concept of the DT isto provide a comprehensive tangible, and operational explanation of anyelement, asset, or system. However, it is an extremely dynamic taxonomydeveloping in complexity during the life cycle that produces a massive amountof engendered data and information. Likewise, with the development of AI,digital twins can be redefined and could be a crucial approach to aid theInternet of Things (IoT)-based DT applications for transferring the data andvalue onto the Internet with better decision-making. Therefore, this paperintroduces an efficient DT-based fault diagnosis model based on machinelearning (ML) tools. In this framework, the DT model of the machine isconstructed by creating the simulation model. In the proposed framework,the Genetic algorithm (GA) is used for the optimization task to improvethe classification accuracy. Furthermore, we evaluate the proposed faultdiagnosis framework using performance metrics such as precision, accuracy,F-measure, and recall. The proposed framework is comprehensively examinedusing the triplex pump fault diagnosis. The experimental results demonstratedthat the hybrid GA-ML method gives outstanding results compared to MLmethods like LogisticRegression (LR), Na飗e Bayes (NB), and SupportVectorMachine (SVM). The suggested framework achieves the highest accuracyof 95% for the employed hybrid GA-SVM. The proposed framework willeffectively help industrial operators make an appropriate decision concerningthe fault analysis for IIoT applications in the context of Industry 4.0.

Information overload is a major problem for many people who use the internet. This is because there is so much information available that it can be hard to know where to start. Filtering tools, like the Recommender System, are needed to solve this problem. These tools give users access to relevant information and let them customise their search results based on their liking. The Collaborative Filtering Recommendation System finds the group of active users who are your closest neighbours. This study shows many ways to use the supervised machine learning algorithm (KNN) method for the Movie recommendation System with different similarity measures, such as the cosine metric, Squared Error Similarity, Linear Correlation Coefficient, and Baseline Predictor Correlation. For the movie recommender system, these many changes to the KNN algorithm were tested on real data from the given dataset and compared based on accuracy measures such as the number of matching pairs and different types of error like mean absolute error, squared mean error, and squared root mean error. By making changes to the web browser, this recommendation system processing tool could be used as a substitute in the real world. © 2024 IEEE.

Accelerating local SGD for non-IID data using variance reduction

Distributed stochastic gradient descent and its variants have been widely adopted in the training of machine learning models,which apply multiple workers in *** them,local-based algorithms,including Local SGD and FedAvg,have gained much attention due to their superior properties,such as low communication cost and ***,when the data distribution on workers is non-identical,local-based algorithms would encounter a significant degradation in the convergence *** this paper,we propose Variance Reduced Local SGD(VRL-SGD)to deal with the heterogeneous *** extra communication cost,VRL-SGD can reduce the gradient variance among workers caused by the heterogeneous data,and thus it prevents local-based algorithms from slow convergence ***,we present VRL-SGD-W with an effectivewarm-up mechanism for the scenarios,where the data among workers are quite *** from eliminating the impact of such heterogeneous data,we theoretically prove that VRL-SGD achieves a linear iteration speedup with lower communication complexity even if workers access non-identical *** conduct experiments on three machine learning *** experimental results demonstrate that VRL-SGD performs impressively better than Local SGD for the heterogeneous data and VRL-SGD-W is much robust under high data variance among workers.

Multi-Agent Imitation Learning Based Energy Management of a Microgrid With Hybrid Energy Storage and Real-Time Pricing

Microgrids equipped with hybrid energy storage systems (ESSs) are increasingly critical for balancing the intermittency of renewable energy sources (RESs) and the fluctuations in demand. This paper introduces a novel Multi-Agent Imitation Learning (MAIL) framework for real-time energy management in microgrids, particularly under real-time pricing conditions. The approach leverages a problem decomposition strategy, which separates the energy management task into two phases: first, optimal actions for each ESS are estimated using individual agents, each employing a deep neural network (DNN) trained to emulate an ideal mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) solver;then, a one-step online optimization reacts to these decisions to optimize the remaining system components holistically. Rigorous proofs establish the equivalence of the decomposed subproblems to the original optimization problem, ensuring integrity and effectiveness. Comparative simulation studies with real-world data reveal that our MAIL framework offers significant cost advantages and superior training efficiency relative to both traditional single and emerging multi-agent reinforcement learning (RL) methods. Notably, the operational costs achieved through our approach are markedly lower than those of its counterparts, closely approximating the theoretical minimum. This underscores the method's proficiency and its potential as an effective solution for microgrid energy management. Moreover, the MAIL strategy's multi-agent design allows for straightforward scalability to more extensive systems involving multiple ESSs and shows promising potential for cooperative management across interconnected microgrids. © 2014 IEEE.

Modelling information warfare dynamics to counter propaganda using a nonlinear differential equation with a PINN-based learning approach

The widespread dissemination of misinformation and propaganda has become a crucial issue in societal conversations. This study presents an innovative framework to counter propaganda within information warfare using a modified logistic differential equation integrated with a Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN). Employing the LIAR dataset, which reflects real-world political discourse, our model captures the intricate dynamics of propaganda. The novel approach effectively estimates underlying dynamics and unknown parameters, yielding superior accuracy (97.32%) compared to benchmark models. A parameter sensitivity analysis reveals the significant impact of the spread rate parameter, shedding light on aggressive propaganda dissemination. This research paves the way for robust methods in combating propaganda, demonstrating the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed PINN-based model over established benchmark models. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management.

Out of the most entrusted technological revolutions applied for the advancement of living standards and creation of a more convenient operation in the professional world, the Internet of Things (IoT) has been progressing at the highest projected pace. The interconnectivity of gadgets and devices over the internet to produce smarter control, communication, and a swift and easy lifestyle makes it an amazing tech introduction. However, the IOT also brings along a huge flow of privacy and security concerns whilst considering the huge inflow of data breaches and cyberattacks in the network data. The advancements in the security protocols of the data thus bring along mistrust among the users of IoT networks who might then no longer wish to be a part of this technological revolution. Therefore, it is important to maintain security assurance in the IoT based connection networks of wearable gadgets. This paper discusses the symmetric and asymmetric approaches of encryption over IoT which can help protect the network of smart phones connected to the wearable to assure a safe and smart data commute and avoid access to private data over the same internet connection. © 2021
